'Bittersweet' Discussion **SPOILERS**

Oh the microwave dumper. IDK why I didn't pick up on that. Must've been too long since I last saw him. Thanks

I agree that Jorja/Sara did good tonight.

Even though I knew there's be no Brass, I still watched. I missed Brass. Didn't like CSIs playing cops again either. I was hoping they were past that.

Loved DB and his interaction with everyone. I usually skip Brass-free episodes but I've really liked Danson in the first episodes and the promo looked good so I tuned in. His "Dark or Milk" question was great and I loved the scene at the end with Sara.

Really liking Morgan. Eating the chocolates even after finding a pube in the vat of chocolate and squicking Nick out was hilarious.

Fantastic Episode. Jorja was as magnificent as she always is when we get a Sara-Centric story. I really enjoyed the fact that the whole case and Sara's reaction to it is exactly what we've seen before from her, it's her defining trait, her passion for the job and the fact that on occasion, she can allow her objectivity to be compromised. That always makes for an awesome episode, so absolutely loved that we got just such an epi tonight.

It was great to see the continuity in the characterisation there, and again, it shows how the ptb are returning the show to its roots as they said they would, it really had echoes of similar episode back in the early seasons.
I'd have to agree KaiLUxO, Sara did indeed look gorgeous, in that business suit. (Although,of course, Sara always looks gorgeous ;) )

I saw the end twist coming, they've done that sort of thing before so I was always half expecting it.

Something else that for the past three episodes has shown echoes of the earlier seasons, is the inclusion of a B case/storyline. Furthermore, it's a B case that is a little more quirky and less dark than the main storyline.

All in All a fantastic episode. Loved it, first rate.

Loved the episode, and Jorja was awesome!
Sara was some of her old self; emotionally involved, but maintaining some control with Nick and DB's help. Loved the scene with Sara and DB at the end.
DB,"Have you eaten?"
Sara,"I'm not really in the mood."
DB, "Yeah, I'm hungry, too."
From her initial expression, I think she thought he was going to lecture her about becoming too attached to the victims, like Grissom did in TTtD. Instead, he offered her dinner. :) "I will go on." "I know you will."
Great scene!

Yeah, I knew as soon as I saw 'Wendell', he'd be involved. But, I admit, I didn't suspect Colleen. Sara's shock was heartbreaking. Great job, Jorja! And, I agree, KaiLUxO, I really liked her in the white blouse in the beginning. :)

I thought of Nesting Dolls, too, when Nick and Sara were splitting the concrete.
Also liked that they worked in the lab quite a bit in this episode.
DB at the dump was pretty funny.
I missed Brass, but Mitch is always a treat.

I liked the scenes where Nick was helping Sara with the case, especially their locker room scene.

I like Morgan and Greg together, but I agree with Dizzney, that their scenes seemed a little odd. Maybe it was the case. There was some lightness to their scenes, but the A case was so disturbing, it mostly seemed out of place in the episode.

Danson continues to impress me. I was looking forward to some juicy scenes with him and Jorja, and I got them tonight.

A- from me. (Would have been a solid A with a Grissom mention. :))

I loved this one! Best episode so far this season. Really solid old school CSI. DB is still doing great (only mentioned the wife once this week ;) ).

When DB asked, "What do you see?" and Nick said, "Oh, please don't start that!" Also the look on Sara's face when DB asked her to sit by him at the end. They are all still kind of bemused by him, huh? :) And DB mentioning continuity.

The chocolate case was icky. How could Morgan still eat that chocolate, "pre-pube" or not? :wtf: Poor guy tho. :( And poor Greg checking his hair, etc. and then Morgan asking about Nick. :( I really don't think anything will come of this "triangle" tho. At least I hope not.

Henry! And Morgan and Doc's scene was great! She's fitting in really well.

My only complaint is that the ending of the A case was a little rushed. I'm in a hotel with no DVR so I couldn't rewind and watch again, but it seemed kind of rushed and if you weren't paying attention it was hard to tell who was who and what happened. But overall, really good episode! :)

Great episode, the only thing for which I'll deduct points is too little Cath :(.

