Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

"Uh, sure, I'll take some coffee," Sara said. She wondered why Ryan was being so sweet to her all of a sudden. Suddenly her phone rang. She looked at her caller id and saw that it was Greg. "I'll be right back, Ryan, I've got to take this," she said, stepping out into the hallway so Ryan wouldn't hear their conversation.
"Sara, it's Greg."
"Hi Greg, what's up?" Sara asked.
"I'm just calling to see if you're okay. I heard that Ryan stopped by to pick up some evidence," Greg replied.
"Yeah, he's still here in fact, and he's being really nice all of a sudden," Sara said.
"Yeah, well don't be too quick to fall for it. Remember you still have pizza waiting...that is, if you still want it," Greg said. Sara noted the change in Greg's voice.
"Greg, I..." Sara started, then gazed back into the waiting room at Ryan, sitting patiently at the table waiting for her. "I've gotta go. I'll call you if I need anything, okay? Talk to you soon, Bye." She hung up the phone and went back into the waiting room. Ryan asked who she had been talking to. "Oh, that was just Detective Taylor telling me he was on his way," Sara lied. "Thanks for the coffee. So, what have you been up to since I saw you last?" Sara asked, still unsure about where this conversation was going to lead.

"Oh if only I had my way, you wouldn't be walking out of here in one piece or even alive," Flack growled menacingly. He gripped Derrick's shirt and yanked him out of his seat, throwing him against the wall and nearly holding the smaller man off the floor. "Answer the question, Anderson. Why did you do that?"

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

Ryan sits at the table thinking of what to say to Sara. He likes her a lot still but just doesn’t feel like they have much of a chance of being together, too many conflicts and obstacles.
She walks back into the room and he looks up at her," hey, who was that?" She tells him Detective Taylor but something tells him she wasn't being truthful. He's a csi and part of his job is being able to tell when someone is lying, it's in the eyes. “Oh, ok well I hope his team is holding together about this." He says looking into her eyes still.
“Your welcome, it's free."
He puts his cup down on the table listening to her." I um had to look over some video of the area where the shooting took place. I think I may have found something interesting." He rubs his chin," anyways I wanted to tell you that I'm really sorry about what happen with us, with dinner and everything. I was really looking forward to getting to know you, spending some time with just you, but I couldn't turn my back on Cal, she's my friend. I really hoped you would have understood that."

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

Derrick looked at the male detective and said, "You're people will eventually figure it out."

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

"Ryan," Sara said, "I understand you and Calleigh are close, and that you wanted to help her out with Speed. I don't see how the two of us going out to dinner would have been turning your back on her. I think she would have understood, but I can't speak for her. I'm sorry things turned out the way they did too, but maybe it's for the best. In the end I have to wonder if we didn't end up having dinner with the people we were supposed to have dinner with--you with Calleigh and me with...Greg. I must admit I didn't see that coming. Besides now we're got this investigation to worry about and we've got to work together like professionals." She paused for a moment, and brushed her fingers against Ryan's hand, like she had in class. "It was fun while it lasted. Quite exciting in fact," she smiled. Ryan smiled back. Sara caught a glimpse of someone walking down the hall towards Sheldon's room. "Well, I think I need to get back to work, looks like Detective Taylor's here," Sara said, standing up. "Thanks again for the coffee, and for the chance to talk."

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

Stella ran her hand through her hair and looked at Danny, "Unless Mac did, I honestly do not know, I didn't even know he had one" she shrugged her shoulders, "Should we ask him before she does?"

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

Sara left the waiting room, entered Sheldon's room again and overheard Stella asking Danny if she should ask about the vest before Sara did. "Sorry Stella, but you can't be asking the questions here. That could be seen as tampering with a witness or with evidence. Believe it or not, I'm on your side. I'm trying to help you out here. So please, let my team and the Miami team do their jobs. I'm going to ask the two of you to come out into the hallway with me and wait until I can find Detective Taylor," Sara said. "Have either of you seen him? I thought I saw him heading down this way."

