I agree with you about pretty much everything you said about Ray. I loved Riley though personally. I don't think she was given enough time/scenes/lines, etc to even begin to fit in/find her footing. As soon as Langston came in, she was shoved in the background along with a lot of the time Greg, Nick and sometimes Cath. It became all about Ray... and now they are giving him more authority? I hate to say it, but I really hope it backfires on them and that the ratings tank even lower. I'm ready for this show to be over (didn't think I'd ever see the day that I'd say that lol) so that the wonderful cast can move on to bigger and better things. I don't think tptb truly appreciate some of them the way they should.
I don't think tptb are really listening that much to fans. If they were, they wouldn't be giving Langston more authority. They're claiming that's what fans wanted. I've never seen any fan anywhere say anything of the kind. They all said he had TOO MUCH authority. They're twisting the actual words of the fans because they are money hungry. That's all it comes down to... the green dough. I'm getting quite sick of "The Langston Show".
What they should have done (as much as I love Riley) in the beginning is made Wendy a CSI (because we were already familiar with that character) instead of bringing in a new character for the audience to get used to after two characters had already left. The problem was tptb did not handle the situation the correct way.
I'm a firm believer that they should have given George and Marg, Eric, Paul, Wally, Robert, etc a chance to see if they could pull the viewers in on their own before bringing in someone else the minute Billy left. There is nothing wrong with a test drive. They could have given them at least five episodes to see how the ratings did. The fact that they didn't says to me that they don't believe in the original remaining cast members. That doesn't sit well with me at all.
:guffaw: That's hilarious!
Yeah, that's true. That's a smaller number than they may think. If everyone else stopped watching, I don't think his fans would be enough to keep the show's ratings at a high enough level. If that were the case then they wouldn't need to bring Sara back to boost ratings.
I think Gary's leaving had more to do with his personal issues than anything else. But, it's still not 100% sure whether it was his choice or whether he was fired. I've heard both. And he did an interview not too long after leaving the show where he sounded bitter, so that makes me lean more to the fact that he was let go (maybe due to those personal demons). In the interview, he complained about the fact that the show had hired someone like Kevin Federline to guest star. He was not too happy with that decision at all.
Sometimes I have to wonder if tptb are trying to purposely sabotage the show.

By the way, how does giving him a new wardrobe bring up the ratings?
You can put a tuxedo on a frog it will still be a frog. It will not change to Prince Charming unless in a fairytale.

I firmly believe that the producers are making a mistake to listen to the feedback of his fans only.
