I agree, friends should win over girlfriends/boyfriends unless you are really close with that person and have known them for as long as you have known your other friends. Too many people start dating someone and forget about the friends that they already had and the people that supported them...

I agree! And I think denial is a symptom. People don't want to think they have a problem, because that means they are going to have to deal with it. It is in their head as much as their heart.
