Ok i have watched the season premier to CSI NY and i have took an instant dislike to Haylen. I think she is cocky, uptight and vindictive. They got rid of Angell and gave us a Haylen?? I also believe that she will pull out all the stops to get Adam's job???? Does anyone agree???

Let the Haylen Love or Hate debate begin

you can put me on the hater side I can't stand her voice and the way she definitly wants a job on the lab even if for that she has to have Adam let go. I think her clothes are common and these boots with the skirt:wtf::wtf:

I don't want her to stay around the lab

I can't stand her at all. It seems like she's after Adam's job and she is beyond annoying. Watching Haylen is about as bad as a really bad fanfic with many Mary-Sue's. All I can do is hope that they kill her off by the end of the season.

I'm on the fence at the moment. Can't decide how I feel, maybe in a few more episodes. However, I did think she seemed sweet and eager to learn, but I do get a sneaky vibe off her. She seems the type willing to do/say anything to get what she wants.

The clothes were a bit OTT. Where Jess was sexy in that understated way, Haylen's more in your face. She could never replace Jess. No one could.

not really, she wasn't all good by any means and had one or two annoying features but she also wasn't as bad as i'd expected so i'll give her a chance.

I haven't watched the episode (God Forbids!) but i think the girl should receive more chances until decide how much you like or dislike her

After all we have given chances to more characters for years

My answer is NO. Haylen deserves to be here (and thanks God she is not Angel's replacement. She is a CSI wanna be, a cleaning tech, nor a cop neither a CSI so she is filling her own space. Not Angell's!)

I'll admit, I did take a dislike to her in this first episode. It's hard to judge a character from his/her first appearance, but I found her voice really grating and her pushiness a bit off-putting.

That said, I didn't loathe and despise her, and it's possible that she'll grow on me in the coming weeks. We'll see!

I wouldn't say I took an instant dislike to Haylen (although I did take a dislike to her ridiculous name), but I didn't warm to her either.

Hard to say right now, but hopefully she'll improve in the coming weeks. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for at least a couple of episodes.

I didn't take an instant dislike to her, although I took an instant dislike to her annoying as hell voice and the soap opera/romance novel name.

I think she is very driven and knows what she wants. Unfortunately for women this can get them a label of "pushy" or "bitchy" or whatever. I don't think there is any malice in her toward Adam either. She didn't show him up at the lab because it was proven Adam didn't miss the fingerprint, it appeared later due to the temperature change.

Even though she's smart, I think she may be naive enough to think she can get a job at the lab without taking Adam's job specifically. She did say she'd do ANYTHING including janitorial duties just to get a foot in the door so she can prove herself. I can see why Adam felt threatened by her, but I don't think she meant to be threatening.

I may be proven totally wrong in upcoming episodes, but for now I think she's OK.

I try to get over the name thing by reminding myself that it kind of rhymes with my screenname. :p

Seriously, though - I don't love her, but I don't hate her. I'm not a fan after her first scene or two, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and see where the writers take her from here.

I found her extremely obnoxious. She got on my nerves and I didn't quite like her interactions with Adam. I hope it was just a poor introduction and that she evolves in a positive way, because so far I can perfectly see her turning into a Mary-Sue. Hopefully we'll see her again, discover oh teh dark seekrit they said she was gonna have and she won't turn out to be a smug know-it-all. Hopefully.

I didn't dislike her immediately, but it's still a bit early to know whether I'll ultimately like or dislike her.

I actually think it's a good thing that she came across as a little overly ambitious and agressive, even if it makes her somewhat annoying or unlikeable. Better that than one who can do no wrong.

I also think it could be interesting if having her around does introduce some tension and conflict into the team. There were times last season that I thought they went overboard with the "We are family" theme. It's a bit unrealistic to think that everyone on a team like this would all like each other equally and always get along.

I voted no. I actually like her. She reminds me of Lindsay in the season 2 episode Zoo York. I like Lindsay and I know there's probably more that don't then do like Lindsay. I'm probably in the minority on Haylen as well. You know what? I don't care if I'm in the minority or the majority, I like Haylen...and Lindsay too. :p

Good to know I'm not the only one who found her voice annoying  I think I have to agree with a lot of what PerfectAnomaly said. She knows what she wants, and she's determined to get it. Unfortunately, it doesn't make a great first impression.

So no, I wasn't impressed with her first appearance. But I didn't absolutely dislike her right off the bat, either. I'm willing to wait and see where they go with her.

I didn't take an instant dislike to her, although I took an instant dislike to her annoying as hell voice and the soap opera/romance novel name.

They should have stuck with Kaye Sullivan. Has much more of a NY feel to it than Haylen Becall. Seriously, piece of advice to whoever came up with that: Leave the Mills & Boon on the nightstand. ;)
