Watched the first episode tonight. It looks like it should be a good show, very interesting concept. I can't get over how much Grace Gummer looks like her mom,
and Goran Visnjic is still HOT! like he was in ER.

Melina Kanakaredes Lands Arc as Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Ex

CSI: NY alumna Melina Kanakaredes is returning to her old CBS stomping grounds with a Season 2 arc on Extant, TVLine has learned exclusively.

The actress will appear in two episodes of the Halle Berry-fronted interstellar drama as Dorothy, a tightly wound, by-the-book circuit court judge who also happens to be the estranged wife of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s new bounty-hunter character, JD Richter. Dorothy reappears when her ex’s involvement with astronaut Molly (Berry) puts their daughter in danger.

Extant‘s revamped second season — which bows Wednesday, July 1 at 10/9c — finds Molly discovering that she has unwittingly put the human race on a path to destruction, and that she and a mysterious stranger (Morgan’s JD) may be the only hope for survival.

Kanakaredes, who was last seen in a March episode of Hawaii Five-0, joins a Season 2 cast that also includes Kiersey Clemons (Transparent) and David Morrissey (The Walking Dead).
