Actor Rex Linn, who has portrayed stern Detective Frank Tripp since the first season, has finally been given star billing. The move may be an attempt to fill the void created by the departure of Sofia Milos, who played resident detective Yelina Salas.

lol, it's funny you bumped this up b/c I was meaning to post in here earlier. I was fliiping through the channels and came across a movie on the Lifetime Real Women network from 1999, and it had Rex Linn it it. He had a moustache and played a cop. I don't remember what it was called though. Something about a murder on 'something' mountain, I think.

That's it! Thank you, Destiny. It was bothering me that I couldn't remember. I just caught it towards the end, so I didn't know much about what was going on, and I thought I'd remember the name, but I should know by now I need to write that kind of thing down. :lol:

I love Frank! He totally deserves to be added to the cast
And Rex Linn does an excellent job portraying him; he's so believable! He's definitely one of my favorite characters.

Add me to the 'delighted Frank has been made a regular!' list. He brings a welcome humour to the show, which at times it needs. Frank and Valera are really important members of the cast for that reason, imo. I'm still sulking over Yelina's departure, but that takes nothing away from Frank. He's great!

I definately agree that Tripp should have his own cute little thread.
I'm glad Rex Linn has become regular!! I've seen several of his movies before he joined Miami including 'Rush Hour' with Jackie Chan and 'Cliffhanger' with Stallone.
