Fannysmacking

I just saw "Fannysmacking" and I think it suffers from what I call "failure of tone." The DJ character is described by his family as a college student with a 3.6 GPA and we see him running the streets like an animal, attacking strangers with a brick! There seems to be a disconnect in the character that I see all the time. Give us a character that is believable.

How are we to decide who is right and who is wrong with this kind of schizophrenic character?

Bill,

I am a former police officer who was injured in the line of duty. As such I have had to arrest such individuals who are Highly unlikely in most peoples minds to do wrong so I guess for me this epi seems factual. I for example put away an honor roll student who had a full ride scholarship because he decided that Breaking and entering and stealing could relieve his boredom so it again does not matter that the kid is a college student and can't do anything criminal.

^^ Exactly and it was his mother and brother who refused to believe that he would do anything wrong, because he was going to college and had a 3.6 GPA.

In their eyes, he was perfect in reality he was a thug, like the rest of them, who, as Stokes4george said, was bored. Lord knows that's a good reason to beat someone up and/or kill them.

Even with the evidence against DJ, his mother and brother still refused to believe it. However, they had no problem living the high life off his death.

thanks speedy!

In fact that showed the follow up epi where Greg is taken off a case because of his "ties" with the family. Even Greg said that it was the mother and DJ's fault for his behavior so that just shows how things like this can happen.
