Danny/Flack #7: Flack Makes It His Business

The waving - the waving! :lol: I re-watched the scene today, and all I could think was, 'Geez, what a dorky and obvious wave, Flack.' But I like that they make each other happy.

Those pictures are ridiculously cute. How can you look at Flack's expression and not smile? (Plus, he kind of looks like a chipmunk or something, which is even more adorable. Where is Kimmy to draw me chibi!Flack in a chipmunk suit? :lol

I so love that. Flack is really the coolest character on the show--he's sharp, he's hot, he's not a science nerd... and yet he becomes such a dork around Danny. :lol: He laughs at Danny's not-so-funny jokes, he smiles goofily, he stares (oh boy, does he stare ) at Danny with this mesmerized expression on his face. Awww, Flack. :adore:

LOL! I love how he just comes to life the minute he sees Danny. He's all kind of disinterested and whatever, and then he spies Danny and his eyes light up and he's just smiling like a kid in a candy store.

I love the screen shots and captions. LOL! That was my favorite part of the episode even though they only had visual and phone contact. My smile was probably even more goofy than their's were when they were interacting.

Ok, so - "Cuckoo's Nest" was a great Flack episode, but we didn't get any actual interaction between Danny and Flack. That's the bad news - the good news is that we have confirmation that Danny has a key to Flack's apartment.

In light of the Flack stuff from the latest episode, what say you, my fellow slashers, about Danny and Flack's relationship?

In Season 4, Flack didn't have keys to Danny's apartment and had to get the super to let him in, but now Danny has keys to Flack's apartment (and Mac knows it). Did the relationship get closer (I know Danny's married but I'm ignoring that for now) or does Danny have trust issues?

It could be that after what happened with Danny in season four, either Danny decided to give Flack a key or Flack demand--er, I mean, he asked for one - and probably gave Danny one in return.

But I guess Danny hasn't been around lately if he didn't know about how trashed the place was. It's understandable considering everything that's been going on in Danny's life, but if he'd stopped by Flack's place, he might have seen just how far Flack was falling...

In fact, let me extrapolate a bit - Flack probably didn't expect anybody, especially Danny, to notice that anything was going on. Even when things started to get really bad. He probably thought, 'Danny's got his own life, and he isn't going to bother with me.' (Or maybe Flack wouldn't be that emo, but I'm just tossing it out there. )

In any case, if Flack thought Danny was getting on with his life and they'd drifted apart, that would probably make the revelation that Danny was searching hospitals to find out if he turned up dead even more jarring. I bet nothing snaps Flack out of it faster than realizing he might be hurting Danno. *pet pet*

I definitely think Danny has trust issues. It seems like Flack (and Mac and Lindsay) constantly have to break through those walls Danny has over and over. I don't think it's a conscious thing--I think Danny just doesn't know how to trust. I think that's part of what makes Flack so protective of Danny--he knows how vulnerable and damaged Danny is. Flack has a savior complex, and Danny is kind of the ultimate damsel-in-distress... he's emotional, vulnerable and constantly getting into danger.

It could be that after what happened with Danny in season four, either Danny decided to give Flack a key or Flack demand--er, I mean, he asked for one - and probably gave Danny one in return.

With how pissed off Flack was in that episode, I would not be surprised if he demanded a key from Danny.

I wonder if Danny was physically able to get to Flack's place in a wheelchair? I assume so, but who knows. And I think Flack kind of withdrew a bit from Danny--it seemed to me he was trying to protect Danny from seeing how messed up he was. He was always acting happy and fine around Danny, in part I think because Danny just makes him happy, and in part because he didn't want Danny to worry. It's sweet how insanely protective Flack is of Danny.

Emo and Flack so don't go together. :lol: I thought it was totally a protective thing on Flack's part--Flack protects Danny from everything... even himself.

Exactly. I love, love, LOVE that what snapped Flack out of it was specifically that Danny was searching hospitals for Flack's dead body. The realization that the one person he always tries to protect was searching hospitals for his dead body really got through to him. He knows how vulnerable Danny is, and what that must have been doing to Danny. What do you think Danny's reaction was the next time he saw Flack?

I think Danny's reaction would be relief that Flack is fine and maybe some annoyance that he had to go looking. Flack on the other hand would probably be a little embarrassed that he caused Danny all that trouble. But, he also would be thrilled that Danny was no longer using the cane. His boy is doing so much better. And make no mistake, Danny is his boy.

^Oh, Danny is definitely his boy. I think Danny's reaction might be a little more extreme--I can see him being relieved, but then all the worry and fear would probably come out... as pouting, no doubt. :lol: But Flack's gotten pretty good at cajoling Danny out of bad moods, so I'm sure they'd probably talk for a while, and then well.... :devil: I doubt even a bruised chest could keep Flack from sleeping with his Danno. :devil:

I know why Flack couldn't talk to Mac about what happened with Cade, but I hope he can talk to Danny about it. I'm still not sure Danny knows exactly what happened with Cade down in the basement, but if he figured it out, I'm sure he kept Flack's secret. And Danny wouldn't feel torn in the way Mac was.

I happened upon the second episode with Flack's sister last night when I came home, and I have to say, I just love the moment when Flack comes into the lab looking for Danny and calls out, "Danno, Danno!" when he sees him. Seriously... it's just so cute. :adore: I love all the nicknames Flack has for Danny. :adore:

Resurrecting this thread because I thought it was positively adorable how Danny called Flack "Donnie boy" last night. I love the nicknames these two come up with for each other. Usually lovers' pet names for each other get annoying after a while, but not with "Donnie boy" and his "Danno." They're just beyond cute. :adore:

I had to chuckle at "Donnie boy" too. :lol: And I half-expected Flack to hover around Danny in the house toward the end - there's no way Flack would let a booby trap get his Danno. Just seeing them in a scene or two together was nice, though.

Although I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed that Flack wasn't more freaked out by the creepy house - it wasn't too many years ago that Stella and Aiden were teasing him about being scared of a haunted monastery. It would have been funny if Flack was freaked out but tried to hide it from Danny, hehe. Oh well.

It looked like he might have been hovering a bit in the end--it was hard to tell from the way it was cut. But yeah, Flack was probably relieved Danny was back in the lab for most of the episode.

That may have been why he wasn't freaking out--it's funny how in front of Stella and Aiden he had no problems admitting his fears, but in front of Danny, he's got to be the big strapping man. :lol: Probably because he knows Danny relies on him so much.

It kind of ties in to his ordeal this season, and his downward spiral--the one person he really hid it from was Danny. Whenever he was around Danny, he seemed fine--pretty normal and happy, really. I think part of that is because being around Danny just makes him happy--his whole face lights up! the guy's got it bad--and part of it was that he wanted to protect Danny. A lot of their relationship seems based on Flack being the strong one and Danny being the damsel in distress so to speak, so Danny is the one person Flack wouldn't want to see him at his worst.

Indeed, it was Mac's mention of Danny searching hospitals for Flack's dead body that finally got Flack to snap out of his denial and broke down those walls. The last person Flack wanted worrying about him or knowing he wasn't coping well was Danny. And I think that's why Mac sent Danny after Flack--he knew if Danny found Flack, that would have a big effect on Flack.

Hi *waves*I'm new to this thread , i just pop in to say how much i love the attraction between Flack and Danny , i love the episode in season 4 when Flack said Boom it seems that he and danny were spenting a lot of time together and when Flack agree to help him when that women stole his gun , i also think they make the most sweetest couple ever !
