Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Part 2

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

You make some good points. However, now you knew that was coming , as for calling Nick his best student, that was actually Billy saying that. Grissom's orignal line was "You did a good job". Nope, doesn't seem to me he cared as much for Nick as he does for Sara, Warrick, and Greg. Let's see Warrick was his 'rock' and complimented him more than that. Sara got away with murder (figure of speach) and Greg and Warrick were like sons to him.

I really don't remember Greg being treated like a favorite son. When would that have been? Also, I can remember Grissom getting more visibly angry with all three that you mentioned than I can him getting visibly angry with Nick.

I have to agree with happyharper13, I don't remember Grissom treated Greg as his favorite. He treated Greg as he did Nick. Greg isn't his favorite. It's always Warrick and Sara, they got away with everything. Catherine and Nick never did get away with it. Greg is afraid of Grissom, if you watch him. He alway nervous around him.

I don't think Greg was always nervous of Grissom, he stood his ground many times when he worked in the Lab, but I guess when he went into the field it was a whole new playing field and he minded his cues a little more, for a bit.

But I remember when he stuck up for Mia when Grissom wouldn't take her word on her results and he was still a newbie.

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

So how do you fans like the possibility of Cath and Det. Vartann getting together? Sara saw something between them in last nights episode, but Cath dummied up. I never saw anything particulary sizzling between them, but maybe the writers have something in line, down the line for them:p The only one I ever saw that brought out the best in her was Warrick, and they got rid of him. So it's time for Cath to have someone of her own:thumbsup:

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

I like the idea of Catherine and Vartann. From what I got from Cath's non-answer to Sara's question is either they are on the verge of a relationship or already in one.

I kinda hope they're already in one. Both are mature, stable adults. The feel from them that I got was very domestic. Cath and Warrick had lots of sexual tension and charged moments. Cath and Vartann appear more relaxed and comfortable. Almost as though they have been together for awhile.

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

Well, I was always torn between shipping Cath/Griss and Cath/Vartann. So when they had Grissom and Sara hook up, naturally I moved on to Cath/Vartann. So I am all for it.

But, my channel kept messing up last night, so I didn't hear whatever Sara asked Cath. I'll have to watch the ep online later on. :)

Me too. As much as I loved Gil and Cath's playfullness, banter and chemistry I have always like the idea of Detective Vartann and Catherine too.

I don't want 'gooey eyes' between them either. I don't think it will happen because they don't work together. They report to different bosses (wait, actually she is the boss ) but their path's won't cross all the time. Which will make it more interesting to see how they play it out. :D

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

Well, for all the fans who want this relationship to move forward, I'm all for it too. And they will probably keep it quiet, unless Cath blows the whistle, she's not the quiet type, but he is. I like some -goo-goo eyes, why not, couples who are smitten with each other do that. Now, maybe fans will understand how all the GSR fans felt, and thought this was the best part of the last nine years, romantically wise I mean, and they ended up married. So would you like to see this progress to that level?:p

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

I'm undecided about Cath and Vartann. After reading a certain stupendous fic, I'm a bit stuck on Sofia/Vartann. And Yo!Bling is just so...:adore: Maybe Vartann will help Cath move past her grief for Warrick ;(

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

Sofia and Vartann, I can't remember them ever together on a case, were they? she's been gone for a while. I think this mix of Cath/Vartann might be good, but their not in a relationship [which means a couple are together, and everyone knows] as of yet unless their hiding it really well. She's still mooning over Warrick, so when would this have happened? I thought the writers were also bringing in a love interest for Nick, and what about Greggie:(

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

Oh I think it's great that they have Catherine and Vartann together. It would be so cool!

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

Well, Sara said that Cath/Vartann was still in its investigative stage. So I think if they are dating then they just barely started. Maybe they've only been on one date together or something.

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

nice to see a new ship that people don't fight over and that could be entertaining to watch. plus i'm looking forward to maybe some Grissom/Sara references in the Catherine/Tony context. :)

i think Cath realized that fishing from a company pier is not an automatic relationship failure after witnessing at least one that worked out. her old view that 'lovers and coworkers never work' is probably what stopped her from going after Warrick. his death was another wake up call for her too.

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

Cath and Vartann are so good together. And I think (and have read it somewhere in this thread) that at least some of them should find some love. You know, the infamous soul mate, the other half, the significant other... They are all way too lonely, no one should live like that. Everyone on the graveyard shift deserves some lovin', they've been through so much. They are not getting any younger too. Riley was the youngest, but she's gone. Now even the kid of the team, Greg, is what you could call an 'adult'. Hehe. But he will never grow up, that's for sure
Anyway, what I wanted to say right before I started to rant (sorry for the OT), is that I agree with Cath/Vartann relationship, it's really cool, and they look good together. So... who's next? Hodges and Wendy? They are cute together, and there are sparks.
I was just thinking something today right before I took a peak in this thread. Some time ago there was Torchwood on TV here. I haven't seen a lot of it, only from time to time. And I was so surprised to see the same sex couple. It's not common in criminal/sci-fi/horror shows. Such couples are mentioned from time to time when it comes to victims, but not main characters. So, do you think that something like that would be possible in this show? I know there are many Greg/Nick shippers, but I'm really not sure if it would ever happen. Probably not, but I keep wondering. Don't know, they do have such a good chemistry together. Better then any other team member.
Also, I watched 'Lover's Lane' today. Again  The last scene, with the 'CSI family'... It's so nice, so beautiful, so... I don't even have the words. I know that that IS OT, and I'm sorry, but it gets to me so much, every time, and I just had to mention it.

Re: Debate/Dislike a Ship Thread -- CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Par

Greg has actually grown up a lot though. I like the more mature side of him too though (natural progression and all). However, I wish they'd at least mention Greg having a girlfriend (heck they even did that with Archie before and SuperDave mentions his wife now and then)... we don't necessarily have to see them out together or anything... just knowing that he has someone would be enough.

As for the whole would they ever have main characters that are same sex pairings, there was a thread about that around here somewhere. I can't remember what it was called though.
