Character or Crime?

I think there should be an equal balance of both . I love the science and crime side, especially when they get the bad guy, but I also like getting to know the characters and their personal lives, because who they are as people affects how they work their cases. I think the two aspects are intrinsically linked.

I think that you need to have a balance of the two things.
If you were to focus soley on the crime then the shows could start to become a bit boring or mundane.
If you focused only on the characters, then that would make it a soap opera.
A balance makes us feel like we are more in tune with what is going on and kind of gives the shows an element of reality to where we are sucked in to the point that we think "that could be our life too".
 
I'd vote for a lot more character, at least on Vegas. I feel like I can count the things I know about Greg, Nick, Doc Robbins, Brass, SuperDave and Wendy -- now all main characters -- on one hand each. For Miami, I'd like to see a lot less character development for Horatio. I haven't watched enough NY to really say for that.
