BORIS KODJOE JOINS MEDICAL DRAMA "CODE BLACK" IN A RECURRING ROLE
THIS JUST IN...
...From CBS Entertainment
Boris Kodjoe has joined the CBS medical drama CODE BLACK in a recurring role. Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 3, Kodjoe will portray Dr. Will Campbell, a suave surgeon whose surgical skills and personal charm are only outweighed by his ego. As Dr. Campbell works more closely with the doctors in the ER, tension builds between him and Dr. Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey), as they compete to prove who is the better surgeon.
"We couldn't be more excited to have Boris Kodjoe join the CODE BLACK family," said Executive Producer Michael Seitzman. "He comes in as Dr. Will Campbell, a well-respected surgeon with an arrogant edge. He's a character viewers will love, but also love to hate."
Kodjoe is best known for his role in the television series Soul Food. The show earned him three NAACP Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor. His other television credits include the series Second Time Around, Last Man on Earth, Undercovers, For Your Love, Franklin & Bash, Nip/Tuck, Crossing Jordan, Eve and Boston Public. Currently, he can be seen in The Real Husbands of Hollywood, which has earned him two NAACP Image Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Last summer, Kodjoe and his wife, actress Nicole Ari Parker, took on a new role as daytime talk show hosts in The Boris & Nicole Show. It had a four-week run in more than 20 markets, including New York and Los Angeles. The show had the couple's take on everything from current events to parenting and relationships, as well as feature celebrity interviews. His film credits include Resident Evil: Retribution, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Baggage Claim, Love and Basketball, Brown Sugar, Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion, The Gospel and Surrogates. Kodjoe made his debut on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and previously toured the country in the play Whatever She Wants.
CODE BLACK stars Marcia Gay Harden, Bonnie Somerville, Raza Jaffrey, Luis Guzmán, Melanie Chandra, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth and William Allen Young. Michael Seitzman, David Marshall Grant, Brett Mahoney, Molly Newman, Ryan McGarry, Marti Noxon and Linda Goldstein Knowlton are executive producers for ABC Television Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.
