CSI: Miami - Race Against Time

Update time. Glad y'all like the story so far.

Homecoming

INT. MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

SPEEDLE pulls out his cell phone after grabbing his suitcase
from baggage claim. He starts heading towards vehicle claim
as he dials DELKO's cell phone number.

DELKO (PHONE VO)
Delko.

SPEEDLE
Eric, are you guys at the storage
facility yet?

DELKO (PHONE VO)
(in complete disbelief)
Speed? Wait, but you're supposed
to be dead. What the hell is
going on here? Why does your cell
phone still work?

SPEEDLE
Look, it's complicated Delko.
Once we find her I'll explain
everything.

DELKO (PHONE VO)
Alright. Look we're on our way,
we should be there in 20 minutes.
Where are you?

SPEEDLE
MIA, I'll see you in 20.
(he hangs up)


CUT TO:

EXT. PUBLIC STORAGE - 20 MINUTES LATER

SPEEDLE pulls up to the Public Storage building just as
CAINE, WOLFE, and DELKO get out of the CSI Unit Hummer.
SPEEDLE slams on the brakes of his Ducati and just barely
avoids flipping the bike over him.

SPEEDLE
(gets off of the Ducati)
This it?

CAINE
(turns around)
Speed? Why are you back here?
You're supposed to be in Texas.

DELKO
(looks at CAINE)
Wait, you knew about this too?
What the hell?

SPEEDLE
Like I said, it's a long story.
I'll explain it when we find
Calleigh.

CAINE
We're not sure if this is the
place, but it's the only lead
we've got. Let's go.

CAINE, WOLFE, and DELKO pull out their guns and head inside
while SPEEDLE opens his suitcase and grabs his new gun.

INT. PUBLIC STORAGE - OUTSIDE OF UNIT 1065

CAINE, SPEEDLE, WOLFE, and DELKO are outside of the storage
unit with their guns out. CAINE looks at the lock which is
keeping the unit secure.

WOLFE
(slaps on the door to
the unit)
CALLEIGH!?

CUT TO:

INT. DUQUESNE'S MAKESHIFT PRISON

DUQUESNE comes to and stands up before turning on her
flashlight and using it to find the door.

DUQUESNE
(runs to the door and
slaps on it)
GUYS!?

CUT BACK TO:

INT. PUBLIC STORAGE - OUTSIDE OF UNIT 1065

WOLFE
(pounds on the door again)
CALLEIGH! WE'RE COMING FOR YA'!
HANG IN THERE!

CAINE walks over to the lock and shoots it off of the door.

CUT BACK TO:

INT. DUQUESNE'S MAKESHIFT PRISON

DUQUESNE
(pounding on the door
as she begins to choke
back tears after
thinking about her situation)
GUYS!?

INT. PUBLIC STORAGE - OUTSIDE OF UNIT 1065

DELKO opens the door to the storage unit as WOLFE, CAINE,
and SPEEDLE run inside with their guns out.

WOLFE
CALLEIGH!?

CUT BACK TO:

INT. DUQUESNE'S MAKESHIFT PRISON

DUQUESNE
(still pounding the
door as her eyes start
to water)
GUYS?!

INT. PUBLIC STORAGE - UNIT 1065

SPEEDLE, WOLFE, DELKO, and CAINE look around the unit which
is empty besides a few shelves with old books and an
occasional clock.

SPEEDLE
She's not here.
(kicks the ground)
Damn!

WOLFE
No doors, no openings, nothing that
would fit somebody Calleigh's
size. Just a bunch of clocks and
books on a shelf. He took her somewhere else!

CAINE
(walks over to the shelf)
Clocks and books.
(he looks at the items)
These aren't family heirlooms or
old books, these are books that
the bomb squad studies. These
clocks are some of the most
common ones used in making time-
bombs. Gentlemen, he locked her
in a room with a time bomb. We're
in a race...
(he puts his hands on
his hips)
...against time.

CUT TO:

INT. DUQUESNE'S MAKESHIFT PRISON

DUQUESNE
(stops banging on the
door and curls up into
a ball before sobbing)
Where are you?
(she hears a ticking
sound and looks to her
left where a red light
is glowing)
What the...
(she looks closer and
sees red digital
numbers reading
11:59:54 counting down
by the second and
shines her light on
the item to reveal the
rest of the bomb)
Oh my God.

She only thought she heard the group. I borrowed that idea from CSI: Las Vegas - Grave Danger (The Quentin Episode)

Rescuing Calleigh

EXT. PUBLIC STORAGE - DAWN

SPEEDLE is standing with DELKO as WOLFE and CAINE head back
to the Hummer.

DELKO
(looks at SPEEDLE)
Okay, so when were you going to
tell me?

SPEEDLE
Tell you what?

DELKO
That you faked your death.

SPEEDLE
I couldn't that was the point of
faking the death. And what was I
supposed to do, call and go "Hey
Delko, just wanted to let you
know I'm not dead, it was all
faked because Stetler backed me
into a wall after mishandling
evidence?"

