when i read
HnM update for Rebecca to my mind come a lot of old memory...when i first see epi 'Hel Night' and R/H chat with this part
"H: I'm full of surprises" and the way R look at him just know it that there will be something new for CSI M. it was like oracle by my side
but in 'Crime Wave' i was too confounded why H (or writers) decided to make this H/R dinner in the same epi where S hit Y...i was angry at H coz hi don`t punish S and even make one date. hum ?! ok in the end of this epi H smile for the first time from very long time but i personally don`t like the way writers push so fast this friendship R/H...after this come epi. 'After The Fall' and i start to change my opinion for R. S was force H to go to psychoanalyst for Speed death and who was there for H not Y but R and she was so nice with him..and there realy for me was something - maybe even chemistry. this chat between H/R was well done...H deserve to be happy even for a little and i agree hi to be with R. (comparison with Marisol Rebecca was much better choice for character who will be involve with H). but here come epi. 'Cop Killer' and R lose all the hard win points that i give to her...she try to 'fight' with Y and after this make deal with coop killer and this is the end...hum ?! 1. i don`t like the way H break with her - too rough and too quick overwork of the writers. 2. for me here was one possibility to CSI M plot to move forward - Y go with S, H go with R and H/Y jealousy one other...cool not like now in S4..we all know S and R from a lot of previous epi...and this M come 1 epi and after few days merry H ...
don`t know if all this post of mine make sense or is out of topic but just want to tell my opinion for Rebbeca..
here some quotes H/R/Y

'Hell Night'
R: The other three boys gave him (Rj) up as the shooter.
H: I guess that puts you in a funny position, and you're gonna take their word or wait for the evidence, right?
R: Exonerating evidence? Didn't know you had any.
H: Stick around. I'm full of surprises.
'Crime Wave'
R: I was worried you were going to cancel dinner tonight.
H: That would not be possible.
R: But?
H: I've got to push it back an hour.
R: Drinks with someone?
H: No. There's a victim in the hospital, and I have to go see him and his wife, so, about an hour.
R: Okay, 9:00 then, my place. I'll leave the door unlocked.
H: See you.
R: Yes, you will.
'After The Fall'
H: No, it's always the same. I'm in the jewellery store. It's slow-motion... I withdraw my weapon. I brandish it. I squeeze the trigger... and... nothing. Nothing happens. It jams.
R: Yours didn't. Speedle's did. Horatio... there's nothing you could have done.
H: I wish I felt that way.
*she take his hands*
H: Ma'am.
R: Sir.
'Cop Killer'
Y: We're still trying to reach her mother.
R: You can't talk to her alone. She's a 16-year-old.
Y: Who may know the location of a 17-year-old hostage.
R: Well, it's my duty to warn you anything she says in there may not be admissible in court.
Y: Right, I understand, but I think right now,the most important thing is to find that boy. Wouldn't you agree?
R: Not if it means undermining this entire case.
Y: I have ethical problems with this type of behavior.
R: Are you questioning my conduct?
Y: Maybe it needs to be questioned. This is my case. I don't need you to tell me
how to run it.
R: Yours for now, but it's going to be mine later. Seems like there's a lot of that going around these days.
R : We're going to trial Patrick Brookner as an adult. With your evidence, it looks like a sure thing.
H: Glad I could help. It's frightening, some of the people who want to work in law enforcement.
R: Not everybody is cut out to be a police officer.
H: No kidding.
R: Well, it only takes a second to make a bad decision, doesn't it?
H: Yeah.
R: So, dinner tonight, my place?
H: I’m not going to be able to do that.
R: Let me guess. You're visiting Insko's widow?
H: Yeah. I'm going to go see her and the kid.
R: Okay, dessert, then. I'll just leave the door...
H: That's not going to happen, either.
R: What's going on? Is this about what I said to Yelina?
H: Um... no.
R: Oh. So, it's the deal I made. I stand by my decision.
H: And I stand by mine.
