The Los Angeles skyline shown fron 5 different angles in flashed of the Los Angeles Highways and open dirt valleys.
A long street outside a bunch of large warehouses. Late at night the rain is coming down soaking the red sedan heading down the street towards a metal doorway of one of the warehouses. The sedan's lights are off trying to keep itself hidden in the rain fall. The sedan slowly creeps to a halt mounting the kerb and it's brake lights flashing on for only a few seconds before the handbrake parking light comes on.
Inside the car there is a man in a long dark trench coat and black pants and a grey jumper. As he takes his hand off the handbrake he wipes his wet hand on the bottom of his trench coat. Over the radio the radio caster is talking about the last feature.
RADIO CASTER: Now how about the rain? Still going after an hour and it should continue to the morning. So anyway back to our main piece the latest fossils that date back to the age of the dinouars are going to be going on show from tuesday at the Nature History museum right here in L.A. And now for you listeners this is Bill Withers with Ain't No Sunshine.
Just as the musi begins to play the man leans over and switches the radio off as he pulls his keys out of the car. As he takes off his seat belt his gun holster on his belt is freed. The man glances over at the warehouse door through the rain swept driver's window. He pulls his weapon out. It's a Beretta. He ejects the clip and checks the clip quickly before sliding the clip back into the Beretta and pulls back the top, sliding a bullet into the chamber ready. He flicks the saftey on and slides the Beretta back into his holster as he pulls something out of his pocket. The man opens the glovebox and throws the item inside before shutting the glovebox again.
MAN: I can do this.
The driver quickly gets out of the car and turns locking it. As the rain begins to come down on him he drops his car keys into his trench coat pocket and pulls his grey jumper down to cover the holster.
The man pulls his trench coat collar up and hurries across the street looking round for any witnesses. As he gets to the door he glances back up and down the street then carefully opens the door letting light shine out the doorway into the dark street. He steps inside the brightly lit room.
As the door shuts the rain swept street is plunged back into darkness again. Then there is silence. The silence only lasts a few seconds when suddenly there is two loud bangs. Then silence again with only the rain that can be heard.
The screen goes to black as The Who, The Relay song begins to play as it shows CSI: Los Angeles.
A bright white light is pulled away from the screen and shows the face of Supervisor CSI Amber Donoghue. She is in her late thirties as she is checking over the body with latex gloves on as her curly brown hair just past shoulder blades slips over her shoulder. Her bright blue thin almond shaped eyes scan over the victim. She is both tall and slim but at the moment she is crouched over the body so her tall frame is hidden. Next to her is her silver CSI case.
Amber flashes her pen light torch over the large room with the body not far from the doorway. There is a large stall of boxes on the right hand side wall and a table with cut wires glasses and jars on the left side of the room. Amber is wearing cream coloured pants and a white blouse with a cream coloured waist coat to match with white boots with her weapon holstered on her right hand hip and her badge on her waist coat pocket.
Just behind her there is noise as detective Karrie Symonds enters the room. Karrie Symonds is in her mid twenties with honey blonde streaks in her naturally long brown hair and sparkling blue eyes. The detective is wearing a black pair of pants with white pin stripes and a red blouse with a black jacket with white pin stripes aswell and black high heeled boots. The detective has her Beretta in holster on her left hand hip with her badge on the right side of her belt. Karrie enters looking at Amber as she holds her notepad.
AMBER: Didn't take you long to interview the witness.
KARRIE: He said and i quote I got a call about noise at my warehouse. I came in and found him. So i freaked and called you guys. Sorry girls. End quote. Some help.
Karrie flicks her notepad shuts and slips it into her jacket pocket. Just then two more CSI's enter through the door. A young woman in her late twenties comes in with her white latex gloves on and a silver CSI case. Jean Strawson has long flame red hair down to her waist with Green eyes and dark olive skin. As she nods over to both Amber and then Karrie. She is a CSI level 3 wearing black pants and a white fitted t shirt with a a brown leather jacket on her tall 5'10 frame. Her badge is round her neck and her holster is clipped onto her belt round her back.