DELKO
Do you have any idea what we've
been through here?

SPEEDLE
I haven't had the best of times
hiding out as an undercover cop
down in Houston.

CAINE
(turns around from
where he was standing
at the open trunk of
the Hummer with the
laptop turned on)
Gentlemen, fighting isn't going
to ease the tensions in this case
one bit.
(his phone rings with
"Duquesne" on the
Caller ID)
Excuse me.
(he answers it)
Caine.

KIDNAPPER
I see you've found my light reading.

CAINE
(in a demanding tone
as he pulls up a phone
tracing program)
Who the hell are you and what did
you do to Calleigh?

KIDNAPPER
Nothing, yet. She's resting
peacefully. Now, my demands are
simple.
(MORE)

KIDNAPPER (CONT'D)
I want 1 million dollars and a
plane ticket out of here with no
cops following me. Drop everything
off at the young lady's cell
phone signal and maybe you'll
find her. You have 12 hours.
(he disconnects)


CAINE
Hello? Hello?
(he hangs up and looks
at the screen which is
tracing the signal to
a location in the
Everglades before
calling Tyler Jensen)
Tyler, yeah. I need you to give
me the coordinates of Calleigh's
cell phone signal. Yeah, it's on.

CUT TO:

EXT. EVERGLADES - MORNING

The CSI Unit Hummer pulls into the general vicinity of the
cell phone signal coming from DUQUESNE's cell phone with the
MDPD Bomb Squad, SPEEDLE, a MDPD Cruiser, and Fire-Rescue
following.

SPEEDLE
(gets off of his bike
and walks over to
CAINE who is getting
out of the Hummer)
So this is it?

CAINE
(nods and puts on his
sunglasses this is it)


DELKO
(points to the cement
block that the
KIDNAPPER used to
block the door to the
makeshift prison)
What's that?

CAINE
That...is a very out of place
concrete slab.

KIDNAPPER
(steps out from behind
a set of trees with a
gun which he points at CAINE)
Which you'll get nowhere near.

CAINE
(doesn't move)
Mr. Staunton, cop killers...cop
killers are hated in jail.

KIDNAPPER
I don't care.

SPEEDLE
(hands up)
Why'd you do it, Mr. Staunton?

KIDNAPPER
(doesn't notice WOLFE
get out of the Hummer
and pull out his gun
before cocking it)
What was I supposed to do after
the bitch got my brother locked
up for life?

WOLFE takes aim and shoots the KIDNAPPER in the chest twice
which causes him to fall to the ground.

CAINE
(turns around as
PARAMEDICS come running)
Nice shooting, Mr. Wolfe.

WOLFE
(lowers his gun)
Thanks.

SPEEDLE runs over to the cement block which is where he sees
a door and knows that DUQUESNE must be inside.

SPEEDLE
CALLEIGH!

INT. DUQUESNE'S MAKESHIFT PRISON

DUQUESNE
(stops sobbing and
looks at the door)
Guys!?
(she gets up and slaps
on the door)


CUT BACK TO:

EXT. EVERGLADES - MORNING

SPEEDLE tries to move the cement block, but his efforts are
futile.

SPEEDLE
(shouts)
Calleigh! Hang on!
(turns to the Fire-
Rescue team)
I need a tow! She's in a room in
the mound behind the cement!

A fire engine pulls up and the firefighters attach a chain
to the bumper before tying it around the block and gunning
the engine, moving the block out of the way slowly. SPEEDLE
is the first to get to the door and opens it to let DUQUESNE
get out of the room.

SPEEDLE
(looks at DUQUESNE as
she runs past him)
Calleigh?

DUQUESNE
(turns around)
Tim? No, this isn't possible.
You're dead, I'm dreaming.

SPEEDLE
(walks over to DUQUESNE)
It's not. I'm alive. My death was
faked.

DUQUESNE
(glares at SPEEDLE)


SPEEDLE
Calleigh?

DUQUESNE
(clearly angry)
You've been alive this whole time?

SPEEDLE
(nods)


DUQUESNE
(walks over to SPEEDLE)
Why didn't you call?

SPEEDLE
That'd defeat the purpose of the
faked death.

DUQUESNE
(starts pounding on
his chest as she gets
teary-eyed again)
Do you have any idea what this
team's been through? What I've
been through!? I have been seeing
a psychiatrist for the past six
months to deal with depression!
(she stops pounding on
SPEEDLE's chest and
begins to cry again)


SPEEDLE
(doesn't know what to
do and resorts to
pulling DUQUESNE into
a hug)


DUQUESNE stops crying and looks into SPEEDLE's eyes as he
looks into hers. After a few seconds the two kiss as Bomb Squad rushes into the room to disarm the bomb.

FADE TO BLACK.

THE END
 
...oops, I forgot a sentence. I'll edit and add, but while they kiss Bomb Squad rushes into the room to disarm the bomb.

Easter Egg Alert: The number for the Public Storage Unit that Staunton rented (1065) is the "10 Code" for Kidnapping as defined on Wikipedia.
