Sara/Greg #13: Sandle - The Ship of Hope

It's from season 6 'Gumdrops'. It's quite a dark and emotional episode in most cases, but this scene is like... well, it's just really sweet. :)

Greg: Do I get a gold star?

:D

Thanks for posting Wojo!

I miss those light-hearted Sandle moments. We haven't really had one since... 8x04 (can't remember the title: was it 'The Case of the Cross-Dressing Carp'?) when Greg offered to help Sara out on that case involving one of Sam Braun's casinos and all of that time period stuff. The conversation about the book... :) Love it.

You got it right... I have to say that Greg cracked me up talking old school like that. I even saw Sara trying not to laugh... she wasn't very successful 'cause I could see her smiling at times. He always knows how to brighten her day, doesn't he? I doubt Sara's gonna replace him though...

I have not seen any other episodes except for the ones Sara was in. (The Sandle hug and them working on the case sent my heart a twitter!) I'll have to agree with every positive thing said here about the *third* Sandle hug. These two know how to make hugs sandley-sweet. Shazza, can I use that beautiful hug banner you made around two pages ago? :luvlove:

Oh, I'm also here because I finished watching the latest episode of CSI and I was shocked to see some new blonde CSI, as well as Hodges in the field. And I was even more shocked to see the return of Lady Heather! (Video Sara was a treat on it's own but these other surprises were, well, surprising!)

Anyway, I love how happy Sara looks away from all the angst and troubles she had in Vegas and her relationship. I won't elaborate much, lest a mod chastise me, but there's a reason I gave up the dramatic GSR ship for the fluff-tastic Sandle ship. After seeing the episode, I quietly cheered for the Grissom/Heather shippers and I'm hoping for some good post-'Leave Out All The Rest' Sandle fic. I might have to dig down and write one myself if no one writes anything.

Hey Guys!

Sorry I haven't been here in a while but I've been busy with school and such! *hugs*

Oh Hestia *hugs*! Glad you see you sweetie and ofcourse you can use the beautiful hug banner! :) I know that scene and the episode in general was love.

I agree with everything you said and infact I have nothing more to add

Hestia! shazza! *tackles them both* I was beginning to think that you guys wouldn't show up...

Anyway, I love how happy Sara looks away from all the angst and troubles she had in Vegas and her relationship.

I'm just glad that Sara's happy... she was right about that last year in Vegas. I hope that she at least still keeps in touch with Greg... I'm sure she'd have something to say about the changes at the lab. Hey, do you think she and Greg chat by web cam when she was on her trip? I'd like to see that sometime...

hey guys...Im back!!! and i wanna share you this...its from the last eppy its kinda sad... I think i shld put it inside the spoiler box just to be safe...

Riley was like flirting with Greg..OMG! I kinda hate that...haha

Welcome back Hestia, Shazza and Naz!!

Anyway, I love how happy Sara looks away from all the angst and troubles she had in Vegas and her relationship.

I know! Wasn't it great to see her actually smiling? Felt like we hadn't seen that in a while... well, a little bit in the scene where she grabbed Greg's hand...

He makes her smile. :)

It was a little worrying, Naz, I have to admit. However, we can take comfort in the fact that Lauren Lee Smith, at least, doesn't seem to see Riley and Greg as a viable couple.

This is from an interview after she had filmed her first few episodes, but before they had aired:

Smith said Riley has developed a nice relationship with fellow CSI Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda). They "have this very brother-sister banter," Smith explained. "They're poking fun at each other all the time."

And this is a fairly recent one, maybe from this week? Not sure:

CSI's newest investigator, Lauren Lee Smith (Riley Adams) said she hopes her character's relationship with Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda) doesn't evolve into anything romantic. "The chemistry between Eric and I is very sort of 'brother-sister.' It's always more interesting when they keep it platonic," she told TV Guide.

I think we're safe, if she gets her way. :D

I think it was more bantering... why does everyone always assume that bantering equals flirting? It sounded more like an exchange between friends than flirting...

You see? We don't have much to worry about... I think Greg would be happy to have a sister figure. Though they might argue about who's older. Besides, Sara knows that she can trust Greg...

Haha, think we posted at the same time, Karu!

