Hit and Run
didn't the resume give you a hint?
Well here comes the next chapter, (and as NattyBatty says: Kleenex might be needed.)
Chapter 11. A mothers worst fear.
They had been sitting in Macs office for nearly 3 hours. “You should go home, spend some time, relax, it’s just making it worse for you to sit here and hear everything.” Mac looked at them, Flack nodded, Stella really didn’t want to leave, “But Mac, it’s my baby girl were talking about!” Flack took her hand, “Lets go home, its better there.” The look on his face convinced her that it was probably best. Stella carried her half-sleeping Rebecca to the car.
At around 4Pm she woke up by someone knocking at the door, she went to check if her angel still were a sleep before she went to open the door.
It was Mac, he was crying, “Stella, I was called to a crime scene, and…” He took a deep breath, but she kind of knew were he was headed, she felt the tears stream down her cheek as he continued: “It was Penny… she’s gone.” He was unable to say anymore. Stella fell, she was just sitting there on the floor, crying like she would never be able to stop.
Flack had heard them, but the minute her saw her sitting there crying, he knew what was going on, she could tell by the look in his eyes. He went to her, sat down next to her and held his arms around her.
“She’s gone?” He asked Mac, who nodded slowly. Stella moved closer to Flack, right now she really needed to feel that he was there for her, even without Penny.
He kissed her hair, then she heard tiny footsteps as Rebecca came out in the hallway, “Mommy?” Stella pulled herself together and went to her daughter, she hugged her. “Baby? Penny… She wont come back to us.” She saw how Rebecca started to cry and asked: “But, she can visit us, okay?” Stella smiled “I’m afraid not baby, but one day, you well get to heaven were she is now, with all the other angels.” Rebecca smiled, as she hugged her mother again, “don’t cry mommy, is not your fault.”
She loved Rebecca even more now, she promised herself never to let anything happen to her. She felt like this was the end of everything, but she would fight, fight to get through this! For Flack and Rebecca! They needed her, and she needed them, more than anything now.
Even though she wanted to be strong, she felt that she would never be able to live life at the fullest anymore. The only thing keeping her sane right now, was her daughter and Flack. Their family might have lost a very precious part, but they would still fight on, for Penny’s sake.