Behind her is Stephen Wright with short brown spikey hair and deep blue eyes. He is in his mid twenties and is a level 2 CSI wearing dark blue jeans and a black shirt. His board shoulders helping his shirt fit better. His belt has both his holster and a CSI badge. He is wearing his latex gloves and has a silver case and a camera round his neck.
STEPHEN: Hey ladies. Hey Karrie.
KARRIE: Back at you Ste.
AMBER:You two take the room. I'll work the body.
Both Stephen and Jean both take a side of the room each. Jean heads over and begins to check over the boxes as Stephen begins to check over the table next to Karrie.
Both Stephen and Jean click on their pen lights and begin searching round. Jean spots some white dust on the floor.
She kneels down placing her kit down and pulling out a plastic bag and a small knife. She scraps some of the dust up and slips it into the bag sealing it.
JEAN: I have some white powder here. It doesn't look like drugs but i will know more when i get back to the lab.
Stephen begins checking the wires and looking at the glasses on the table. He spots a couple of finger prints.
STEPHEN: I have a couple of fingerprints here. Might get us a name.
Amber reaches inside the victims trench coat and pulls out his car keys. She turns to Stephen and passes them over.
AMBER: You check out his car. It should be nearby. Let me know what you find.
Stephen takes the keys and nods.
STEPHEN: No worries boss.
Stephen heads ouside and begins to head over to the only car that isen't a police car a red sedan.
Amber turns back to the body and lifts the man's head. There is one round to his spine just below the neck and another round to his temple. The man is the same man from the intro.
AMBER: He was shot twice. He has no ID on him.
KARRIE: In a building like this sounds like a drug deal gone wrong to me.
Amber reaches down the side of his body and feels a holster. She pulls out a Beretta and ejects the clip counting the bullets.
KARRIE: He was packing?
AMBER: And he didn't even get to fire.
JEAN: Ambushed?
Just then Amber's phone goes off and Amber pulls it out her pocket it shows the caller as Stephen.
She flicks the phone open and answers it.
AMBER: Yeah. Right ok. Thanks.
She flicks her phone shut and places it back in her pocket.
AMBER: We have to get the body out of here now before this place is calling with feds.
KARRIE: Why?
AMBER:Our dead body is an F.B.I officer.
Both Jean and Karrie look in surpise at each other.
A large old abandoned train warehouse that has been converted into CSI building complete with Morgue in the staff quarters building.
Amber Donoghue is walking down a long dark corridor with small long thin lighting across one side of the wall. She is now wearing a white lab coat. Most of the train yard has kept it's original features as the corridor is a long walkway on the third floor which connects the old main train warehouse to the staff quarters building. Halfway down the corridor there are two windows letting light in from outside. Looking out of the windows there are still two large disused cranes that once lifted the trains round. Now almost 100 years on the buildings are shadows of there former selves.
As Amber Donoghue walks down the corridor towards a pair of double doors she is on her mobile to someone. Little does she or the rest of her team know that what was about to come was far worse than anyone could have thought.
AMBER: Hey it's good talking to you. H. I will have to come down and see you sometime........... Yeah don't worry i will keep a look out for the feds...... Yeah i will. Talk to you soon H.
As Amber enters through the double doors she says the last line. From behind a laptop computer screen a young, long black haired woman stands up. She is about 5'6 and is the assistant of the doctor of the Morgue. She is wearing a long black skirt and a black tank top that has a open white blouse over it and a blue lab coat buttoned up over it. She flicks her hair back off her small framed glasses showing her hazel eyes and delicate features. She smiles as Amber enters and heads round to her. Her name is Jessica Garner.
JESSICA: Boyfriend?
AMBER: No. Just a close friend in Miami.
