Eric/Greg: Leggo Our Greggo thread #15

Is it bad to wish that he *is* the CSI that's mentioned? I mean, at least Greg's involved in the finale as opposed to being pushed into the background... again.

Plus, I'm twisted that way and I love it when my favourite character gets thrown into danger... *hides* BTW, this is in a spoiler tag because I'm not sure how spoilery that last statement was, and I'd rather not screw up again. =)

But, on another note, it could be someone else from the lab. I felt that that was a general statement about which 'CSI' as in from the cast and not a character whose job is a CSI. But we'll know soon enough.

Well I am sort of with you. Seeing as I love to write Greg angst, I sort of do not mind if something were to happen to him, as long as he lives. I mean it would put him more in the forefront of a story, which we do want.

So should we start betting on Greg's screen time for this week? I say around 5 minutes total.

OK, I just read that George Eads will be asking for more money to remain on CSI. So my thoughts about the spoiler being about Greg have changed, its more likely Nick. I should have known better than to think the writers would be thinking about Greg during the finale...

Yeah since his presence in this weeks promo is zero, I think Dizzney might be right.

Yeah like I have said in the past, usually Greg is hardly in finales. The last couple of years he got a little more time than previous years but still they will not think of him. And if they did, I would really be shocked, I mean seriously.

My wager on screen time: 4 minutes 47 seconds.

Anyways, here's hoping to Greg in the finale. Even though I'm going to say "don't hold your breath for it" but deep down inside I have hope. No matter how small. Hahaha...

Seeing as I won't be getting the CSI ep til about 12 hours after you guys, I'll get a pre-show gauge on how much Greg is there from you guys. =)

, I like your wager on screen time...to the second. And I can let you know after I do my edits who comes closest. :D

Well I always have some hope but I don't like making them too high and then get disappointed. I rather keep them lower and be pleasantly shocked.

You know what? We should totally do a Greg-centric-CSI watching party after the finale. Pick an ep, watch it on a Thursday night (Or Friday morning for me) and make live posts.

Best part is, we get to choose which ep we like and not have to worry about screentime. =)

That's not a bad idea for the Summer Break time. We can pick one Greg centric ep a week to watch and then discuss all about him in that ep.

Great, we can then start picking out our fav Greg eps to watch.

On a separate note, the 'Doctor Who' discussion thread is... how should I put it? Troubling.

Oh, I love the idea of doing Greg-centric, well anything, really! A Greg-centric-CSI watching party sounds very good to me!

:)I love Greg:)

:guffaw:I hope he won't be doing Archie's job during that 4 min 47 seconds. His screentime wasn't bad in the last season finale if i remember correctly but it's because probably George Eads wasn't in it.

Also Greg-centric summer idea is great.

I love the idea of watching episodes throughout the summer break. Just hope we can find a time to suit everyone :D

I'm also thinking that maybe it would be quicker/easier for us to chat on yahoo or something while watching instead of posting here? We can easily create a group chat and that way we won't miss posts and can talk in more 'real time'.

What do you guys think?

As for the finale...I tend to take everything CM says with a grain of salt. Better yet, a whole salt shaker.

I think it would be really hard with everyone's different time zones and work/school schedules to have one time that would work for everyone. I think it would be best to just pick an episode to watch at some point on your Thursday (which is the typical day a new CSI airs in most places) and then on Friday we can just start up conversation here on this thread about the episode. That way this thread does not loose too much traffic either because I have a feeling we won't be seeing or hearing much about Eric this summer overall since I do not think he is doing that film/TV festival this year.

That makes sense Dizzney. I'm all for it!

Maybe on a weekend once in a while we can try a group chat just for fun.

As for Monte Carlo, I haven't a clue who is going to that this year. As much as I would love to see Eric there again it's not likely is it?

ETA: Just googled and apparently Carol Mendelsohn is going this year, although there is no mention of anyone from CSI on the official Festival website. Weird huh?

This is from the interview CSI Files had with David Rambo:
CSI Files: Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda) was expressing job frustration earlier in the season over his case assignments. Is he still feeling dissatisfied, or has that passed?

Rambo: I’d like to think that over the course of the season, Greg discovered that the team does respect him. He’s worked with everyone, and shown he’s as capable as any of them. I think Greg loves his job, and knows that this is the best place he could be. By the way, Eric and I really had fun filming "Take My Life, Please" at the end of the season. He so admired Tim Conway and Jennifer Tilly, and the humor in that silly case I wrote.

Sounds like they're dropping the whole 'Greg Angry! Greg Smash!' angle. While Rambo is generally one of my favorite producers for the show - and he's done some of the best work with Greg - I disagree with what he's said here. There have still been some instances where Greg has shown mild annoyance and/or aggravation over the way he's been treated in the lab. "Irradiator" comes to mind when Sara walked away from him when he was talking to her. But there's still two episodes left so maybe he will get some lovin' (doubt it, though).

I did like the part about "Take My Life, Please". I would have liked to have seen a 'behind the scenes' clip with him and Jennifer. That would have been great. Maybe that ep could get a commentary on the DVD and actually have Eric do some of it for once.