I really liked the scene with DB and Cath discussing Sara and the team. I like that Cath is really taking responsibility but we can still see how the whole thing affects her. I give her credit for trying to help DB with a little advice. Really nice scene.

I felt so sorry for Colleen. At first I thought it would be her and Gina, then I thought it would be the three of them, and I have to say I was surprised Gina was not involved at all.

Doc's niece was very underused and I kind of not know what the whole point of having her was; unless she'll be appearing again down the road. I was glad he was just showing her around because she did seem really young for Nick. It even made him look old lol.

And we have our official triangle. Kudos to whoever said it would be Greg interested in Morgan and Morgan interested in Nick.

Sara/Jorja did a really good job in this one. I have to say that I really, really disliked Sara. She was my least favorite character. But since she's been back without Gil she has really grown on me. I even like her a bit lol. Her emotions were spot on and I really liked her scene with Colleen's mom in the hospital and in the end with DB :).

B+

Very true! Did they even identify Collen's victim? It wasn't *Gina Lol bc she was in the hospital right?

They thought the victim was Colleen up until they busted in and found out she was the ... doer. The point wasn't identifying the victim there, but the criminal.

Just because Morgan asked about Nick's date doesn't necessarily mean she's interested in him. She may just be curious or just like to gossip or something. Or she knows Greg is into her and she's just messing with him (I mean he did fix/check his hair at the scene and she could have seen him and figured that he did it for her benefit lol). I really hope they don't do another love triangle. We just recently had the thing with Henry/Wendy/Hodges. Please PTB don't do another one. Way too soon.

I want the "triangle" to be something humors involving Hodges, Henry and Hodges mom... and not a traditional triangle (because those traditional ones are so overused).

Really enjoyed it, but don't know where to begin, you guys have covered most of it by the time I finally get to see it

D.B. is great and only getting better!
Loved the beginning and D.B.'s interaction with Nick once he showed up at the scene! D.B. checking out which one was Doc's niece and 'ordering' Nick to put his face in the 'sculpture'

I'm happy with Cath and D.B.'s 'supervisor' conversation about Ray and Sara, it was a good moment along with some good ole continuity.
Sara/Jorja was spectacular in this one, you go girl!

I definitely had to rewind the rescue scene at the end just to make sure I caught it all (I love you DVR). I was so caught up in the episode and not thinking ahead, that I didn't expect Colleen to be the 'doer' or for Gina to be innocent this one time. Colleen's mental situation reminded me somewhat of Stockholm syndrome, which is always sad.

I can't help it, but I love it when Nick goes to the rescue!
Thumbs up for Henry and DNA! The promotion is very deserved!

I loved Nick's talk with Sara, it shows just how close they are, and how they help each other, along with all of the fun and kidding.

OMG, all of the pube talk, that was totally hilarious. My son was watching with me and eating some Snickers right about the time Nick brought it up to Morgan. I think it killed his appetite a little :guffaw:

Please no romance triangle! Even before this epi aired I was sort of agreeing with whoever said it might be Greg interested in Morgan who's interested in Nick who knows better

Considering that the Doc's niece was just being 'shown around', she was awfully touchy-feely with our Nicky

I'm really happy with this season so far, can't wait for more!

That was another good episode and in my honest opinion, I think Season 12 has had the strongest start to a season for a long time. In the past, I've found that the second or third episodes to be pretty mediocre but I've been very impressed with the season so far.

The A-case was dark, really dark, and I did find myself squirming a little when they showed Gina's tapes. I think I'll definitely have to watch it again though because there's still a few moments I don't quite understand. (Was it ever explained how the copycat obtained the pressure washer?) I do think the outcome was a little rushed and a little more on the forensics side would have been nice, however I really liked the twist at the end as although I suspected that Gina was not the actual murderer, I was still surprised to find out it was the original victim who was actually the killer.

I'm not too sure about the B-case, the idea of drowning in chocolate was unique but like the A-case, the outcome was rushed and I felt a lot of it was left unexplained. I do like how they're bringing back the two-case format but so far I've found both B-cases rather lacking.

