The CSI franchise earned nominations in several categories of the People's Choice Awards, including Favorite Drama, Favorite New Drama and Favorite Female TV Star.

Zap2It reported on the complete nominations, which also included movie stars, reality series and musical performances. While in the past, winners were determined by a Gallup poll, but this year the show's producers allowed Entertainment Weekly's "Front Row Panel" to pick a slate of nominees.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will compete for the top television drama prize against Alias, Gilmore Girls, The O.C. and The Sopranos. CSI: NY's nomination in the new drama category pits it against Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, Jack & Bobby and Lost.
