    SAVE CSI: MIAMI!!!!!

Except that they have to pay to produce new shows. Selling content that has already incurred that expense is not the same. Plus, if the show suffers in quality, ratings will sag = lower ad revenue = lower syndication value.

    Grade 'Slainte'

Hell's Kitchen, now referred to as Clinton, was a century-old hangout for Irish immigrants. The Irish gangsters of the 1800s were moved out of the Five Points east, since the Italians were moving into the docks. There are four semi-traditional boundaries of HK: the Hudson River west, Times...

    Grade 'Slainte'

FWIW, "slainte" is Irish Gaelic for "health," pronounced SLAN-cheh. It's a drinking toast in Ireland and Scotland. Kind of like saying "cheers."

    "CSI" on PBS' Frontline

The one thing I got from the show was that there was no real "standard" in forensic investigation. For example, I know that the crime lab for the Phoenix PD has an ISO9000 certification. But what does that entail? And how did ISO come up with these standards? Also, Cyril Wecht came off...

    Episodes airing on WE tv!!!

I just saw a commercial on AMC which said they were the only network carrying CSIM. I know they bought the rights from A&E. I wonder if they bought the rights to only certain seasons.

    CSI SpinOffs in Limbo

Uhh...so much needless debate. All of these shows have gone on long enough. Can we please realize all of these shows are long in the tooth, and deserve a dignified ending? One not decided by the whims of Caruso....or the needs of Gary? End them gracefully...with dignity...in a manner...

    "CSI" on PBS' Frontline

Last night's "Frontline" episode was about the science--or lack thereof--in forensic investigation. It was an interesting show, with a few obligatory snippets from the various CSI franchises. You can watch it online here: http://video.pbs.org/video/2223977258

    Sid being wealthy

That would be a fun episode: Sid entrusts his money in a wealth advisor who gets killed because someone suspected he was stealing the clients' money. Sid is up to do the port mortem, but has to confess his conflict of interest (no way Sid would ever turn to the dark side). Sid then has to...

    SAVE CSI: MIAMI!!!!!

The $1MM figure came from the original estimates by Zuiker and Bruckheimer when they pitched the CSILV pilot to Michael Eisner at Disney/ABC (as detailed in the book Disneywar). That was 11 years ago. Like CSILV, most of CSIM is filed in Studio City, CA. The "crime lab" is actually the FAA...

    SAVE CSI: MIAMI!!!!!

To be fully honest, there are too many shows on TV about murders and solving them. Both reality shows and dramatizations. We Americans seem to be obsessed with killing people--just ask George Zimmerman--and how these people are brought to justice.

    SAVE CSI: MIAMI!!!!!

To all of this, I say the following: let CSIM die a dignified death. The show had had a great run, 10 years, some of them good, some average, and some real crappy. Just to jog your memory, some other classic scripted shows lasted barely 10 years: Lassie (17 years) ER (15 years) Bonanza (14...

Episode 10x19 - 'Habeas Corpse' ***CONTAINS SPOILERS***

Was a great character. ;) But one of the greatest of all time? Not to be harsh, but I can think of at least 25-30 off the top of my head who are/were more iconic.

Episode 10x19 - 'Habeas Corpse' ***CONTAINS SPOILERS***

I doubt they "got" it after these last few years in the Sunday time slot. They should consider it good luck that the NCAA didn't play the final game last weekend on Sunday, the rating would be even worse. The show has more delays than Stapleton airport in Denver. I'm beginning to think the...

    Gary in an accident today

Gary and Corporal Kearns were supposed to be the co-Marshals of the NASCAR race in Martinsville last weekend. Richard Petty filled in. Plus I'm guessing there would have been some serious CSI work on David Reutimann's engine after that stunt he pulled on the last lap. :D

    'CSI:NY' First Look: 'Sláinte'

FWIW, "slainte" is Irish Gaelic for "cheers." It's pronounced "SLAN-cheh." I think I posted this in the article comments too. So perhaps a St. Pat's backdrop?

Episode 10x18 - 'Law & Disorder' ***CONTAINS SPOILERS***

Nice to see a legal a**hol* like Malcolm McDowell back, he was in the L.A. episode directed by Rob Zombie. The legal mellow-drama is not too convincing--the writers seems to be bending over backwards to invent new enemies for Caine. None of them are very convincing. As for the Delkquesne...

"Willows in the Wind" Discussion **SPOILERS**

Someone asked about the "walk away" line. That was probably adapted from Langston's line to Sarah in the hoarders episode from 2010. Sidle and Nick had a testy exchange in that episode; it was Langston's way of trying to smooth things over. Coincidentally, it might also tie into the theme...

    Ms Willows Regrets Discussion **SPOILERS**

In the preview for next week, DB, Catherine & Doc are holed up somewhere. DB calls Jim and says, "time to bring us in" which is probably code for< "pretend we're dead." Didn't Horatio Caine do this one season?

Perhaps wrongly, I sensed an allusion to Robert deNiro as Al Capone in "The Untouchables." ;)

    Grade 'Clean Sweep'

It was a decent story line with a nice twist at the end. I don't know the NY docks so I don't know how tough this area is. And while I appreciate that Mac/Gary are big into honoring our veterans, the little interlude in the middle was a bit maudlin for me. What he said was true, but they may...
