Harper's Island

Half

CSI Level Two
New CBS show that I just need to ramble about a bit, and there doesn't seem to be a thread.

~The little girl is creeping me out.
~I like the main girl.
~Why is everything "Cousin Ben"? Can they not just call him "Ben"? Eh, he's dead anyway.
~Dude, WTF with the guy getting chopped in half? Holy crap.
~I'm not entirely sure how this show will do. I like Abby and that guy playing pool, Jimmy I think. The engaged couple is kind of cute. The other characters made little impression.

Yea I dont know what to think about this show. The little girl standing by the bedside was freaky. Yea those cutting/slashing sounds were interesting what was the killer using a scathe or machette or sword? So hmm I wonder whos doing the killing?

I don't know the suspects that pop in my head first and foremost are the girl's father and her ex boyfriend. Why they always gotta make Victor Webster the bad guy, I don't know. The groom's bro is too obvious though. But, the fact that Uncle Marty (why is this the only person whose name I remember? lol) was killed not long after his "threat" to the girl's father is suspicious in of itself. I can't believe they killed Harry Hamill off that quickly though.

And who was that who got caught under the boat? I was flipping back and forth between this show and Nancy Grace, so I missed that part.

The groom's best friend's dad is the guy who plays Bobby on Supernatural. :D

If the bride's dad isn't the killer or in on it, I hope he's the next to get bumped off. The whole storyline about "the rich dad doesn't want his daughter with someone socially below them" thing is getting cliched and old. That whole thing turned me off and I may not watch it next week simply for that reason.

The guy under the boat was, I believe, Cousin Ben. That's one of the things that greatly annoyed me. If they saw "cousin" Ben one more time, I think I'll know who the killer is- me.

One thing I thought was weird about Uncle Marty's death was, what the hell kind of sword can chop someone in half that easily? All three layers of skin and muscle and bone? The killer's certainly not one of the women, at least none that we've seen as of yet...

I only caught the first 38 minutes (had another committment) but so far, I'm liking it. But I do agree with GNRFan, the:

"rich dad doesn't want his daughter with someone socially below them"

topic is pretty extensively used and really cliché. That being said, I'm really enjoying all of the characters so far and the development they've already been given.

But can you say holy Supernatural reunion Batman?

Katie Cassidy (Old!Ruby), Jim Beaver (Bobby), Chris Gauthier (Ronald; 'Nightshifter', 'Are You There God? It's Me, Dean Winchester') Gina Holden (Hailey; 'Wendigo'), Sean Rogerson (Man; 'Houses of the Holy'), Anna Mae Routledge (Museum Guide; 'Long-Distance Call') and Alex Ferris, who is supposed to be Young Henry in an unknown amount of episodes was Young Sam Winchester in 'Something Wicked'. :D

Anyway, aside from that, I find it interesting so far. I'm hoping to tune in the next time it's on and see the whole episode, lol.

Katie Cassidy was there? Was she the bride cause I kept thinking she looked familiar, but the brown hair threw me off.

As for the weapon used on Uncle Marty... I dunno. Machete comes to mind, but unless its Jason Voorhies wielding it, I doubt even it could do that. A scythe (sp?) maybe? I'm not sure...

At first I would have said it couldn't be a woman, but then it took the killer three or more swipes to do that to marty, so in that respect it could be a woman. Could be that she wasn't strong enough to do it all in one swipe.

I just hope they don't do the lame-o "Scream" like thing and have the actual killer be related to the original serial killer who killed that one girl's mom. That would just suck.

I thought the show was interesting...but there were points where I was going I've seen this before. It's a bit of an over used plot and sub-plot.....the only thing original is that someone dies and the killer hasn't given many clues.

Madison, freaky kid...but the whole my new friend told me about the murders is suspect that she has something to do with it.

Though there seems to be an increase of tempers...and not from who I thought would be angry. Abby is fairly calm about going back to the place of her mother's murder and estranged father. As for the brother....he seems too much like the target for being the murder....I doubt it's him. Hopefully can keep my attention over the length of this....though for a week until the wedding it's going to be one long week.....

Maybe the little girl is psychic or something and the "new friend" is a ghost of a murder victim from the past or possibly the ghost of the original killer. She seemed to know that Cousin Bob was dead cause she took away his gift and ripped up the tag.

I liked it a lot. I know that most of the first episode was us getting to know the characters and who they were. Also we learned a little about the original murders. So I am expecting the epsiodes to get even better now that some of the basics are covered. I am so glad Uncle Marty died first though. He bugged me some reason. I love the little girl. She is so cute, but creepy.

And when are people gonna learn not to walk in creepy places at night. The best friend was walking to the bar to find the groom's brother and I could think of was, "You idiot haven't you ever watched Criminal Minds, that is the perfect way to die. And in heels no less."

Holy crap- I spent the whole episode wondering when Katire Cassidy was going to show up, and didn't realize she was the main chick. Wow- she looks so different with brown hair... not to mention that this time she has a slightly different attitude than her character on Supernatural.

Anyway, it's far from perfect (the Brit and his sleazy girlfriend are already annoying) but I'm still intrigued. Besides, it's only on for 13 episodes, so unless it really starts to suck, I'll probably keep watching.

Ya alot of people that were on Harper's Island were on Supernatuar. I think that Happer's Island is going to be a good show, its different then what we see on CBS I like it.

I don't think she is psychic....she is too in tune with everything that is going on. Plus after hearing the promos and then Madison talking it's her that goes "one by one", which puts a lot of inferences into motion.

Plus her where abouts where not shown, more focus was put on to the wedding storyline, so she would have been off in the woods and encountered the guy.

I do think Abby's dad shot the killer, but I don't think he died. I'm going with that he was wearing a bullet proof vest and just played dead. It seems too much like what happened before the return of these characters.

I was pleasantly surprised, aggravated, a little bummed out, and excited through the course of the episode. Regardless of my range of emotions, if you are a fan of murder-mysteries or horror films, you MUST tune in for this new show, and give it more than 1 episode before making up your mind. that being said, I will give it a few more weeks until I make up my mind on this show!

I judge TV shows pretty quickly, but I'm not sure that I can with this one. I still can't sort out whether I liked the pilot or not.

Little Girl (Name?): Probably future serial killer material. I expect to see her on Criminal Minds in about five or six years. Possibly psychic, but I can't guess that since she's only been in a few scenes and has said little.

Abby: Clearly doesn't want anything to do with her father. I'm interested in whether or not she was the woman present when her father shot Wakefield (sp?). I can't be too hard on her because she beat a guy up with a pool cue. However, I swear if they make it that she did in fact have a romantic relationship with Henry, I will punch something. Because guys can be friends without there being romantic feelings. I have guy friends, and I'd never want to date them. Ever.