The Morgue has a low ceiling with low lighting on every wall. One wall is completely covered with cooling doors to hous the bodies that are still John or Jane Does or need to be put on ice. In the corner there are four large beams of light aimed on the two tables in the centre of the room. One table has the body of the F.B.I officer on it. He has now been stripped of his clothing and has a long white cloth covering his lower half. His chest stomach and head are all exposed. On the other table the young assistant has placed her lap top.
AMBER: So where is the doctor?
JESSICA: Getting a ear full from the Feds in the other room.
AMBER: They are here. That was fast.
JESSICA: No over the phone. So i will have to walk you through the body.
AMBER: So what have you got for me Jessica?
Jessica takes a pair of white latex gloves from a pot and places them on.
JESSICA: The fed took two rounds. The first was a through his back just between his shoulder blades. It passed straight through his windpipe forcing air to chest plate. However without the air getting into his lungs he would of been gasping for breath.
Jessica rolls the body onto his side so Amber can see the bullet hole between his shoulder blades.
AMBER: He had a weapon. Why didn't he pull it?
JESSICA: He may have been surpised. Also when your gasping for breath he mostly likely didn't even think of his weapon.
AMBER: True.
JESSICA: The bullet did however lodge in his rib cage between the third and four rib. It's over on the side there with his clothes ready for process.
AMBER: How about the second shot?
JESSICA: The second round bigger in size passed through the front of his temple. Just missing his brain but clipped his spinal cord right below his brain stem. That's what killed him.
AMBER: Did you remove the second round?
JESSICA: Yes. We found it in his spine lodged between his first and second vertabrae. It's bagged with the other evidence. You also got a set of his fingerprints. Also i just spotted a chemical substance on his left hand.
Jessica leans over and takes hold of his left hand opening his palm. Amber pulls a swab out of her lab coat pocket and runs it over the man's hand. She then clips the brown protecter over the cotton swab.
AMBER: Thanks. You really work fast.
JESSICA: We put a rush on it so the feds wouldn't get it first.
AMBER: Right. Now i got to get this to my team.
Amber walks over to the bags and collects the two bullets in paper bags, the large brown paper bag of his clothes and the file of paper with his fingerprints on it. Amber heads out the door.
JESSICA: Oh and your welcome.
Jessica turns back round and heads over to her lap top and continues to enter her findings.
(Hi. Just to let you know please leave feedback on the story whether it is good or bad. I just want to know what you all think of the new team and the story. Thanks.)
I agree with Mel. Plus I like the names. I always have issues coming up with good, original names, so I'm pretty impressed. Keep up the great work!
The Los Angeles Crime lab is divided into many sections of the main train warehouse. From the metal walkway on the second and third floors leads down to the ground floor level. The weapons locker and gun range is placed in the left hand corner of the warehouse with the bosses office directly above it.
The main trace room is set in the middle of the crime lab with both the locker area and print lab. While down the other end of the warehouse one of the large train doors opens as the F.B.I agents car is brought in for processing.
There are three CSI's all in the lunch area. There is a young 21 year old man that has just transferred from patrol. He is wearing a pair of black jeans and a blue t shirt that fits his strong chest well with brown boots. He has his feet on the table as he drinks from a can of coke. He is 6 foot tall with short blonde hair flat to his head and blue eyes. As the rookie of the group Joseph King is only CSI level 1.
Sat across from him is the second in command CSI Bruce Heck. He is in his late thirties with short jet black hair that comes to a fringe just above his eyes. His eyes are a deep and caring brown. He is wearing a grey pair of pants with a purple shirt with his top button open. His grey jacket is over his seat behind him. He is eating a chicken sandwich in his right hand and his left thumb is playing with his wedding ring.
Jean Strawson is back at the lab behind them making a cup of coffee. She is holding a couple of bags of evidence as her soaking wet hair is plastered to her head.
Stephen Wright comes down the hall and leans on the door looking into the lunch room. He is holding a plastic bag of evidence.
JOSEPH: You look a little wet.
JEAN: That's an understatement.
STEPHEN: Hey people we have to work fast on this case.
JOSEPH: Oh and why is that?
Stephen turns the evidence bag round to show the F.B.I agent's badge inside the bag.
Bruce quickly puts his sandwich down and spots Amber coming up behind Stephen. As Amber enters the room Joseph quickly takes his feet off the table. Amber is holding a bunch of evidence bags.
AMBER: Right everyone listen up. We got a dead F.B.I agent and we don't have alot of time to work.
BRUCE: The Feds should be in here within the hour.
AMBER: We may have less time than that. So Ste is the car here?
STEPHEN: They just brought it in now.
AMBER: Great you and Bruce take the car. Remember you got to work fast.
BRUCE: We're on it.
Bruce quickly gets up taking his jacket and throwing his sandwich in the trash can. He heads round to Stephen and they begin heading down to the garage. Amber looks up at Jean.
AMBER: Is that the evidence from the warehouse?
JEAN: Yes. The white powder i found and the glass jars aswell as the fingerprints on them.
AMBER: Ok. Drop them off at the trace and print lab with this chemical i got from the F.B.I agent's hand and his fingerprints. Then i need you to check the bullets we pulled from his body..
JEAN: Got it.
Jean heads over taking the fingerprint file aswell as the chemcial swab and the bullets from Amber and begins to head over to Trace. Amber turns round and begins to head out.
JOSEPH: Wait. What do i get?
AMBER: Your on the victim's clothing with me.
Joseph jumps up and catches up to Amber as they head towards the lab.
(Also thanks to MacsGirlMel and Jenna_Caine for replying to my scenes so far. I hope to hear more from you both.)
The CSI lab in the layout room stands Amber Donoghue and Joseph King. They are both wearing a pair of white gloves as they are standing next to each other. They both take a large brown bag in front of them from the group of large brown bags and Chris Cornell's Can't change me begins to play.
Amber opens her bag and begins to remove the jacket of the F.B.I officer. She places it on the table and pulls a large magnifing scope over it and begins checking the jacket. She checks the collar of the jacket moving down the arms and onto the edges.
Joseph King opens a bag and pulls out a pair of black shoes. He begins checking for any marks on them before he turns them over and carefully checks the trends of the shoes looking for any clues.
Meanwhile in the garage Stephen Wright and Bruce Heck have begun working on the F.B.I officer's car. They carefully check the tires before moving into the car. Stephen Wright opens the passenger side door wearing latex gloves and begins scanning the passenger seat and floor with his light.
Bruce Heck opens the back door behind the driver's seat and slowly scans his pen light over the back seat. The seat is clear and looks like no one has been in it for a while. He scans his light down and spots a peice of paper poking out under the driver's seat. He reaches down and pulls it out. He flicks it round in his latex gloved hand to see it is a menu for a upscale resturant in New York.
Stephen moves round to the driver's side and opens the door. He checks the seat to find nothing. As his light scans over the floor he spots next to the gas pedal a peice of red wiring. He reaches in and picks it up before putting it in a plastic bag. Then he continues his search of the car with Bruce.
In the trace lab Jean Strawson has already placed the white powder under the scope and is just looking through it. It is a white crystal substance. She checks through the computer monitor and gets a picture match. Jean then takes the chemical swab out and a test tube. Jean cuts a small piece of the cotton swab into the glass and squirts water into the test tube. Then she takes a liquid needle and takes the water out placing it into a tiny capsule tube and screws the lid on. Jean places it into the mass spectrometer and waits for the results from the printer.
Back in the lay out room Amber and Joseph have gone through all the clothes. Amber is checking the pants when she pulls back the fold on his pant ankle to find a brown curly long hair that had gotten trapped inside the fold. Amber collects it in a tape lift and takes it to D.N.A lab.
As the music fades out all the CSI's are in the lay out room as the clothes are over the table. Amber is standing at one end of the table with Stephen and Bruce on her left and Jean and Joseph on her right.
AMBER: So lets hear it. What have you got Jean?