I think it was more bantering... why does everyone always assume that bantering equals flirting?

Exactly. I mean, Greg has that sort of relationship with everyone: he loves a good bit of banter.

It's the other, more subtle, things that make a potential relationship.

I think it's time those two had a talk.

Definitely!

Exactly... besides, Greg and Sara don't have just the bantering. They also had some sweet and hilarious moments... not to mention that Sara can talk to him about anything.

By the way, do you think they send birthday presents to each other? Sara's birthday was a couple of months ago and I keep wondering if Greg got her something... he'd know what she's like 'cause he's psychic after all. Remember Nana Olaf? Anyways, if he did, what do you think he got her?

Hestia! shazza! *tackles them both* I was beginning to think that you guys wouldn't show up...

 Oh, hun, you know I'll always love this pair even if I don't stop by as often.

And Shazza, thanks for letting me use your banner! (I resized it but I don't know how to make it clickable and linking it to the actual size of the banner. Anyone know?)

I'm so glad to hear the actress who plays the new blonde CSI (who seriously reminds me of Sofia) is not interested in having her and and Eric's character become more than colleagues and friends. :) That interview makes me smile almost as much as the interview where Jorja said she still holds a torch for Greg or the one where Eric pitched the idea for the sandle crush. That's another thing we have had (and still do have) going for us: both actors interested in having the flirting and cuteness that made it more than brotherly/sisterly interaction.

This, along with my Miami shippy flowers moment, has got me all positive and happy about CSI.

As for the birthday present query, I don't know if they'd exchange actual gifts (and if they did, it would have to be something that's small enough to be mailed). But I can picture Greg sending her a really adorable/funny letter and birthday card. Maybe some photos of interesting events in the lab or things that happened around Vegas with a caption like, "Look what you missed!" or "Wish you were here..."

Also, I wouldn't put it past him to call her up in San Fran and sing Happy Birthday to her... in Norwegian! :D (I wonder what the birthday song sounds like in Norwegian. I guess I'll look it up.)

One of my flat mates is Norewegian! I'll ask her about it.
... You know when you write a word a lot, and suddenly it just doesn't look right? I just got that with Norewegian. Have I spelt it right?

Yeah, that's one of the things I love about our ship. That the actors like it as well. :) Good times.

Yeah, I could so picture that happening. And I can just picture Sara's smile when she reads it/sees the pictures. But, I guess it would be quite a bittersweet smile, because she is missing him (and all the rest of her friends in Vegas).

I am back !!!! *hugs old friends* . What have you all been doing? Man , I've been gone for so long , I missed you guys , very very much ...and i will have to start reading everything since i last been here ...
ok, now on topic : I hope this new chick , Riley Adams(which is played by one of my fav actresses , by the way) will not fall in love with Greggie , because even if he is irresistible , he's Sara's boy .
Hmmm ... what gift would Greg give to Sara on her birthday ? He should have bought her a ticket for Las Vegas ... or a ticket for a trip , somewhere far away and he'll go and meet her there ...

I think you just gave TPTB another idea! I wish they would do a scene where he does that. I think he already speaks fluent Norwegian, but it'd be hilarious if he did it by web cam. I can already hear Sara laughing at his antics onscreen...

Really? How cool! Does your roomie have a weird allergy to a certain mildew? I'd love it if you could post lyrics plus a translation. We could post the song on Sara's birthday (September 16)! As for your spelling question, according to Google, it's spelled Norwegian, but that's American spelling. :) It might be different from where you're from, m'dear.

Oh, BTW, through the powers of Youtube, I've found that this is what Norway's version of the Happy Birthday song sounds like (more or less).

Hey Danielle! Always nice to see an older member around here. :D We actually discussed the new blonde girl and her interaction with Greg two or three posts up. The general consensus (backed up by the actress herself) was that Riley (or as I secretly call her, Sofia 2.0) and Greg will not be more than sibling-like friends. I haven't seen many episodes of CSI so I don't know if he's flirted with her (like he did most of the other new girls back in the early years), even so I'm sure no matter what Greg will always hold a torch for Sara and she has a fondness for him that she doesn't have for any other crazy sexy cool guy.
