The "with" part would imply a steady measured progression of their storyarc BUT they and we never really had any delivery of this kind. Yes, we had wonderful individual scenes and snippets but they were for the most part disjointed and incoherent when taken in context of their overarching storyarc

Well said. And I agree there was never any H with Y, so he couldn't be without her in the first place. She was never his to begin with.

On this same note, well deserved kudos to SM and DC for having the singular ability to infuse their characters with such believability in word and deed of their own making.

Yes kudos to them indeed. They do play it out so well regardless of the writing, and have all of us hanging from our seats waiting for one of them to make the first move. Which I do hope one of them does soon. To make things up to us tptb should at the very least schedule SM to be back in some episodes in s6 not just two like in s5, or offer her a contract back as a regular.

Lucy again that pic is familair. The fact that H is wriggly makes me think it's an episode dealing with something H is trying to keep from Y. But the clothes H is wearing reminds me of 'Simple Man', so I do sound like I'm contradicting myself here.

That aside I do miss seeing wriggly H and I hope with Y's return he'll be his wriggly old self around her again.

So do I and it really was a truly dreadful feeling. We were quite literally stunned.
Since it's resurfaced, I wanted to touch on AD's "reasoning" of tossing SM out in order to have a season of "H without Y". I find this quite an inane statement. The unfortunate overall approach from SM's intro to her exit has never seen any "Y with H" or a "H with Y". The "with" part would imply a steady measured progression of their storyarc BUT they and we never really had any delivery of this kind.

Inane is absolutely right for the reason stated. Very well said. ;) It's been said many times before, but there was so much potential that could have been explored, but instead we were left well and truly in limboland.
So let us have no more of this sort of attempt at self-justification to explain the ignominious mistake that resulted in S4 and S5.

I too am fed up with this facade. What we need is an indication that the writers do intend to pursue the H/Y storyarc in a sustained and meaningful manner from now on. Not sure if we are going to get that any time soon, but new H/Y screentime is certainly a step in the right direction, and we'll have to see where we go from there. :)

Well, tonight we'll find out if next week's reunion, if you will, will be worthy enough to make the promo, as the kiss between two other characters was for last week's. I guess I'll find out in about 5 hours.
Regarding what you said, Lucy, I think that Yelina's return after almost a full season's absence is a good sign as well, because it would seem quite silly to do what they did with Stetler: slip him in an episode for a few minutes then slip him back into the depths of obscurity. Sure they would do that with characters such as Stetler and Cooper, who are mere recurring characters, but hopefully not with Yelina, who was once a regular character. I am, however, hanging on to what Corey Miller said about the interesting developments in later episodes. Maybe we'll have to wait until S6, but I'm holding on to that hope.

Yes, it certainly bodes well in terms of what the writers are *hopefully* thinking about for the future. If Yelina is reintroduced gradually, that is fine by me. It would be nice to hear something concrete of course, but that is unlikely. As always, we remain hopeful. It's kind of in my psyche now - to be forever hopeful that things may one day go our way for a change! ;)

Nothing about Yelina's return. Hopefully this isn't a sign that she's going to be relegated to a mere cameo. I'm still holding on to hope that she'll have more than five minutes next week.

^ thanks for this info ;) not a lot hopeful, but i prefer to see her few times next week epi, then tptb to rush again everything. also i really hope we to know little more why and how she get her new job... *sigh* but knowling this monster this is too much for them when it`s come to continuation...

i`m afraid that this epi Burned will be mainly focus over Ryan fire and won`t let a lot time for Yelina screentime. not in last place this won`t be the main crime case in this epi... but the chance to see again Rick and Yelina is not so small part of the picture, right :D

That kinda sounds like a bummer. How can she not be in the promo?

I'm hoping it won't be a five minute cameo too. But if it's five minutes of substance and significance to H/Y storyarc then it'll be good too.

I'm not too worried at this point. If we are nicely surprised then great, but I don't want to build things up for yet more (potential) disappointment. I'm not expecting Yelina to be involved too much next week, though I can't wait to see her again! :) I thought we might get a glimpse of her in the promo though.

I am probably more concerned about Season 6 and the extent of Sofia's involvement. If Sofia is not involved in another show, then theoretically, the writers have every opportunity to bring her back on a more regular basis. That's the kind of news I am hoping to hear. ;)

I'm not disappointed that she isn't in the promo. It only makes next week the more special.

One of the reasons why I love H/Y is, even if they only share 2 minutes, there's always chemistry even when they're discussing a case and even when both of them were dating!

Hmm, think positively, maybe? Like... maybe they aren't advertising her because you don't usually advertise things that are normal aspects of the show (example: you wouldn't put in your ad that David Caruso is gonna be on next week's Miami); so maybe her exclusion is a sign of something good to come - if not this season then next. Wishful thinking on my part, perhaps, hehe. :)

For me, what's funny about wanting to see Horatio without Yelina is that we have seen that. The first season was largely Horatio without Yelina, and Sofia was brought in for that very reason - to be a foil for David's character. And naturally, both fans and TPTB alike enjoyed that aspect of the show, hence they made Sofia a regular cast member.

I won't say that the decision to write the character off was demeaning or disrespectful in any way because I don't know everything that went on with the producers and Sofia in making that decision. But for me, based on the reasons for hiring her in the first place, writing her off is illogical at best.

Very true. I think it was Hrockz who mentioned the opening scene from 'After The Fall' some time ago. H and Y are both so naturally flirty (in that scene in particular), it's really great to watch! :D

The spoiler thread mentions that Y is in the promo, and that H is calling her name. But I guess it doesn't really mattter. What matters is that we know she's in the next episode. And like Kit said we're in for great chemistry betwen them!

H and Y are both so naturally flirty (in that scene in particular), it's really great to watch!

Yup Luce you're right I did say something like that. You have an elephants' memory, I can't even remember saying that till you mentioned it. I look forward to more of that flirting and H's wriggling. :D

I'm still keeping everything crossed that tptb will re-hire SM for s6. But I know tptb will keep mum about whether SM is coming back in s6 for as long as they can.