Jean opens a brown file she has in her hands and begins to read.
JEAN: The white chemcial was sand. beach sand to be presice but that wasen't the big find. The chemcial swab from his hand was Nitro Glycerine.
JOSEPH: Jesus explosives.
AMBER: How about you two?
STEPHEN: I found a piece of wiring next to the gas pedal it matches the wiring found on the table in the warehouse.
BRUCE: I also found a menu for a resturant in New York called La Seal.
AMBER: I also found a link to New York. The hair i found in the F.B.I agent's pant fold had a skin tag on it. We matched it to a New York CSI named Stella Bonasera. I have spoken to a CSI Mac Taylor and said we are sending someone over to meet him. Stephen your taking a trip. There's a helicopter on the roof waiting for you.
STEPHEN: You got it Amber.
AMBER: Now if we can just keep the F.B.I off our backs a little longer.
Stephen leaves the room and heads off to get his kit and leave. The rest of the CSI's begin to check the evidence when Bruce spots two men in suits having a word with a police officer.
BRUCE: Amber we got a problem. The F.B.I are here.
(Thank you for you feedback on my story and welcome Amanda_Ruth. What does everyone think of the two songs i have picked so far in the episode? I hope you will all enjoy the story and i would love to hear more comments or feedback on my story.)
After a few mintues the F.B.I officers head over towards the doorway and Amber quickly heads out to meet them with Bruce close behind her.
Both the F.B.I officers look quite annoyed and mad as they try to stare down at Amber and Bruce.
The taller and board of the two officers begins to speak addressing Amber directly.
F.B.I OFFICER: We have reason to beleive that you are working on an F.B.I matter.
AMBER: And what matter would that be?
F.B.I OFFICER: The death of our agent Paul Walk.
BRUCE: Finally we have a name for him.
F.B.I OFFICER: You will hand over everything you found at the crime scene right now to us.
AMBER: And why would we do that?
F.B.I OFFICER: F.B.I outrank C.S.I.
BRUCE: Really?
F.B.I OFFICER: This is not your case.
AMBER: A murder took place here that makes it our case.
F.B.I OFFICER: He is a fedal agent.
AMBER: He's still a person which makes it our case.
F.B.I AGENT: Look we could rip apart your entire lab for the evidence or like this court order states you can hand it over. Either way we don't care.
The smaller of the two agents hands Bruce a court order and Bruce begins to read through it as Amber watches both agents.
BRUCE: Amber it's true.
F.B.I OFFICER: Now we want all the evidence from the case.
Just then both Jean and Joseph walk over. Jean is just shutting her mobile phone. Jean looks over at Amber and rolls her eyes when she looks at the F.B.I.
JEAN: Call just came through. We have a four nineteen in a downtown warehouse district.
AMBER: Ok. Me you and Bruce will head down there now.
F.B.I AGENT: Miss Donoghue the evidence?
AMBER: Yes. Joseph if you would help these officers with any evidence they need.
JOSEPH: No problem. Come with me guys.
F.B.I AGENT: it's agent Williams actually.
JOSEPH: So. Come on guys.
Joseph turns and begins walking down towards the evidence room with both the F.B.I agents right behind him.
Amber, Bruce and Jean all turn round and begin heading towards the carpark as they start talking.
AMBER: Did we get all the evidence we needed?
JEAN: Sure thing. Me and Joseph made copies of all the evidence.
AMBER: No one lets them know we know about the New York connection.
BRUCE: Joseph knows to keep his mouth shut.
AMBER: We can read the reports on the way to the crime scene. Jean you drive.
Jean ducks into the lab and grabs four brown folders of evidence and jumps back out to meet the group. As they head out into the carpark Jean hands the folders over to Bruce. Bruce jumps into the back of the black Land Rover as Amber gets into the passenger seat and Jean in the driver's seat.
Jean starts the engine as Bruce flicks the folder open. They all begin talking as they head out of the carpark.
