WARNING SIGN- COLDPLAY A warning sign, I missed the good part then I realized, I started looking and the bubble burst. I started looking for excuses. Alright so the thread rules say that we are s'posed to explain why we chose the song so here goes: Although this song seemingly is about a couple who has broken up and now they are longing for each other again, it really reminded my of Eric and Calleigh's journey together, especially since he was shot and Jake came back. The song mentions 'excuses', that to me was all the things Calleigh was trying to use to put off making a move with Eric and taking their relationship to the next level. As the song goes on the lines repeted 'The truth is, that I miss you', to me that showed that depsite her realtionship with Jake and everything between her and Eric (them growing apart and not being able to talk to each other openly..etc) she really just missed being close with him. And then coming into her realization of 'I shouldn't have let you go', meaning that she knew something was there all along and she wishes they could've took the next step sooner. And then the last part of the song is kind of obvious, he waited for her and so she comes back 'into his open arms', once he decides to verbalize his feelings. It also made me think of all the ordeals they went through as individuals and together as a couple of sorts (even if they weren't offical when it happened) to break them down and bring them together. That's just my take on the song, feel free to pipe in your thoughts about it... take a listen maybe to the song? It's really great IMO.
