No I did not like her on first impression. That can change, depending on how the story progresses. Her voice was annoying, as was the way she approached the situation. I don't claim to know how the real world of CSI works, but in my mind (I know...a scary place) it seems very unrealistic for a clean up tech to have access to all the catalogued evidence. It also bugs me that she would be able to leave the scene, go check all the collected evidence, take the time to change into different clothes and show up at the lab to let them know personally what she found. It seemed like a bit of grandstanding and, had I been her supervisor, she would have gotten in trouble for going around chain of command to go straight to the head of the lab. The fact that she had an officer escort with her makes me think that she didn't have clearance to be there in the first place. If that's the case then she must have broken the rules to get to the evidence to check the print.

Personally i liked her. A lot. She just saw a chance to reach her dream/goal and she went after it. Maybe in order to get it, she bend rules a little but she didn't know Adam or at least she didn't knwo it was Adam the one in charge of the elevator. Besides she was honest when she said what she wanted. I don't find anything annoying or disgusting on that!
Sarah was great and yeap, her voice sounded like Fran Dresher and i loved that! :D

She is very promising as a character and for me it's not Angel's replacement at all! Totally different their positions and places in the story :)

Sarah made a great job with this! :D

I voted no. I don't know what it is, I just can't seem to take to her. Hopefully in the next episodes it will prove me wrong. But until then I have to say no.

I've thought about it for a while, and yet I'm still on the fence about her. I like that she doesn't seem to be a Mary-Sue, and even better, that she seems to be an annoying know-it-all  Just how annoying, though, is what's really going to be the tie-breaker...so I guess I have to wait till she shows up again.

I will say, though I know her outfit wasn't exactly work-place appropriate, and it was a little sketchy of her to run home and change before she reported the missing fingerprint to Mac's office...but lol, it was still such a cool outfit :p

I don't like her but I don't hate her either. It is quite hard to say in this point. Surely there's some features that I don't like, but it's only the character. I checked one video from youtube where she and A.J. were showing the lab. It was great and I liked Sarah a lot.;)But the character isn't the best way written I think...

I wanna see some further episodes when I can decide my opinion properly, but there's one thing I hope: She could take Adams's attention away from Stella.:vulcan: I know Adam has some eyes for the ladies so... And that way Stella is free for "you know who!" :D

i didn't like the characters introduction to the show. i think her showing Adam up was a bad way to bring her, there are many Adam fans (including me) that were upset with the whole thing going on with them and did not put the new character in a good light (but i do agree that Adam was a bit pissy. he did make a mistake and could not get over it).

i'm going to try to reserve a definite judgement until she's in a few more eps. i've said i don't like an actor or actress and then they grow on me and i like them. lost major brownie points with the introduction and the actress is not good at all she annoyed me. but we'll see it's only the beginning of the season and she has only been in one ep.

As she said, she didn't know Adam was the one in charge of working inside the elevator so it wasn't personal. That gives me a reason NOT to dislike her

She just wants a chance to work in there and it would be a pity if i prejudged her before the character is developed

Personally I liked Sarah a lot!!!!!! So i hope many more moments with her even if she can't become into a regular

I have no idea what I think of her - yet. I dislike her voice, but I think I just need some time before I can manage to hear it without complaining everytime I hear her voice. Well, I will give her another chance before I know whether to like or dislike her.

Her voice and appearance definately get on my nerves. Where is her neck?? :wtf: They take away a wonderful actress and throw this one at us. Ew. I hope they discontinue her.

I gotta say, Haylen's second appearance did nothing to endear her to me. I really want to like her, but I don't enjoy the way they're introducing her, I'm not a fan of the character so far, and I really just think she's an unnecessary addition to a show that has characters that already don't get enough focus.

Nope. Didn't like her any better this time. I just don't get why they need her. Adam is doing a great job in the field while Danny is stuck in the lab and we haven't seen Lindsay out in the field yet (have we?) so she still seems to be pushing herself into a situation that doesn't need her, and coming across like she's the best thing since sliced bread.

