Dourdan May Join 'Celebrity Rehab'

CSI Files

Captain
A former <I>CSI</I> actor could wind up back on TV screens this fall.<p>As CSI Files previously reported, <I>CSI: Crime Scene Investigation</I> star <font color=yellow>Gary Dourdan</font> (Warrick Brown) was recently <A class="link" HREF="http://www.csifiles.com/news/290408_02.shtml">arrested</a> and <A class="link" HREF="http://www.csifiles.com/news/130508_01.shtml">charged</a> with drug possession. The actor <A class="link" HREF="http://www.csifiles.com/news/280508_02.shtml">pleaded guilty</a> at his arraignment and was able to avoid spending time in jail. Dourdan was ordered to complete a 16-class drug treatment program.<p>The <I>National Enquirer</I> has reported that Dourdan might be taking part in a different kind of program as well. Filming for the second season of the reality series <I>Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew</I> started on Monday, and while a spokesperson for the show refused to confirm Dourdan's involvement, a source indicated that the actor would be taking part. "Gary knows he screwed up, but he wants to stay in the public eye," the source told the <I>Enquirer</I>. "He didn't think twice about doing the show. He's used to being on TV."<p>The program lasts 21 days and is lead by <font color=yellow>Dr Drew Pinsky</font>. Dourdan is rumored to be joining <font color=yellow>Rod Stewart</font>'s son <font color=yellow>Sean</font>, <I>Grease</I> star <font color=yellow>Jeff Conaway</font>, <font color=yellow>Tawny Kitaen</font> and <font color=yellow>Steve Adler</font>. The second series airs in October.<p>The original article is from <A class="link" HREF="http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2008/06/13/gary_dourdan_to_join_celebrity_rehab_">Starpulse</a>.<center></center>

o_O umm, lol? i'll be watching it :p

ETA:
i kind of wish he didn't take part in this, though. it's putting personal problems in front of the whole country, and i like it better when actors avoid the public light in such matters.

I cannot understand why shows like that are even on TV. I think it's sad that some 'celebrities' with serious problems are really that desperate to stay in the public eye. :(

I hope Gary gets all the help he needs and I wish him all the best in the future.

LOLOL. Isn't The National Enquirer one of those trash rag magazines which is very unreliable?

Bad move on Gary's part if he did this.

Yeah. The Enquirer is one of those supermarket Tabloids. I take anything that they say with a grain of salt.

That being said, I've never watched "Celebrity Rehab" or that show on A&E, "Intervention," Which has a similar premise, but with "regular" people. They both look like trainwrecks supreme. Not the kind of thing I want to see. Shame on Dr. Drew, who actually is a reputable Addiction specialist/therapist, for doing this show.

I also, as stated above find it kind of nauseating that celebs are so desperate to stay current and in the spotlight that they put all their dirt out there. Definitely a bad move on Gary's part to do this, if in fact he is. I'd rather see him handle his business behind closed doors and then come backs stronger than ever.

I completely agree, it's adding insult to injury. Why air the ditry laundry in public, this is a matter for himself and those he chooses to have around.

I don't believe this crap, he's too classy and has higher standards than to put himself, on a tacky show like this, we'll see, till then I wish him the best in conquering his demons his way:bolian:

omg, that is such a trashy show for D listers who are desperate for attention. Anyone who is serious about drug rehab should NOT be doing this.

Oh God no!!! Gary please don't do this to yourself!!! Just go away and do it privately. We don't need to know about everything in your life.

I hope some of the other cast members talk some sense into him!

Oh my God I hope this is a rumour and rumour only!!!

I hope he don't join it. I watch the show, it was stupid show and you have to tell the doctor your problem, I wouldn't tell them. I do it in private. I saw Daniel Baldwin (Adam's brother.) Bobby Conway (Taxi) He was bad, he just don't want to give up his drugs problem and other celebrity. I don't want to know about his problem. I want him to get help in private with the help from his friends.

I really hope that Gary doesn't do this show either. I saw it once, so stupid. Some things should be dealt with in privacy. I hope this really is a rumor and if it is true, that his friends talk him out of it.

Actually, Daniel Baldwin is the brother of Alec, Billy and Stephen Baldwin.

the problem is that Gary has denied in a public statement that the drugs were his, but pleaded guilty to possesing some of them. he also denied that he has any kind of problem so his participation in this show would contradict what he said.

i'm actually getting more convinced that this might be a strech. and as some of you already said, National Enquirer doesn't sound very reliable. anything can happen, though. i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

.

Actually, if he's denying the problem, then "Celebrity Rehab" would be the place for him to be. It's a way of avoiding the real issues and putting up the appearance of trying to get help but really just seeking more attention and screen time when he can't get hired anywhere else.

That is, of course, if this rumor proves true. And I really hope he isn't like that.

^ hah, you may be right about that. he could either be in a typical denial of an addict, or just doesn't want to say anything in public. but if he wants everybody out of it, then why join Celebrity Rehab?

he can't get hired anywhere else.
nah, there is a certain demand for him. he's done a lot of movies during CSI and as far as i recall he's got some upcoming projects. maybe he is just looking for more fame.

i don't really want to judge him until we get a whole story, though *shrugs*

Has it really come to this? If true, I think Gary has made another bad move...this time by appearing on one of those "reality" shows and discussing his drub problem in a public forum. He's bound to join the ranks of other celebrity losers like that Baldwin brother (forgot his first name), Tawney Kaitan, Gary Coleman, and that weird guy who co-starred in the movie "Stand by Me", etc.

I couldn't and wouldn't watch him in it. I'd be too embarrassed for him.
