Help!!! Why does Danny carry Lindsay?

hey, I was just wondering why Lindsay is carried by Danny. Could somebody explain that for me? Becuase i never got to see that episode. And could you tell me what episode it came from.

It's from "Cool Hunter"... Danny is helping her with the investigation and he is carrying her to help confirm her theory of who the killer is...

I don't understand the reasoning behind it though.

1. They were working different crime scenes.
2. Mac said they didn't weigh enough so it was pointless.
3. Mac could have easily done it and he weighs more than Danny.
4. Flack worked that case. He could have done it.

IMO, just another attempt to show D/L in our faces.

Mac may weigh more than Danny, but it could be far more than what they needed to make up for. It wasn't a huge weight they were carrying.

They had to have the weight exact to compare the depth.

Well, if they needed the experiment, the only way to do it was to match the weight- meaning find someone who weighed less and make it up.

...yeah, but flack, being taller than danny, could have made up the extra weight (so no need for the barbell) and he was actually working the same case.

i love DL, but i have to agree with 1CSIMfan on this one. there was no reason really for danny to take time off from his own case in order to help lindsay with her experiment. there were other resources.

I was a bit bogled by the scene too. All I could think was, "what, they ran out of lab techs to help out with this kinda thing? It just had to be Danny, didn't it?" Plenty pointless except to further the whole D/L plot. Ever heard of subtext? Maybe TPTB need to go back to scriptwriting school.

Apparently, yes. That was probably one of the first tricks TPTB tried to not-so-subtly hint at something between the two of them...

Subtle? Being knocked over by a bulldozer would be less subtle  I admit I'm not a D/L shipper, but I mean, if TPTB wanted to ship those two together on a loveboat headed towards the setting sun, there's not much I can do about it, is there? The least they could do is not to rub it in the rest of our faces by shoving D/L scenes down our throats every possible (and impossible) opportunity. If they wanted two characters to get together, why not Mac and Stella? Their obvious friendship and deep-seated trust is the good basis for the start of an office romance. Oh heck, why not Danny and Flack for that matter? We all know that those two are a great example of subtext and chemistry overload :D

i totally agree with you, Celefinwe it was not subtle at all. although i do like how danny and lindsay look together, we need mor smacked. danny and flack would be kinda cool too.

everyone...why why must we have such intellegent conversations ;)

listen..they caught the bad guy at the end..right..so why does it matter..
and yeah i am a d/l shipper..but and i did enjoy the scene..and im going to stick up for my ship, but i dont think that TPTB is shoving it down our throats..[well i guess im not looking at it from your point of view..and im sorry] but i do agree..that if anyone should canon..that it be Mac and Stella..but i believe that in the epsoide that Danny was nearly the same hieght and weight as the suspect, and Lindsay near the victim, but i could be wrong..just my mind racing agian.
allie

Mac and Stella would be too obvious, the writers know they can't let it happen. In almost every TV show there's a male-female partnership and 90% of them do -not- end up as a couple, which is probably why TPTB chose to give Mac a girlfriend this season.

I love how this turned into a shipper discussion.

Personally, I'm not a D/L shipper, but that's not why the scene bugged me. My main problem with it was that Danny was working a different case. Hell, I would have thought Danny would whine about coming across town to help Lindsay with a case he wasn't even a part of.

But I agree that the main point of having them work the scene together was the dinner/drinks thing and the "Make tracks cowboy" line. I think people look at the D/L ship differently based on what they want from the show and what they want from the relationships on the show. As a slash fan, I'm all about subtext and subtlety. Maybe that's why the ever-present D/L scene they made sure to include in every episode grated on my nerves a bit--because it was anything but subtle. I can see why the writers would want to do the 'country girl/city boy' storyline, and that a large chunk of the fanbase would like to see it, but I don't think it's necessarily good for the show (also pointing out that, personally, although part of me loves the idea of seeing my favorite ship go canon, sometimes it's best left in fanon ;)). I guess we'll see how the writers are going to handle the situation this coming season, though...
