After three weeks of searching I've finally found out what piece of music was playing during Stella's lab montage.

"The Stranger" by Oslo. Listened to the album's samples on iTunes and it's a good one.

Doesn't take much to make me a happy girl

Actually some kind soul submitted it at some tv fine-a-tune site or somewhere or other. Glad I didn't stop searching :)

Only problem is ... spending money on the album now.

Yay (joins in the happy dance)! Thanks so much for the info.
Every now and then, completely out of the blue this song would pop into my head, and I'd get annoyed that I didn't know the artist. I just couldn't forget it.
