Reading the transcript of the fight, I definitely think it was a professional disagreement. The reason it got so heated was because of who Mac and Stella are personally. Their relationship is a complex one, and far more than boss/employee. Most of the time, Mac and Stella are much more like partners on an equal level than boss/employee, and IMO, it's often easy to forget that Stella is Mac's employee as well as his partner. She is below him (get your minds out of the gutter, you know what I mean;)). But most of the time they are like equals. I think their very close relationship makes disagreements over cases more serious and intense, like in this ep and Officer Blue. If Gil and Catherine or Horatio and Calleigh were to disagree over how a case should be investigated, it wouldn't be this intense, because they lack the closeness that Mac and Stella have.

I do have the feeling that this mid season finale will involve something bad for Stella. We have seen 2 vendettas on the show involving team members - Aidan and Pratt, and Mac and Dobson. Aidan's vendetta, while justified because the guy was guilty as sin, ended up in her getting fired, and then when she went after him on her own, she died. Mac's vendetta against Dobson, again somewhat justified because again he was guilty, ended up in Dobson dying, Mac risking his career and going on trial, and the girl's father losing the chance to learn where his daughter's body is buried.
Vendettas are not good, and they always end up hurting the good guys too. I think Stella is going to learn that, which is fine, as long as it's Mac who saves her. It'll have to be Mac- Danny is always the damsel in distress, after all. Maybe Flack will have to go with Mac to save Danny (or Angell, maybe?) But it would be better if it was just Mac and Stella, no other couples, please. It is Smacked time!

Reading the transcript definitely makes it clear that both Mac and Stella make some good points. I like that Mac was trying to show he was still her friend. And again, I do like that he is more the Voice of Reason here, it's an interesting role-change in their relationship.:bolian: Now, all we need is another role-change - we've seen Stella save Mac in Hush, so now we need him to save her. He can do the door-kicking thing he did in this ep. Only this time he'll be calling for STella. And he could be running for her like he did for P. in that ep in s4. And he could give the Greek Man his Marine Death Glare, and Stella could kick him (Greek man) where it hurts, go Rambo on him....:drool:

Sebastian: Marine Mac? Rambo Stella? Aggggggggggggggggh! *jumps into Atlantic and gets eaten by Debbie's pet shark.:lol::lol:

Ella will not be a problem. I really doubt Gary would want to do a romance storyline with a girl who around his own daughter's age and is also called Ella (his daughter is called Ella). ,I think Gary'd be 'Ewww! She's my daughter's age! Ewww!' Well, he'd probably put it better than that. I really don't think EP will go that way. I do hope we get Stella dealing with Ella though, either as Rambo Stella or as Understanding, Motherly Stella (but if she was nice, she'd still make it clear that Ella keep away from her Mac. Doesn't matter if Stella is pissed at Mac, he's hers.:adore: )

I hate being British sometimes and having to wait to see the new eps. Stupid country. :scream: I could watch it online, but prefer watching it on the big tv. It starts here early next year, i.e. January/February. I am looking forward to the good Mac/Hawkes/Flack/Adam/Stella eps, even if there hasn't been much Smacked so far. But maybe 5.11 is the beginning of change. It's a big thing for Mac and Stella, big things are good. And a fight (with Mac and Stella) can only go one way in the end....Make Up Land! Which is also known as Smacked Land.:bolian:

Forgetting about 5.11 for a while, I was doing requests at the library yesterday (calling people up to let them know books and dvds they requested have arrived) and someon had ordered Casino Royale, and it had a pic of the shower scene on the back, made me think of M&S and grin like a fool. Luckily, none of my colleagues were around.

I am going to watch some s1 over Christmas. 'Hush' is on the list, as is 'Officer Blue' and 'Triborough' and 'Rain' and also 'What You See':adore: I love dvd boxsets. Especially s1.:) S1 is :adore: for Mac/Stella.

I want my optimistic home back.:(
i´m totally with you!!!;)

actually i think it´s good that they finally have a fight again.yeah i was one of those supporters who wanted mac and stella to go through all ups and downs to intensify their relationship. it´s right that it doesn´t seem that they will get into a love relationship soon but i can support that too when writers give us something that brings them closer together or deepens their freindship.like i said before i don´t want them to end up like D/L. before writers are going to rush things i prefer to wait!!!
after all they are a perfect team for me but though there are situations where even mac and stella get confronted with these friendship-vs.-boss-thing. they never get involved in something similar (at least i can´t remember something that involves both of them in this way), so i tink it´s quite interesting to see how they will get along with this, i know in the end they will make up!!!

Ella will not be a problem. I really doubt Gary would want to do a romance storyline with a girl who around his own daughter's age
i agree with you. thought about that too, gary and melina are definitly able to influence the storyline a little bit. in my opinion there´s no way that gary could accept such a strange thing.
maybe there´s something totally different to it!

As i said before, i'd luv to see Mac and Flack having a conversation about Stella and Angell and vice-versa. I ship both smacked and Flack/Angell, i think Flack and Angell relationship is a bit like Mac/Stella (but Mac/Stella is much stronger). So i believe if a Mac/Flack and Stella/Angell advising each other could be fun. And revealing. ;) What if Mac gave Stella a "Thanks" kiss like Flack/Angell... hmmmm
I like the way you think eyewitness! Especially when it comes to that kiss... I keep picturing Mac doing that with Stella one of these days. *pokes TPTB* It would be great to see Flack and Angell play matchmaker with those two... I'm sure it'd be the subject of many Mac/Flack and Stella/Angell conversations. We might learn a lot from those conversations and I have the feeling that Flack and Angell already placed bets on when Mac and Stella are getting together. Those two might be closet shippers after all.

