CSI Files
Captain
Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts welcome a son into the world.
Schreiber, who portrayed Michael Keppler in four episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation during its seventh season, worked with Watts on the film The Painted Veil. The pair has been dating since 2005 but kept Watt's pregnancy private until February. The news was prematurely revealed in a press release from the Italian fashion label Escada, who outfitted Watts for the Academy Awards.
Escada made the pregnancy public by stating that the gown Watts was wearing "sets off her most precious new asset—the baby she is expecting with longtime boyfriend Liev Schreiber." Watts herself did not address the rumors on Oscar night. Schreiber was on Late Night with Conan O'Brien the following evening and confirmed that they were going to have a child.
Robin Baum, Watts' publicist, announced that the baby was born on Wednesday, July 25. Alexander Pete Schreiber weighed in at eight pounds, four ounces and measured 22 1/2 inches long. This is the pair's first child.