The only redeeming aspect of this how it's affecting Adam.

Even though she's smart, I think she may be naive enough to think she can get a job at the lab without taking Adam's job specifically. She did say she'd do ANYTHING including janitorial duties just to get a foot in the door so she can prove herself. I can see why Adam felt threatened by her, but I don't think she meant to be threatening.

While I was watching the current episode, I thought back to her initial appearance and Smallville. We've already established that Sarah Carter worked on Smallville, but what's really interesting is that on Smallville, there's a character named Chloe Sullivan who--while not exactly like Haylen--has some of the same traits.

Both would do what others might consider "menial" tasks. Chloe mentions that she'd rather serving coffee at the Daily Planet rather than reporting for the Inqusitor (a tabloid). Cleaning test tubes for Haylen.

They both show an early interest in the fields they want to work in. As a little girl Chloe writes articles for her own newspaper. For Haylen, it's the cat poisoning.

Both tried to get hired, don't and then get the job because of their aggressive natures. Chloe doesn't get an internship (long story, lots of baggage), but she gets hired in a basement level position by finding a story and turning it in. Hayeln gets the grant.

And they're both blonde. Well, Chloe is actually not a natural blonde, but who cares?

I wonder if someone on the staff likes Smallville but hates the character assassination that's been going on with Chloe the last couple of seasons. If so, they they could have hired Sarah Carter because she's from Smallville and think it's a nice easter egg.

This may sound weird. But I remember reading about some Heroes writers who were fans of Clark/Chloe, so they set up Claire (a blonde) with a guy who flies and looks kind of like Clark Kent. However, I believe the storyline was aborted because of the Writer's Strike.

And if Haylen's big secret is an identity change... :)

I see her as being a love interest for Adam down the road, given what I know about the series (Danny/Linsday plot) that would be a bad idea.

I don't think she will. Based on interviews (and the past two seasons), it looks like they're setting up a relationship between Stella and Adam. Of course, Haylen showing an interest in Adam could be one of the reasons it gets "complicated" (per Melina's interviews).

i didn't like the characters introduction to the show. i think her showing Adam up was a bad way to bring her, there are many Adam fans (including me) that were upset with the whole thing going on with them and did not put the new character in a good light (but i do agree that Adam was a bit pissy. he did make a mistake and could not get over it).

He didn't make a mistake. And I think most people would get defensive in his position. When I originally saw the scene and heard that someone might be accusing Adam of not doing his job, I thought, "Huh?! This is Adam. Who is this person?" Which are probably the kind of thoughts he had. He is an ultra-thorough lab tech with an implied history of OCD. She is someone who he didn't know, so it was reasonable to assume that she didn't know him and didn't know how thorough he is. But it just turns out that the fingerprint appeared because he was doing his job and was really noticeable because he had been so thorough. The only "mistake" was not going back to the elevator later in the day, but there had been no reason to do so until the fingerprint appeared and Haylen found it.

Anyway, if Mac or Stella had been the one to say that there was unrecovered evidence, I think he would have treated the statement with less disbelief because he knows them and he knows that they know how he works. And earlier in the conference room when he says that he didn't find anything, Danny says, "Fire him, Mac. The kid's slacking off." He doesn't get defensive then because he knows it's a joke. And everyone gets a chuckle or a smile because they know just how anal Adam is about his job.

^ yeah, i agree with your last two paras - it was established that it wasn't a mistake so much as bad luck and could've happened to any of them, even supermac! and anyone would be a bit pissed off if some random unknown person who didn't even work in the field came and told them they'd made a mistake.

i really like haylen - i think she's persistent and resourceful which is exactly what the csis need to be! i think she's quite funny too, it looks like she and mac are gonna make a great double act :D

I think Sarahs (well, Haylen's) second performance was pretty alright. She was better this time. But I do believe that the lab don't need another lab rat. Not only becuase they have got Adam. I just think that the current actors shall get some more screen time (not every single actor, jus these ones who barely get any screen time now).