Sara really shined in this episode, although her announcement of Gina being a rapist to her neighbours irked me slightly, despite it being part of her character but I really liked her determination and her conversation with the mother and DB at the end.

There were some great character moments in this episode, particularly DB and Catherine's talk, I think it's really clear that DB doesn't want to break up the team in the way Ecklie hoped but I liked how Catherine gave him advice about the team, perhaps another forewarning of her imminent departure. :( I still really like DB and Morgan, although I noticed that Morgan was definitely a little more 'spunky' in this episode, she reminded me a little of Riley. (Albeit with better chemistry with the cast.)

I laughed hard at Greg checking out his hair in the mirror, as for this supposed love triangle, if it is happening I hope it's only for an episode and they don't drag it out, even better, I hope we're wrong and it's not the Greg/Morgan/Nick but maybe Greg/Morgan/Greg's job as has been suggested before.

One more thing I noticed, I liked how characters on different cases still interacted with each other. In recent seasons I've noticed if there are two cases they seem to split up the team, but I liked the way that DB helped Greg and Morgan with their case and that they still conversed with Nick in the break room just like the old times.

Personally, I thought it was the weakest of the three episodes we've seen of Season 12 so far, however, it's still leagues better than most of the episodes in the previous four or five seasons, I really think Season 12 has the potential to be one of, if not, the best season of CSI. Next week's episode looks pretty decent as well, particularly as I quite like some of the "Old Vegas" style episodes. Even though it's a DLA episode, they're usually fine so long as they're not about sharks, rap battles or mexican wrestling.

I'll give this episode a B+. The cases were pretty decent and the character moments were strong, the only letdown was that both cases ended pretty abruptly without a great deal of explanation. Other than that, it was another stellar episode. :)

I'm watching the episode online right now and typing as I go. I haven't read any responses so as not to spoil myself so if I'm repeating people I apologize.

I'm glad that they established Nick is only showing Doc Robbins' niece around. Nick doesn't look old by any means, but she looks twelve next to him. I can't help but think Greg would've been a better fit to show her around unless, of course, Doc Robbins was afraid Greg would hit on her and thought Nick wouldn't.

I really like the way DB handles the team. Both scenes with Nick at the art show and at the dump site were really good and so was the scene with Catherine. I was impressed with Catherine's ability to take responsibility for herself and recognize why she was demoted and DB was brought in.

I like the contrast between how DB does things and how Sara does things. Both are passionate, but DB knows how to remain professional and in control of his passion whereas Sara loses her cool. I like people who are passionate but Sara loses her cool too many times for my liking. She needs to learn how to control and use her passion to her advantage instead of her detriment.

OK, so now I know why they didn't have Greg take out Doc Robbins' niece. They couldn't set up a "triangle" with Morgan and Nick. I thought maybe a bit of friendly competition between Nick and Greg to impress the new girl could be fun if done correctly, but the whole Morgan likes Nick and Greg likes Morgan thing I'm guessing won't be fun. I hope they drop it quickly. At least everyone is staying professional at this point. I'd much rather Greg and Morgan get screen time that doesn't revolve around having an unrequited crush.

The ending to this one really shocked me. I was ready to say that I pegged microwave guy from the get go, but I had no idea it was Colleen.

The B case was pretty uninteresting, although I enjoyed seeing Kelly Hu back on a CSI show. (She was Det. Maka on NY for a while in the beginning)

I have to say that I really like how DB is able to maintain an air of "I'm the boss" while still having compassion and concern for the team. I also like how his family is always mentioned in the episodes. In a way he's almost like a father figure to the team even though he maintains the professionalism of a boss. I just really like that.

Hi back,
I love reading all your comments, you all have such in depth knowledge of the shows and characters. Makes it all worth it. Long live CSI...

Did you, tptb, ever consider hooking characters like Nick up with women closer in age. Nick looked as if he was going on a date with his daughter.

Awww..sexism is alive and well in Hollywood.

Ditto that. I liek the easy relationship and joking banter that Nick and Greg have, and although I like Morgan, if she comes between them, she will put me right off her!

Really loving DB the more I see of him, Danson is excellent!
