After their phone conversation, although H is obviously concerned about Ray Jnr, he gives a little smile. He's pleased Yelina has asked him to help, and H can be the protector again (as opposed to Stetler - I'm thinking back to the end of 'Pro Per' here). Aww.

Yeah I had a pretty good idea that Horatio liked being the protector for the first 3 years Ray Snr was gone like the time in season 1 where Yelina asked him to talk to ray Jnr about his fighting at school.
