Re: Horatio & Yelina #7 - "So Much Unresolved Love" (we quot
Thanks for the pics
Luce, like everyone said, I don't think we'd ever get tired of them. 'Simple Man' where it all began.
I just watched 'Rio', twice, I taped it. Apart from the opening where thay had to flashback to Marisol where I cringed, it was awesome. I must say I wasn't disappointed at all although it did feel a little rushed, I wish they didn't have to squeeze in two storylines, that would have left more time for the main story which was H/Y-centric.
I loved the very first H/Y scene when Y just senses H's presence in her garden and there's bounce in her step as she hurries to him. And she's so apologetic that things didn't work out for Ray and her in Brazil and H is quick to point out it's not her fault. I had one thought, if H knows his brother like he claims then he would have known he's go back to his old ways, why'd he send them off to Brazil anyway? Maybe he has too much faith in the people he loves. I like how they made most of the H/Y scenes seem to be in slower motion, was quite poetic and sadly beautiful.
My only gripe is when H goes to Y just after Ray Sr dies and he doens't even offer a word of comfort to her. He was the dutiful bro-in-law, helping make arrangements for the body but the writers could have made him stop for a second to tell her he was sorry Ray died, but he didn't. I suppose his concern was to find Ray Jr at that point but still it would've only taken a second for him to show her some compassion. I also hated how he'd go to her have some talk about Ray Jr then hurry off again, leaving her hanging, no wonder she felt compelled to go to Miami and find Ray Jr herself. It was all robo-H in Brazil and he had only one thing in mind, revenge. He was like void of all emotion, even his "I love you" to Ray's body, was emotionless.
Only when they got back to Miami was there a hint of emotion in his voice when Y tells H about Ray's friend in the hospital, and H tells her "we'll talk later", well at least he didn't leave her hanging there.
I loved the part where H kills what's-his-name, they guy who was going to shoot Ray Jr, and later he asks Ray if he's ok, and instead of answering him, Ray Jr asks him back are you ok, and H finally had smile on his face, and he replied to Ray Jr I'm ok. That was a nice moment between uncle and nephew. And at last a human moment for H. He had his revenge and Ray's safe. H is back to normal, more or less. It also shows Ray Jr still loves and respects his uncle alot. I hope we see more Ray Jr in s6.
And the last H/Y scene, that was way sweet. Finally there's emotion in H's eyes as he talks to Y and they exchange looks of longing, and he finally smiled his smile to her. That was so sweet. And the "family" answer he gave Y, that was a nice touch too. He assures her he still is there for her and has feelings for her. It's a pity tptb didn't capilise on that and waited till the end of s5 with 'Burned' to carry on what was left from there.
Aside from that the cinematography in Brazil was pretty awesome, I mean H and later Eric with 'Christ the Reedeemer' as the backdrop, it was real nice scenery.
Wow that was along review, sorry, but I loved the episode, and this is OT but I loved the Calleigh being boss-for-a-day story too. Loved how she handled Ryan, sorry OT, but I've always liked CaRWash a little bit.
Oh and another naughty thought, Y's dress was way revealing, how come H didn't jump her? She looked amazing in that white dress. Now I have to wait almost another five months or so before 'Burned'... I'll just enjoy the rest of s5 till I get there.
And lastly, fic update:
