I totally agree. Even if Ray had a background in medicine, he was not trained in forensics. Even though I am only a handful of years away from retiring as a teacher, I changed grade levels this year and I have to admit to bowing to the other, younger teachers at my new grade level repeatedly...

I don't think that it's the fans that haven't been kind to newbies, but that we haven't been given a chance to get to know the new characters fully before they're pulled from the show. I kinda liked some of the characters that have been presented but have since been relegated to former status...
