Zap2It reported on the complete nominations, which also included movie stars, reality series and musical performances. While in the past, winners were determined by a Gallup poll, but this year the show's producers allowed Entertainment Weekly's "Front Row Panel" to pick a slate of nominees.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will compete for the top television drama prize against Alias, Gilmore Girls, The O.C. and The Sopranos. CSI: NY's nomination in the new drama category pits it against Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, Jack & Bobby and Lost.
