Misheard Lyrics.

I'm sure everyone mishears lyrics every now and then. I do it quite a lot. So here's some lyrics from Nightwish whoses used to have a singer had a finnish accent.

"Master!
Apprentice!
Heartporn, semen seeker!"

Real Lyrics-
Master!
Apprentice!
Heartborne, 7th Seeker

" Once upon a tale, an oklie docking"

Real lyrics-
Once upon a tale An Ugly Duckling

"However cold the wind and rain,
I'll be there to piss on your grave"

Real Lyrics:
However cold the wind and rain,
I'll be there to ease up your pain

I know I have some more but I think I'll wait til some people have posted theirs. :p

This isn't very funny, but I just found out the other day that in "Redneck Yacht Club" by Craig Morgan, he sings "That's Bob, he's our president". I thought he said "That's Bob, he's a resident" for the longest time!!

Tarja so didn't have Finnish accent on Wishmaster anymore! DAMNIT! On Angels Falls First she had but not on Oceanborn or Wishmaster. Wash your ears, lady!

And if you want to hear someone singing with Finnish accent... listen early songs of Sonata Arctica  Like "Shy" for example

WHen someone speaks English with Finnish accent... I swear it sounds so horrible that it's difficult to miss and Tarja doesn't sing like that.

Anyways... I would have one but I don't remember the original song :(

I have some good ones :p

"The reason we won"
Real lyrics:
"Erase and rewind" by The Cardigans

"My father don't"
Real lyrics:
"Not for the dough" by some crappy norwegian group called Multicyde

"Take your pants off, and make it happen"
Real lyrics:
"Take your passion, and make it happen" Irene Cara - Flashdance... What A Feeling

The last one is the only one I've misheard of those.. The others are from my friends

"The reason we won"
Real lyrics:
"Erase and rewind" by The Cardigans

Haha! I love that song! :) Good thing the song is not about "The reason we won" then, huh? Or else it would've been a song about football.

In my tween days I've thought for the longest time these were the lyrics of this song:

Backstreet Boys - 'Get Down'

Ooh baby you're so fineee..
I'm gonna make you mineee..
Your
lipstick tastes so sweetttt..

Then I found out it is this:

Ooh baby you're so fineee..
I'm gonna make you mineee..
Your
lips they taste so sweetttt..

And then it finally makes sense.

"However cold the wind and rain,
I'll be there to piss on your grave"

Real Lyrics:
However cold the wind and rain,
I'll be there to ease up your pain

 Oh my Lord that's hilarious :D I know there are some lyrics that I've messed up but I mess up most songs so it gets kind of hard to remember it all.

If any of you are interested, there's actually a website where people submit misheard lyrics, it's www.amiright.com or something of the sort.

Anyway...one of the funniest ones I've ever heard is from Prince's Little Red Corvette...

Little Red Corvette
Baby you're much too fat

When the actual lyrics are...

Little Red Corvette
Baby you're much too fast

Here's the correct lyrics for a line of No Doubt's Ex-Girlfriend:

I'm about to give you away for someone else to take

Here's what I heard:

I'm about to give you away to get me some clay

Here is another site for misheard lyrics :
www.kissthisguy.com

This site is named after probably the most famous misheard lyric of all time: from "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix. The real verse is
'scuse me, while I kiss the sky
while the misheard lyric is
'scuse me, while I kiss this guy

And, I can't believe no one yet mentioned "Bad Moon Rising" by Creedence Clearwater Revival (then again, you might be too young for that)

Real lyric:
There's a bad moon on the rise
Misheard lyric:
There's a bathroom on the right

Okay I am soo glad someone opened this thread, cuz my sister only remembers me for this incident:

There's a No Authority song called "Thinkin"... this is how I used to sing it:

"The love we have is just like puberty "

when its supposed to be
"the love we have is just like purity"

dont hit me, i'm not ALWAYS that stupid..

I want to add something to this. Because Tarja sings with opera voice and songs are quite fast. She has to do her breathing in different way than people who sing with "normal" voice and some words she says in a weird way so next word and breathing in general would be easier.
Because songs that she sings in Finnish (like Kuolema tekee taiteilijan) she sings some words in really weird way, especially words beginning with letter K.

Ah I see. :p Still in some words, she has finnish accent.

"It's all compost, played and told"..
It is all composed, played and told. Tarja in Dead Boys Poem

PUT A CAKE! Through my heart.
Put a stake! through my heart. Slaying the Dreamer- Nightwish

"Deadly badgers made my wreath"
Deadly patterns made my wreath Drapery Falls- Opeth

Oh yeah. I remember one more!

"Can I play with matches"
Can I play with madness- Can I play with madness?- Iron Maiden

:p Still...it's not that funny.

How come you know it's Finnish accent? Where else you've heard Finnish accent?

"It's all compost, played and told"..
It is all composed, played and told. Tarja in Dead Boys Poem

^If you've really heard it in that way... then I totally suggest you wash your ears.

Besides, real lyrics are
"It`s already composed, played and told"

I have to admit that with "Wishmaster" I had to read booklet to get the real lyrics. But I guess it's just the way she sings in that way in that song.

Glad it's not just me with that particular song - I've listened to it many times, and it wasn't until I recently checked out the actual lyrics to it that I found she's singing about something completely different to what I always thought   (and no, I'm not telling what I thought the song was about :p ).
