Ok, I had the urge to dig up my old fic today and am currently writing the update...I'm sure it wont be long but I hope you like it
I needed to write some 'happy stuff' after reading/updating my other fic!
EDIT: Ok here we go
They got in the truck, Danny driving, and headed away from the graveyard. Lindsay turned in her seat watching the distant graves disappear from view.
After five minutes of silence Danny spoke, ‘You ok Montana?’
She turned around and nodded, ‘yep,’ Lindsay smiled, ‘yep I think I finally am. All these years I’ve had like this shadow of the past that went with me everywhere! But I suddenly feel alive, seeing Daniel Cadence being taken away today I sort of said goodbye to it all! And just then, at the grave yard, I realised it was time to finally say goodbye to my friends and that’s what I did. I’m finally happy and I know that they understand. And you know what? I don’t think I’ll be taking the trip down this road for a very long time. It’s time to move on and I plan to have as much fun as possible starting with these two weeks!’
Danny laughed at Lindsay’s sudden change and her face made him light up, ‘So Miss Monroe, where do you wanna go first?’
‘I want ice cream, Tommy’s ice-cream!’ Lindsay said with a huge grin.
‘Ice cream it is!’ Danny said as Lindsay turned up the radio and they sped up in the direction of ‘Tommy’s’
20 minutes later Danny and Lindsay were seated in the small ice-cream café that was situated on the outskirts of Bozeman. Both were eating large sundaes topped with whipped cream, strawberry sauce, sprinkles and chocolate flake.
‘So Montana, what’s this pinky coloured ice-cream?’
‘That is Tommy’s speciality! It’s sort of an orangy taste and those little strawberry bits make your tongue tingle and mouth water!’
‘Well I can certainly say that it makes your tongue tingle!’ Danny said as he dug further into his ice-cream. Two seconds later he jumped as something cold hit him in the forehead and slid down his face. He looked up to see Lindsay giggling, ‘What was that for Montana?’ That made Lindsay laugh even harder so Danny took aim and fired hitting Lindsay square between the eyes.
Before Lindsay could get another scoop of ice-cream Danny stole her spoon leaving her only one option. She stood up and poured the rest of her ice-cream onto his head. Danny squirmed as he felt the cold liquid go down the back of his neck as Lindsay ran out of the café into the rain. Danny dropped a few bills on the table and ran after her past Tommy the old owner who only laughed at the young people and went to clean up their mess.
Outside Lindsay had ran across the road to a bus shelter and was still laughing as Danny ran up and began to tickle her, ‘You think that was funny eh?’ Danny said between his own laughter. They collapsed by the wall of the shelter and tried to recover from their uncontrollable laughter.
‘That was fun!’ Lindsay said as she turned to look at Danny.
‘Oh yeh? You’re not the one with ice-cream all over them!’
‘Come on then let’s get rid of it!’ Danny looked at her confused as Lindsay stood up and headed out from underneath the shelter into the pouring rain.
‘Montana, what are ‘ya doing, you’re gonna get soaked?’
‘So! Come on Danny since when has a little bit of ran hurt anyone.’
Danny could hardly call it
a bit of rain but ran out and joined her where they began to dance and sing.
And that’s when it happened. At the same time they leaned in towards each other and as their lips met they ignited a fire. This kiss was not like their previous outside the court house but was full of hunger and passion. After what seemed like a life time their need for oxygen became too much and they pulled apart. Danny rested his forehead on Lindsay’s and wiped her soaking wet hair out of her face, ‘That…was…’
‘Amazing…’ Danny nodded as they tried to get their breath back. ‘I’m not gonna disappear this time Danny, I promise.’
‘I know,’ Danny said as he kissed her sweetly on the lips, ‘Lets go!’ He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and they headed back to the truck.
