Re: ~David Caruso Thread #4 'A One-way Ticket To HC/DC Pleas

If I remember correctly, David is contracted for 5 years. However, he has also said that he would like to play Horatio for as long as the character continues to exist! As Anthony Zuiker said he wouldn't want anyone else in that role, I think David is here for the long term (depending on how long the series runs for obviously!) Yay! :D

Thanks very much for the info Lucy - that's wonderful news! :D *breathes heavy sigh* I can see why AZ wouldn't want anyone else to play him :D

So what happened with DC in Blue then? did he lose his contract because of something he did? (sorry - think I may be missing something here  ).

Re: ~David Caruso Thread #4 'A One-way Ticket To HC/DC Pleas

I'm with you on that one Tink I love the show but a lot of that reason is beacause of DC, Miami without H seems wrong somehow.

I read that he is happy and wants to play H for as long as he can, it took him so long to recover after 'blue' that I'm sure he wouldn't do that same thing again!

You're welcome. :)

David got alot of negative press about it at the time, but he left because he basically wanted to do movies. I think I have this right - he was offered 2 movie roles (in 'Kiss Of Death' and 'Jade'), but the producers of NYPD Blue did not want to release him. So, he decided to leave anyway! Neither movie did very well, so he was branded a bit of a foolish failure. By his own admission, David says that at the time he found the success of 'Blue' difficult to handle, and he was rather naive and inexperienced about the whole thing. He's grown up alot, has realized his mistakes and has learnt from them. He's actually had a pretty successful acting career when you look at his filmography, but he's learnt the hard way and has taken a few knocks on the way! Hence his gratitude for being given a second chance in a major tv role in CSI:M. Thank you, Anthony Zuiker - we will be forever grateful to you for choosing DC to play H! :D

Re: ~David Caruso Thread #4 'A One-way Ticket To HC/DC Pleas

^To lucy's comment. He said to become a star in one night... it was too much to handle. I never understood why Steven Bochco and Milch and gang didn't let him do movies... all other Blue cast did... at least Smits did.

I kinda understand DCs way back in those days. It was his dream to do movies. He just wanted to do what he has always wanted to do. (and KoD wasn't THAT bad) Just like Rory when he left CSIM. Wanted to do movies.

But that's all behind us :D (But I cannot believe Bochco and stuff are still pissed off because of that)

oh wibbsy, if they are still showing "Michael Hayes" in UK, I suggest you try to catch it :)

Re: ~David Caruso Thread #4 'A One-way Ticket To HC/DC Pleas

Absolutely AZ is one of my favourite people for this ;)

I like to read DC interviews these days cause he is really honest about the things that went on and how he has learnt from the past, it really riles me that there are still so many DC haters out there still hanging onto hating him cause he left 'Blue' and still throwing that back in his face. Me I think it takes a big man to admit that you made mistakes and have picked yourself up again.

Good on him, I'm with him all the way

CSI:M. Thank you, Anthony Zuiker - we will be forever grateful to you for choosing DC to play H!
I'm with you there Lucy, Oh how I love Anthony Zuiker! :D

It's a shame 'Kiss Of Death' didn't do to well, I really do like that movie! It had a strong cast, and DC was great in it.

Re: ~David Caruso Thread #4 'A One-way Ticket To HC/DC Pleas

I thought 'Kiss Of Death' was good too. I wasn't too keen on 'Jade', but KOD was a decent film as you say, and I was surprised it didn't do too well.

Re: ~David Caruso Thread #4 'A One-way Ticket To HC/DC Pleas

It`s so nice to hear that DC like his characters H. it`s to many examples of the actor which don`t like theirs part (role). hope CSI Miami to not end soon (more 3-4 years). :)

all DC movies are gool. as i say before in most of them he play with real moves "stars". whitch is good for him, and remind me tha DC is super actor (player) :D

PS IMS great to see you back, hope u will come here more often....

Re: ~David Caruso Thread #4 'A One-way Ticket To HC/DC Pleas

I like the fact that he plays a different character in most of his movies cause while there were differences JK and HC are very similar in the character stakes. But the movies give a different role and show he has a great range, always better for an actor to do this shows great ability.
