Wow this one is hard, guys' :) I think this was one of those competitions with pictures that "Less is More" stands out.. Lovely icons to everyone- you've all done great ones :D

03- I get what you're trying do, since the picture fits what I'm sure you have in your mind. However, you cut off half her chin. Perhaps next time- making the picture a bit smaller (resizing more) will work. I like the brush you used, but maybe it should have been in a different colour, since there isn't much white in the picture anyhow- and you can't really see it.

07- I like the crop, I like your icon, but I think you could've made it work with what you had. The three coloured boxes look funny, and out of place. The one thing in icons that make it seem odd is when you don't use colours that just don't match. I mean, I don't see any red except in that box.. Maybe using a green would have worked, but still i'm just not catching the drift of those boxes.

05- I loved this icon, but I think you overdid it when you added the second Emily above the bottom. Again, the colouring just doesn't match the icon. She's wearing white, she has brownish/red neckless/scarf thing- and you've got a second pink one of her. I think it would've been great alone, with the bottom picture. I like the brush, and the border though :)

03. Unfortunate cropping which doesn't make the most of the image
05. Very busy icon with nothing to centrally draw the eye to, and the light texture is overpowering
01. Lovely idea and great idea but it lacks definition and looks a little 'washed out'

Lovely icons everyone! Have I mentioned that Emily is gorgeous? :lol:

05. The top image doesn't quite seem to fit in with the rest of the icon. Also, there seems to be a lightflare or something along those lines that is somewhat overpowering.

01. The colours somehow seem to be washed out. Perhaps a different colour background would help as well.

04. This is going to sound odd, but Emily seems either blurry or oversharpened, and I can't quite tell which. The colours also seem to be muted.

Good job everyone! I've been so busy lately and when I almost was asleep last Saturday I remembered I needed to make an icon :lol:. Ah well, I sure did have fun and thanks Ann for running the challenge.

03 - the cropping is a bit odd.
05 - the mirror effect is a bit overpowering, though it's a very good idea.
04 - the icon is too red.

This was very difficult to choose from because they are all fantastic!

03 - Odd crop
05 - The upper Emily is a little blurry and the colouring is a tad overpowering with regards to the rest of the icon.
02 - a little dark/ too much contrast

and yeah Elsie, i managed, lol. it took me FOREVER though ;)

i've got a question quoth. i'm actually curious how do you count votes. do you give a point for every vote no matter if it was mentioned first, second or third or do you do it in the way icon challenges are done (3 points for the first, 2 for the second and one for third)? i'm just wondering :p

Adz, I go by the method Vera taught me :) I give one vote for each icon regardless of first/second/third placement first, then if two or more icons tie for a certain place I take into account first/second/third, and then for first it gets 3, second 2, third 1, etc :)

wow,I think that's a weird way of counting the votes and not very fair imho because it doesn't matter if you vote an icon as the 1º or the 3º.
I'd rather prefer the 3 points for the 1º 2 for the 2º and 1 for the 3º. :)
