Carmine Giovinazzo is one of the hottest guys on CBS having played Detective Danny Messer on CSI: NY since the pilot episode in 2004. This summer he jumped into the headlines after his unexpected marriage to General Hospital star Vanessa Marcil.
While he does his best to keep a low profile, here’s what we know about Carmine Giovinazzo .
Family. There’s a reason that playing a detective looks natural to him. Carmine is the son of a police officer. His parents Nancy and Dominick Giovinazzo raised him in Staten Island, New York. In addition to his dad, his family has a long history of being police officers.
Athlete. Carmine Giovinazzo was an avid athlete in his youth. Throughout school he played a variety of sports with baseball and roller hockey being his favorites. Going into college, he had his eye on becoming a professional baseball player until he was sidelined by a back injury.
Actor. After his dream of playing in the big leagues was dashed, Carmine decided to try his hand at acting. He followed his new found dream to Los Angeles in 1997 and very quickly landed a role in the pilot episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He holds the title of being the very first on-screen victim in the series. As an actor he appeared in For the Love of the Game and Black Hawk Down before landing his role on CSI: NY.
Musician. During his off-time Carmine Giovinazzo is a musician who writes songs and plays the guitar. He is the lead vocalist of a band called Ceesau. (Check out the video found of him taking a turn at drums below!)
Husband. Giovinazzo tied the know with General Hospital Vanessa Marcil on July 11, 2010 in a private ceremony in New York.
