i'm in the uk so were only about half way through season 4 and anyone who has seen the rest, does Horatio ever call ryan ryan instead of mr wolfe?

I can't think of specific examples, but once in a while he does. What gets me is when he calls Calleigh "ma'am".

In Season 4 it was the episode 'urban hellraisers'.
The scene at the roof of the building with the helicopter.

In Season 5 he called him 'Ryan' in the episode 'Death Eminent'.

maybe in other episodes too, don't know.
I watch most of the time the german dubbed versions and in these Horatio calls him very often 'Ryan'.
