LOS ANGELES:50 QUAKE FAULTS ADDED TO MAP:wtf:

More than 50 new surface earthquake faults have been discovered in California over the last two decades, according to a new state map that officials hope will help guide future development decisions and energency planning. The state's fault activity map, produced by the California Geological Survey, is the first in 16 years and offers a sober reminder of California's quake risks. The new faults range from small ones that don't pose much threat to major ones that will cause much damage, like the one responsible for the 7.1 Hector Mine earthquake in the Mohave Desert that shook Southern California in 1999~ [chews nails]:mad:It makes one very nervous and scared all the time:(

There was one in Baja , Mexico, and my town got the really big aftershocks. It's an hour away from the border, and one day, we had a quake that lasted for five minutes, which was unusual, even for us people in California.

2 QUAKES STRIKE SAN DIEGO AND IMPERIAL COUNTIES

A pair of moderate earthquakes rattled parts of San Diego and Imperial counties, but their were no reports of damage or injuries. The U.S. Geological survey says a magnitude 5.0 quake striuck at 11:33 am Saturday about 16 miles west-southwest of El Centro, near the small Imperial Valley farm town of Seeley. A magnitude 4.7 quake hit about 15 minutes later in the same area~and so it goes, on a daily basis:mad:
