Chapter 5

-------------

So they all headed back for the lab the last time that day.
Nick, Sara and Greg all caught up with Warrick and Grissom.
They managed to get the fingerprints, but they did have to use the warrant, not surprising huh? Anyway, Nick and Sara pretty much told Grissom and Warrick everything Josh had said, because Greg was just too upset at that time.

So after they explained about Josh saying the Thompson's did see Sam this morning, Grissom looked at Greg and said, "Greg, it seems like you knew Sam the best out of the three of you, you have to tell us what she liked to do, where she liked to go, maybe that will give us a heading on where she might be."

Greg looked all around the room, and pulled a cross out of his pocket, then he looked at Grissom and said, "Church. Church was her favorite place to be, all the time."
Grissom nodded and said, "Well, let's look there then, come on guys, let's go."
So they all headed for the church now, and when they arrived Grissom, Nick, and Warrick all started questioning people about Sam and they asked them if they had seen her, and Greg and Sara went to different parts of the church to look for evidence.

When Greg got inside the main part of the church, he went straight for the part where they usually sat for services.
And that part was full of evidence, there was another note, fingerprints, and more drops of blood. Greg couldn't stand it anymore, he called Sara over, and then Warrick, Nick and Grissom all came over too. Greg looked at Grissom and said, "You still think I'm over reacting! Cause I don't think any of you are reacting enough!"

Greg stomed out of the church like lightning, and Sara went right behind him, but when she said the slightest little thing, he blew up again, and that's all it took for Grissom to blow up too.
All Sara said was, "Greg, calm down."
He whipped himself around, and yelled, "I am not going to calm down, she's just a kid for heavens sakes!"
After he said that he just kept walking out, and Grissom followed.

When they both made it out to the parking lot Grissom made Greg turn around as he said, "That's it Greg, I'm dropping you from this case, you're done....so go home now!"
Everyone else was now just standing at the churches doors looking at Greg, and Greg just shook his head. He was now calm, well for the most part.

He looked in Grissom's eyes, and said, "Fine, I'm sorry that I care about someone so much, but don't worry Grissom, I won't interfear anymore, ever....."
Greg took his badge off, and right in front of Grissom he threw it to the ground, then he turned around and finished walking to his car.

All the CSI's just watched as Greg drove away, then they all walked up to Grissom. Grissom bent over and picked up Greg's badge, and he turned to the CSI's and said, "Well, it's up to us to find this girl now, cause we just lost one of are guys. I guess....for good."

Chapter 6

-----------------

When Greg got back to his apartment, there was an envelope at his door.
He walked inside, sat on his couch and opened it.
There were pictures inside, pictures Greg had just taken last week of all the CSI's and at church, with Sam.....

Greg just stared at the pictures, then he thought to himself, if something really had happened to Sam what was he going to do? Then Greg rememebred something......
Lake Mead!
He thought to himself, Sam had told him something about she lost someone very special to her at Lake Mead, and she never really got to go back to say goodbye.

So not ten seconds later Greg was up and out of his house once again going to look for Sam, this time by himself though. He drove a while and finally arrived at Lake Mead, it was now competely dark outside, and as soon as he got out of his car it started to rain.

He shut the door and started running for the lake, when he made it down to the edge of the water, he looked down at the sand, and then he saw one of his worst night mares.
He saw a gun about ten feet in front of him, he rushed over to it, and picked it up. He opened the chamber, and realized it was empty, he only knew then what had happened.

He looked up to the sky with rain falling in his face and said, "You seriously think Sam deserevd this?"
He shook his head and tossed the gun far back out into the water, but then he saw something, he saw a girl lying on a big plank of wood. And he knew it was Sam, so he took his cell phone out, and didn't waste any time at all. He dialed 911, and as soon as they picked up he said, "This is CSI Sanders, and we need an ambulance at Lake Mead, NOW!!"

He hung up the phone and started rushing out into the water.
He swam all the way over to Sam, he grabbed the wood and just stared at her. She had blood on her face, and her arm that he could see. He put his hand on hers and realized she was cold as ice. He just dropped his head thinking he was way too late, but then a mirical came along.
Sam moved her hand on top of his and said softly, "I knew you'd find me Mr. Sanders."

Greg looked at her and just started to smile like crazy, he couldn't believe it. Sam repeated.
Greg just kept looking at her, then he took a deep breath and said, "Sam, are you hurt anywhere else? I saw the gun!"
Sam tried to move but it was really hard, she pointed down at her leg as she said, "My leg is cut pretty badly, but it wasn't by the gun. They didn't use the gun, but they did want me too."

Greg just looked at her, then he said, "What?"
Sam closed her eyes and said, "Mr. Sanders, do you remember when I was telling you I lost someone very special here, well that special someone was my dad. The bad guys took me and him and they told my dad if he didn't shoot himself right there, they were going to kill me, so my dad did it. Till this day I never got the chance to say goodbye."

As soon as Sam said that the ambulance drove up, and so did about five cop cars. As the parimedics started out into the water, Sam looked at Greg and said, "So I guess it's finally time to say goodbye to him...... Good bye Daddy."
After Sam said that looking up to the sky, the parimedics were at her side and started pushing her back to land, she looked back to Greg and grinned slightly, and Greg just stared.