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

"I will" Mac replied. He also realized he was going to have to try to talk to Flack. Quickly, he rang Flack's cell, hoping he'd answer. He *had* to tell Flack that as much as they all wanted to pummel Derrick, he *had* to get out of there or the case could easily be jeopardized by CoI.

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

Sara spotted Detective Taylor out in the hallway, talking on his cellphone. She motioned to Ryan to bring the evidence bags over so that she could retrieve the vest. After Detective Taylor had finished his phone call, Sara brought the vest over to him. "Detective Taylor, thank you for coming out here," Sara said. "I haven't had the chance to question Hawkes about this yet, as he's still not ready to be questioned. I need to know if you recognize this vest as NYPD department issue, or if you think Hawkes might have purchased this for his own use. Also, I'll show you the lining inside, how it shows evidence of sabotage," she said showing Mac the how the lining had been slashed in several places down to the outer shell, allowing for a bullet to pierce the vest.

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

Mac peered closer, mentally hoping Flack answered his phone soon...he *really* didn't want to watch this guy go back on the street because Hawkes's colleague interrogated the perp.

"No, it's not one of ours" Mac breathed a bit easier at that confirmation. "I still have to wonder though how it was sabotaged. I have ideas, but I'm not speculating until I have evidence."

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

hi.

I was just wondering, since he hadn't been taken up on the front page, is Gil Grissom still available?

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

"Thank you, Detective Taylor," Sara said after he had inspected the vest. "While this removes the spotlight from focusing on the New York team, until I find out who had access to this vest besides Sheldon Hawkes, anybody could be a suspect. So keep in touch if you notice anything suspicious. I'll need to dust this for prints, then I'll turn it over to CSI Wolfe for processing," Sara said. She dusted the vest for prints and lifted several samples. She turned the vest and the print cards over to Ryan to take back to the Miami Crime lab. "Detective Taylor, if you'd like to accompany me, I'd like to see if Sheldon is ready for questioning now."
On her way to Sheldon's room she remembered something--Sheldon was supposed to be her and Calleigh's roommate. She quickly called Catherine on the phone. "Hi Cath, it's Sara. Turns out the vest is not department issue. But we've got a new wrinkle. Sheldon Hawkes was supposed to be rooming with me and Calleigh Duquesne, and if there's any chance that he left the vest in the room unattended that makes me and Calleigh look really suspicious right now. I was only in the room when I checked in, and I'm pretty sure that was before Hawkes arrived, but I'll know more when I question him. Then I went back to get my kit after the shooting happened, but he was wearing the vest at that point. One way or the other it looks like our room is a crime scene, so it will need to be processed for prints and something sharp enough to cut through several layers of kevlar. I'll have CSI Wolfe notify Calleigh about this new development. Thanks Cath." Sara hung up the phone and caught Ryan as he was heading back to the lab. "Ryan, wait. Tell Calleigh that our room may be a crime scene and that she might need to stay in someone else's room for tonight," Sara said.

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

Mac nodded, listening to what she said. He had to hang up his phone due to hospital rules but was still concerned. "All right. I just wish I could reach Detective Flack...he could be ruining our entire case by doing that interrogation and so far I haven't been able to get him. If nothing else, I'm heading over there as soon as I finish here."

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

After his talk with Sara, Ryan was getting ready to head back to the lab when Sara tells him that she and Calleigh's room may be a crime scene. "Your room how is that?" He asks wide eyed." Who is going to process it? I don't think you or Cal could, so do you want me to grab someone else and do it?"

Re: Murder at the Convention: ALL CSI:'s (An RP)

Catherine listened to Sara and said, "I'll go talk to Calleigh, see if she knows anything about the vest." SHe said as she walked out to her car. "Any thing from our vic?"

~~~
Sheldon Hawkes had just woken up from his sergery he knew that he was going to be questioned but he wanted to see his colligues before that happened.
