'Malice in Wonderland' Discussion Thread **SPOILERS**

Oh, ok. I did see it, I just didn't catch the entire line.

Why another skip next week? Is it the basketball finals?

How were we tricked about Grissom?? I don't recall anything saying he would be in this one or whatever.

Is it too much to ask for more than one case per episode? They need to mix it up some.

Nick's hair takes some getting used to, but I'm up for the challenge. He's still hot. ;)

Extremely obvious in the beginning when DB talked to that paramedic that he was involved somehow.

Nothing was said Grissom would make an appearance, but there were spoilers/hints about Grissom fans tuning in. I just had high hopes so I personally fell victim to it lol.

Well...his name was on the plant. :) And Sara did mention that he was living abroad.

Forgot to mention...Peter Brady!

True true true. Better than nothing I guess. Though I still wanted him physically there in person. I guess I'll have to suck it up lmao.

Man MacksGirlMel are you sure your game wasn't distracting you?? ;)

I never thought Grissom would actually appear but I liked that he sent her a plant. Nice throwback to an early season when he sent her one. But shouldn't the card have said 'Gil' not 'Grissom'?

I was skeptical when I first heard the whole "Hodges pretends Morgan is his girlfriend" thing but I think the show pulled it off well. Morgan was just trying to help Hodges out and in the end Hodges learned to be honest with his mother (who in turn was honest with him) and Morgan took a step towards her dad. Silly plot points that end in character development work for me.

DB and Finn had a bit of a Grissom/Catherine vibe in this episode.

Nick's hair is reaching porn 'stache levels of awfulness.

It was good to see Mandy. They should pull her out of the CSI Recurring Player Closet more often.

LOL. I was hoping for a little more, but at least we got something about Grissom and their marriage. The plant made me smile, but my favorite line was when Sara said her marriage was 'special'. I especially liked the way she said, 'Yes, it is.'; very emphatic and it was very meaningful for someone who we weren't sure whether or not she even believed in the institution of marriage. And she said it in front of Ecklie! (Ecklie looked almost stunned! LOL) Although, I have to say, I wasn't too happy about the 'living abroad' statement. (Why oh why, ptb!).

Hodges was great, and Morgan was really cute in this one. They played well off each other, especially at dinner when Hodges was describing their 'sexual tension'.

Mandy had some quality time, and it was great seeing her banter with Hodges (Eat me. LOL). I do wish she were on more often; she adds a lot to the lab scenes. I even enjoyed Ecklie. Mark Vann did a great job throughout, and I thought it was nice seeing he and Sara work together; they have certainly come a long way. It's almost funny, and certainly ironic, that Ecklie was the one she was actually talking to about her marriage.

Misc:
Favorite pop culture line of the episode: 'Go ask Alice.' I couldn't get the song, White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane, out of my head the rest of the night.
I also liked the actress who played the serial bride-to-be.
When they found the guy killed by swallowing molten gold, I couldn't help thinking of the guy that was killed in Game of Thrones with a 'crown' of molten gold. Incredibly brutal, but pretty awesome visually.

The crime of the week wasn't all that intriguing, but this episode seemed to be more about relationships: Hodges and his mom, Ecklie and Morgan, DB and his wife, Finn and someone/soulmate ? (who I assume she was crying about at the end), and Sara and Grissom. All but Finn seemed to have a happy ending. I guess we'll find out about that at a later time.

8.5/10 from me. Entertaining, with extra points for a little GSR. :)

I agree, we need more than one case per episode. They started this season that way and it disappeared this whole second half. :shifty:

I thought the same exact thing about the paramedic in the beginning. I thought, somehow this guy has something to do with this.

Sorry but Nick's hair just makes me laugh.

Well it was better that Morgan was the one who came up and said she was his girlfriend than Hodges just picking her.

I think they missed an opportunity to make Greg a bit jealous since he never got to know about the date.

I saw Peter Brady!

Overall not a fave of mine but better than a couple this season. Just some of the story was sort of cheesy to me.

I really liked seeing Ecklie have a bigger role this episode seeing as how Brass wasn't in it. I'm still not sure why Morgan came to Vegas to work with him if she's going to continue to act shitty toward him. BUT...maybe after this episode that's changing. Hopefully she came because she wanted to work on the relationship and now she's coming around...thanks to Hodges!

One case. To me it's just such a waste to have Greg suddenly appear twenty minutes in or to have Nick at the crime scene right off but then disappear until he's shown sitting in the AV lab. Good to see a bit more Sara, but as much as I love DB and Morgan (iffy still on Finn), I wouldn't tune in anymore if the regulars weren't still there. And right now they're barely there.

I agree, it is turning into the DB, Finn and Morgan show. I get that TPTB want to give them storylines because they are new, but it should not be at the expense of characters and actors who have been on since the beginning - it is not fair to them or their fans.

^^ I agree with both of you. Since Finn came on, the show seems to become all about the newbies and the originals are mostly backup to them. So far Finn is opening each episode with DB.

Thankfully in this episode Hodges was in the main story, so one cast member who has been there for a long time had some good stuff.

Where was Peter Brady? Somehow I seemed to have missed him LOL.

"They didn't have guns in the book" haha.

"Alice" tells the CSIs how "Hatter" (sorry don't remember the characters' actual names lol) proposed. That sounds like a creative proposal.

Hodges asked Mandy to pretend to be his girlfriend and she held up the "eat me" card LOL.

Drive through weddings... only in Vegas.

Greg asking the couple how much the ring is worth and girl saying "you can't put a price on love" and the guy saying "a little over half a million" and then Greg saying "that's a lot of love" heh.

Greg: I know its not technically your wedding night, but I'm going to need you to remove your clothes.

Didn't really expect Morgan to agree to Hodges' rouse, let alone make the first move on it. Her feeling sorry for him was very evident in her face when she overheard his conversation with his mom. It was nice of her to come to his rescue like that, but I think Hodges should have been honest with his mom to begin with. Why couldn't he just say, "I don't have a girlfriend right now because I'm still working on getting over Wendy"... or something like that?

Liked Ecklie working the case with them.

Scalding hot gold (fools gold or not) down the throat... what a bad way to go.

Ecklie likes Hodges' mom hehe. I can't believe Hodges said "sexual tension" in front of Ecklie though LOL. But, ugh, Hodges, why did you have to remind us of the Haskell thing? LOL.

Loved Hodges' mom in the ambulance. He was fast to put the needle in that girl. Brave move.

The husband protected the wife, but she turned on him without much hesitation lol.

Mrs. Hodges: He wasn't a count. It's possible he may not even know how to. :guffaw:

The funeral is Alice themed too? Okay, that's a little weird. I've never heard of themed funerals before.

Liked that Morgan got that food for her and her dad. Hopefully those two will work out their differences.

Not a bad episode, but could have used more of my boys (Nick and Greg).
