    House#2: 'More Addictive Then Vicodin!'

The scene between Wilson and Amber nearly exactly duplicated what happened with my uncle and aunt when she passed back in '98, so I was in tears throughout that whole thing. Hit a little close to home. Excellent episode!

    08 Presidential Elections

I feel that changing the policy and seating the delegates sends the message that if you are a 'important' (read: big) state the rules don't apply and you can do what you want. Sure, it's unfortunate for the voters in those states, but they should voice their displeasure with the state leaders...

Well, I'm very sad. The Flyers overachieved this year, so I can't really complain. But I will anyway. It kills me to lose to the Penguins because their fans (not you, DeWacko, but the ones I had to endure in Happy Valley and watch on FSN) are so arrogant they absolutely need to be humbled by...

    The good news thread!

I graduated from Penn State with a BS in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology this morning. Penn State does each ceremony by college, and mine was probably the first to go - 9 AM. The commencement speaker was decent (Dr. Phillip Sharp) and it didn't last too long.

The Flyers avoid getting swept but obviously the Pens are going to win this series. It's a real shame that Timonen and Coburn are out - tough to play without the top defensive line. They said Coburn could return for Game 5. With those two healthy this would have been a series for the ages. I...

    Celebrity Crushes

I have some weird ones. Currently my big one is Stephen Colbert - he's completely hilarious both in and out of character and a very nice person. He's quite intelligent, too, if you've ever seen an out-of-character interview. Others include: Nathan Fillion, Johnny Depp, Michael Trucco, Liam...

    What's Your Desktop Wallpaper?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v239/radjen4/colbert2.jpg I'm a little obsessed with Stephen Colbert right now, truth be told. I changed it to this from a Doctor Who themed one after I went to the taping.

Don't go Pens! Go Flyers! :D Poor SJ is eliminated after 4 OTs. That hurts! They should have called a 4 minute minor after Drury was spurting blood all over the place from a high stick. That was a bad missed call, and of course at the end of regulation Drury was in the box for high...

I just really hope the next round will be broadcast on a channel I actually get. I tried watching online via some slingbox setup or something, but my internet connection has been terrible of late so that didn't work. I could try going to a bar, I suppose. An all-Pennsylvania final would be...

Yes! Flyers in the ECFs! Bring on the Rangers/Pens! Nothing but respect to the Habs - that series was a lot more even than 4-1 suggests. I'll send Biron that fruit basket. ;) Versus misreported that this is the first time the Flyers have gotten to the Eastern Conference Finals since 1997 - I...

But geeze - 8-2? That's just cruel and unusual! I hope the Flyers finish off the Habs tomorrow, but I have a feeling there will be a game six. It's kind of funny actually, because even though Philly has technically never trailed in this series the stats make it look like Montreal should be...

What're you doing, trying to jinx the 3-1 lead?! The Flyers beat the Pens in the regular season series 5-3. Of course, the Habs swept Philly in the regular season, so that doesn't mean much.

Yeah, I knew you weren't from Pittsburgh or the US of A. I just see more Steelers jerseys on campus than Penguins even though only thing the Steelers will be doing in months is picking their rookie class, so I refuse to pity the Pens. Also, there's the fact that the last time the Flyers won a...

Pittsburgh won the Super Bowl just a few years ago, so they can't complain! Sure, it's a different sport, but most people from that city care a whole lot more about football than hockey anyway. They almost let their team become the "Kansas City Penguins" for crying out loud! Anyway, Flyers...

Parties and Presents! The Birthday Thread #5

I am now officially old. (I like saying that because so many people will look me in the eye and tell me, "Twenty-two is NOT old!" - as if I really thought it was.) Sadly, the board software doesn't want to recognize my rapid aging.

    The good news thread!

So, apologies if this kind of thing should be posted somewhere else; I didn't see a thread that would fit in my quick survey of the forum. Anyway, I have some good news. It came in the form of an email that read: So....Whoohoo! I only applied to this program and have been anxiously awaiting...

I want to see the Penguins and Devils crash and burn. So far the Devils are obliging, but that pesky Crosby kid isn't. *shakes fist in a westerly direction* There were 10 minutes of penalties in the Flyers-Caps game in the first period. Crazy. If the goalie interference penalty hadn't...

    America's Favorite Book Revealed

I recently reread Gone With The Wind and while I enjoyed it, but I must say it rather glorifies the South. But then, apparently Margaret Mitchell didn't even know the Confederacy lost the war until age ten...

From the Mouth of High School

Exam time in my Edpsych class. The entire class has gotten there early, which is :censored: annoying because I have to jump over people to get to my seat and I got there 8 minutes early precisely to *avoid* having to do that. But I digress. He hands out the scantron answer sheets and we fill...

    America's Favorite Book Revealed

I have read seven of those, scarily enough. Haven't read: Catcher In The Rye, even though it's set around my hometown, the Ayn Rand book, or all of the Bible. I did read the OT once... Anyway, if I were forced to choose a favorite book I would probably go with Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe.
