Jorja Fox Takes Us Inside ‘CSI’

CSI Files

Captain
Actress Jorja Fox (Sara Siddle) of ‘CSI’ recently gave TV & Satellite Week a tour of the show’s set, describing the various rooms and the effect some of the scenes have on her.

Fox described the crime lab on set as being one of the best equipped labs in the US. Much of the equipment used is given to the show by the companies that make it and they have a technical expert on set everyday. “I could probably use the equipment to fingerprint and identify bodily fluids, but most other things vanish from my brain as soon as I do them,” the actress says.

According to Fox, the office belonging to William Petersen’s character Gil Grissom is a beautiful reflection of the character. There’s usually a crossword puzzle on the desk. There are also some insider jokes, such as one of Jerry Bruckheimer’s business cards in a desk drawer and there used to be a Billy Bass singing fish on the door until it had to be taken down because people kept setting it off. “I try to block out the things in the jars on the shelves, like the in vitro pig,” she says.

Although the show initially used an unused morgue as the autopsy room, they decided to get their own when a dead body was dropped off by mistake. The autopsy room used now is state-of-the-art. “I love doing scenes in there, but I do have days where I have to skip lunch because the special effects are so good and getting grosser. There was one story with some mangled legs and I thought I was going to pass out,” Fox reveals.

Hi. There's a typo in the url link. This is the correct one. ;)

I don't like the way they wrote the last bit of the article. They made it look like the C/G fans were the only people who didn't like the last scene of season 6, which is not true. Some of the C/G fans disliked the scene, some didn't care, some just shrugged it off and a big part of the people who criticized that scene were either fans supporting other ships or non-shippers at all.

Thanks for the correct link. Well, they said, "Many fans," though I agree that those fans did not soley emcompass the Grillows faction. All other ship factions have been affected by WTG... I guess it's the easiest one to draw parallels with, though, since I think Grillows and Snickers are the two biggest ships besides GSR. I think those three are the biggest, at least from my experience (and I'm in two of 'em!).

There are also those of us who don't like any ships. ;) But a lot of us tend to not care as long as it stays well in the background of episodes. :)

Jorja still sounds like a blast to me. I'd love to hang out with her. Although she definitely sounds more squeamish than I am.
