Fishburne Visits 'New York' And 'Miami'

CSI Files

Captain
<I>CSI: Crime Scene Investigation</I>'s new leading man, <font color=yellow>Laurence Fishburne</font> (Dr Ray Langston), will film crossover episodes with both <I>CSI: Miami</I> and <I>CSI: New York</I> for the upcoming season.<p>As CSI Files previously <A class="link" HREF="http://www.csifiles.com/news/080109_03.shtml">reported</a>, <I>Miami</I>'s leading man <font color=yellow>David Caruso</font> (Horatio Caine) spoke with Fishburne about the possibility of filming a crossover between <I>Miami</I> and <I>CSI</I>. This season, Caruso will get his wish when Fishburne's character appears in the spinoff series, according to <A class="link" HREF="http://tvguidemagazine.com/">TV Guide Magazine</a>. But the crossover won't stop there. Fishburne will also appear in the Big Apple alongside <font color=yellow>Gary Sinise</font> (Mac Taylor) and the rest of the <I>New York</I> team.<p>All three episodes will be part of one big storyline during November sweeps. The crossovers will start on <I>Miami</I> during the show's normal timeslot Monday at 10:00pm ET/PT. It will continue on Wednesday at 10:00pm ET/PT during <I>CSI: NY</I>. Fishburne will wrap up the crossover by returning to Vegas for the crossover's third and final episode Thursday at 9:00pm ET/PT.<p>This is the first time <I>CSI</I> has crossed over with <I>New York</I>. The flagship series crossed over with <I>Miami</I> in <A class="link" HREF="http://www.csifiles.com/episodes/csi/season2/cross_jurisdictions.shtml">"Cross-Jurisdictions"</a>, the episode that introduced the second member of the franchise. <I>Miami</I> crossed over with <I>New York</I> twice: first in the episode that introduced the third series, <A class="link" HREF="http://www.csifiles.com/episodes/miami/season2/mia_nyc_nonstop.shtml">"MIA/NYC Nonstop"</a>, then in the two-part story <A class="link" HREF="http://www.csifiles.com/episodes/miami/season4/felony_flight.shtml">"Felony Flight"</a> and <A class="link" HREF="http://www.csifiles.com/episodes/newyork/season2/manhattan_manhunt.shtml">"Manhattan Manhunt"</a>. Fishburne will be the second actor to appear in all three series as the same character. Caruso has appeared on both <I>CSI</I> and <I>New York</I> as Horatio Caine. <font color=yellow>Carmine Giovinazzo</font> (<I>CSI: NY</I>'s Danny Messer) has also appeared on all three series, but his <I>CSI</I> appearance was as Thumpy G in the season three premiere <A class="link" HREF="http://www.csifiles.com/episodes/csi/season3/revenge_is_best_served_cold.shtml">"Revenge is Best Served Cold"</a>.<p>The original article is from <A class="link" HREF="http://tvguidemagazine.com/news/exclusive-laurence-fishburne-works-overtime-on-csi-1992.html">TV Guide Magazine</a>. Thanks to <font color=yellow>Shane</font> from TalkCSI for the heads up.<center></center>

This sounds awful. They're ODing us on Langston. I think we're gonna have to go to a detox center! Ugh. Don't. like. this. at. all.

i have to agree. if WP was still a leading man, this would never have happened. my gosh a cross-over with NY i could understand but Miami? *shudders* i don't think people are going to tune in to 3 episodes in one night. there is going to be even less of those who might watch all three shows during the week and actually care to remember what the heck this story is about.

besides, if i have to watch Caruso, i think i'll pass.

I don't mind Ray Langston, but I don't need to watch him on all of the CSI shows, either. Not to mention that I was never into any crossover. Ugh.

This sounds fantastic to me. Everything I've read about the new seasons so far sounds great, a real kick in the pants for each series. Bravo!

I'm Looking forward to a story arc that "crosses jurisdictions" - pun intended. :bolian:

I don't whatch CSI since Grissom leaved I don't really like Langston I tried few times but it's really not the same now, regarding CSI MIAMI it's really too hard for me to watch "H" more than one minute without switch the button off so do I will miss one of my favourite show because of the arc ? I don't know maybe I will try to figure out the story without watching the other one. Anyway I think this is a way to increase viewers on MIAMI and NEW YORK people who whatch CSI but never try the franchise

Um, to me this sounds like a smack in the face for New York and Miami.
I did like Langston, really I did. To start with anyway. But it just seemed to me that CSI Las Vegas was being re-written as the CSI Ray show, to the detriment of the other characters. (200th episode and they focus on the newbie? WTF??)
And now they're shoe-horning him in to the other 2 shows as well? Oh come on!
He's rapidly approaching 'Poochie' territory for me.

i can't honestly believe LF would want to be on the same screen with DC. it kinda worries me, tbh. you'd think such a valued star as LF would want to refrain from being shown with an actor who is publicly laughed at.

maybe TPTB wants to do it just b/c when WP was around such thing wasn't possible. WAT or CSI NY are quality shows with great lead actors, so a cross-over with either is not a bad idea. but Miami is a different world, it's a comic book, a Baywatch of crime dramas. it's like making David Hasselhoff go in his red shorts, hairy chest and singing 'Hooked on a Feeling' to solve a British-country mystery in Midsomer Murders. my head hurts. :p

I am usually very optimistic but I am starting to be worried about the CSI franchise. If there is going to be a crossover,Catherine should be the one doing it.Not to mention the idea of the crossover doesn't make sense becouse the shows are so different.I do like Miami but super H has nothing to do with Vegas.Seriously.

Umm...Laurence Fishburne with DC? *Scratches head, laughs hysterically*

*Suddenly stops, realizing that no one else is laughing*

Oh, TV Guide wasn't joking? Uh-oh. Double yikes.

A crossover with New York, I could understand, but with Miami? No way. Not in a billion years. As much as I love comic-styled Miami, that plus weird (in a good way:)) Las Vegas equals bad news. Super H makes it all the worse, no offence.

Yeah, I don't really know what's gone on in Vegas 'cause I didn't have time to watch any of the eps this past season (other than Warrick getting killed off and Grissom leaving; stupid, clueless TPTB:angryrazz:). My friend did tell me that LF's character was majorly taking over the show.

So I salute you and wish you lots of luck, 'O once great Franchise.

Well, supposedly Miami is supposed to get less Super H, more normal-human H. Personally, I'd rather watch hours upon hours of Super H than to watch one minute of Super-Smart-All-Knowing-CSI Langston. Ugh. I liked Langston more when he was fumbling with the fingerprint powders.

o come on just fish :wtf::confused::scream::brickwall:
again this is why we don't like him much:angryrazz:
yes i wanted a ny crossover
and didn't we already have a miami crossover:(
i want a crossover with all 3 with more TEAM :):D
and there's no ray in team
no marg, goerge, eric, al, super dave, hogdes, wendy, ...anyone?????

i think we can say all we want, but it's not going to change squat. *shrugs* maybe when WP comes back to check on them after his play ends, he'll have some rational suggestions they're going to consider.

I respect and admire LF, and am throughly enjoying his presence on the show, and he's a great CSI. I don't want to see Miami do a crossover, unless it's done well, and NY would be great:bolian:
