It's not about the actual numbers since the ratings now don't reflect the number of people watching the show, especially in the last couple of years.

With a combined 18 seasons already completed (starting 19, 20 and 21 now), the domination in ratings really speaks volumes about the CSI's. Having 2 spin offs were definitely the best move too, CBS has three killer time slots.