When they got her back to land Greg watched as they put a breathing mask on her and put her on the gurny. Then he looked to the left just a little bit and saw all the CSI's standing there looking out to him. All but Grissom waved at him to know they were all there for him. Greg raised one hand up also, and watched as the ambulance drove away.

He looked back to the sky once more and said, "I was wrong, I was wrong."
After he said that, he dove head first into the water and headed back to the shore, all the police cars but one left, and Greg was now standing face to face with Brass, because everyone else had already left.......Even all the CSI's.

I hope y'all enjoyed, I will post the last chapter very soon. Thanks! :)

Okay, last chapter, I hope you all have enjoyed it, because I have LOVED writing it!

Chapter 7

--------------

So Greg was looking at Brass, then Brass said, "You okay?"
Greg shook his head and said, "Yea,, yea I'm good."
Brass sort of looked down and said quietly, "You know Greg, when you called 911 earlier, you said you were CSI Sanders, I thought you had quit."
Greg shook his head in dissapointment then said, "I think I need to have a talk with Grissom."
Brass shook his head then said, "Yea, I think you do."
He smiled, and then left. As did Greg.

Greg went to the lab and changed his clothes, and headed to Grissom's office. When he made it to the door he wasn't sure what to say, but Grissom pretty much took care of that part.
"I thought I dropped you from this case Greg? And most of all I thought you quit?"
Greg didn't say anything, but he did take two steps forward, then Grissom said while still doing paperwork, "You know Greg your actions with this case could really cause you a lot of trouble with getting a job....."

Greg just looked down still staying silent, then Grissom finally raised his head and said, "But if it wasn't for you Greg, that girl would probably be dead, so we all want to give you a special thanks, as we know Sam does."
Greg just looked at Grissom, then Grissom opened his desk drawer and pulled out Greg's badge and pushed it toward him on the table.

Greg picked it up and clipped it back to his shirt, and headed for the door. As soon as he made it there he turned back around and said, "Thank you Grissom."
Grissom kept a straight face as he said, "No Greg, thank you."
Greg smiled, and then headed for the hospital.

When he arrived he asked the person at the counter Sam's room number, and she said, "Room number 633 Mr. Sanders, but there's some people here to see you first, their in the lobby, go ahead."
So Greg headed to the lobby, and then he saw something amazing. He saw all the CSI's standing there with a big sign saying, 'To Our Hero.'
Greg smiled and then went to give each one of them a hug and to say thank you.

After that they all told Greg to tell Sam hello, then they left. So Greg walked up to Sam's door, and pushed it opened.
She was looking out of her window at all the beautiful lights of Las Vegas, then Greg said, "Hey Sweetie."
Sam whipped her head around and just started to smile. Then she said, "Only my dad ever called me that Mr. Sanders."

Greg smiled then sat down next to Sam's bed. He took her hand and said, "So Sam, how did you end up at Lake Mead?"
Sam's smile sort of turned into a frown, then she said, "Because the Thompson's knew I wanted to go there, so they finally decided to take me, it just so happened not for the right reasons."
"What happened?"

Sam looked back at the lights, then she said, "Remember when I told you my dad shot himself, well ever since then I haven't been able to stand guns, and they knew it.
So when they took me out there, they gave me the gun with one bullet in it, and I'll never forget them saying, 'Just don't miss.' So as soon as they left, I opened the chamber and emptyed the bullet out, and then I just tossed the gun with what strengh I had left."

Greg just blinked sadly, then Sam said looking at him strongly, "What happened to them? And what about Josh?"
Greg sat up starighter and said, "Their going to jail Sam, for child abuse, and kidnapping, you won't ever have to worry about them again, don't worry. And Josh, he's going to live with his Uncle in Texas. And he said, he said you're more then welcomed to come live with him too."

Sam nodded, then she looked down, as she said, "Josh's uncle already has three kids, and Josh deserved to be there, but he can't handle more then four, so I'll be fine. I'll go back to the orphanage, maybe I'll see some old friends there."

Greg saw how sad Sam was, so he took something out of his pocket and said, "Sam, I have something that belongs to you." Greg took the necklace he had gotten Sam for her birthday that Mrs. Thompson had stolen and put it around her neck. Sam smiled, then Greg said, "Happy Birthday."
Sam smiled at Greg and then opened the locket. It had a great picture of her and Greg in it, then as she was looking at it Greg said, "You know Sam, I want you to be happy, so it's your choice, but know if you want to, my door is always open, you're more then welcomed to stay with me."

Sam started to cry as she was looking at the picture, then she reached up to give him a hug as she said, "Thank you Mr. Sanders, you truly are my hero."
Greg smiled and said, "You know Sam, you can call me Greg, it's okay."
She smiled as she went back into the hug, then she said, "I know.... But I rather call you Dad."

--------------------

So as you can see, Greg Sanders and Eric Szmanda are more then just CSI's, cops, and dj's. Their good friends, great men, and true Heros! Thank you guys, you have truly inspired me, forever!