And to whoever said they needed a "slap upside the head":
*storms out of the room and calls Gibbs* ;)
(btw, Mac and Gibbs should definetely meet one of these days. they have a lot in common)
*raises hand* That would be me... though I think I used the word 'smack' instead. Anyways, I would love the idea of a CSI:NY/NCIS crossover, though I'm afraid of what'll happen if Mac and Gibbs are in the same room. You never know with ex-Marines. Though I do think that Gibbs and Mac and Stella would all get along just fine. By the way, can I come with you and Gibbs to smack TPTB? *holds up camcorder* I wanna record everything...

i thought of something like this guys:

Stella: so... you and Flack ever... you know...
Angell: what me and Flack? oh no not really...
Stella: hmmmmm.
Angell: well, to be honest, we... kind of.... kissed... once.
Stella: you and Flack kiss?? OMG!
Angell: well it's a silly thing. friends stuff.
Stella: friends stuff?
Angell: Yeah why? Don't tell me you and Mac never even...
Stella: No! Mac is my friend. My best friend. i don't think it would work between us. I mean of course i thought of it. But it would be odd i guess...
Angell: (smiles inside) hmmm sure it would...

Will anyone come up with a Mac/Flack smacked dialogue please?? :)

(a little off topic)
I guess Mac and Gibbs would be great, both lost their families in catastrophic ways, both are marines, both carry the burden of painful memories and have no success in romantic relationships because they have a hard time to let these memories go away, and ultimately are two lonewolves. Oh, not to say both have teenager stalkers (on the Halloween epi there was this young chick who had a crush on Gibbs hehe). The only bad thing is Stella could fall for Gibbs (well, I would fall for Gibbs...)
(enough with off-topic)

I am not concerned over the Ella Mac thing. He doesnt have a clue what she is up too and when he finds out he will want nothing to do with it He went racing over there because he thought she was in trouble and probably felt partialy responseable after getting all over her case. He is a soft heart after all. But what aggravates me is TPTB never allow the scenes to include the personal Mac Stella things , when the Greek guy pushed Stella Mac was kind of "Ho hum" and with Ella he kicks the door in? I think TPTB have to keep the intimacy out of Mac and Stellas story line because there chemistry jumps right off the screen at you! Look at D/L there relationship seems "Forced" where Mac and Stella Gary /Melina are so natural (just check out my Avie!). Mac is going to be so ticked off when he finds out what Stella is up too I cant wait! He will never fire her because where will she go? Melina is very much satisfied with her job as she stated in a interview not long ago. Smack is just as close as it ever was just a little different besides you cant keep the "newness" of the relationship like season 1 forever! They have been togther 5 years! Mac sharing his FBI secret with Stella in the last eppie proves to me they are as close as they have ever been but Stella is going to get a "GOOD SPANKING" when Mac finds out what she is up too!+

Everyone has a good point. :bolian:
After watching that fight scene couple of times...okay fine..more than couple of times. LoL I totally understand Mac. When he said to Stella that she should try stepping into his shoes and how he's in charge and responsible for everyone and everything...he's right. There's been lots of pressure coming from every direction (for example budjet cuts) and Mac's bosses pressuring him. And I'm sure Mac doesn't want to see Stella getting fired because what she did. Mac is trying to keep his team together.
And Stella tried to keep Mac out from all of this. Which wasn't good because he's the boss and he needs to know things like this. Like we saw..Mac's boss was calling him and asking what the heck was going on. And it makes Mac look bad as well when he doesn't know what a member of his team is doing because she's working behind his back.
And Mac had a good point when he said that this could compromise any future criminal prosecution.
I think this was all very hard for Mac. He's a very good friend of her and at the same time he's her boss. That's two different things. It's hard to separate them but this time he had to do it.
Maybe if Stella had asked Mac before acting this scene might have never happend. Well, I guess that's quite obvious.
Direct order he said. Which means this is work. Friends doesn't give direct orders.
I'm sure Mac is going to be there for her as a friend and of cource at some point as her boss. He has helpped her so many times as a boss and as her friend.

And then...I also understand Stella. She's scared. She thought she was going to die when that guy attacked her and she's getting threats. She knows she can do something about it but it doesn't mean it would be easy. Like she said "Put your self in my shoes." I think she was trying to tell Mac that she's scared and she want's to end all this. She said in the elevator "I just wanna catch this guy." .
But I still think she did wrong when she didn't listen Mac's direct order.

I have no idea if I'm getting anywhere with this...I'm just reasoning out all this for my self.
And I'm not scared after this fight. This is what some of us wanted and I actually saw it coming. And now we just wait what happens next and we wait for make up scene. And I think it's all going to be good in the end. I still have my faith in Smacked.
Well, I have never liked the TPTB and I think they keep screwing up all the time so I'll just wait and see what they throw us next.

And maybe I should stop reading spoilers. :shifty:

As Queenie said everyone have good points here

Most of the time, Mac and Stella are much more like partners on an equal level than boss/employee, and IMO, it's often easy to forget that Stella is Mac's employee as well as his partner
Jimenez and you have pointed this. We forget she is her employee because he never treats her like that. Actually it was Season 1 the last time i remember Mac told her "It's my call. End of conversation" (And it was Officer Blue :D ) Also in Season 1 when she wanted to do her own will in certain cases he dominated her even with his eyes (1.02 Creatures of the night, when Stella wanted to process the scene and she had to go with the vic to the hospital instead).
For last 4 years she was treated as his equal because they are the best friends. Painful is to watch they have to separate terms now ;)

She is below him (get your minds out of the gutter, you know what I mean;)).
:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw: Sorry, i'm just a human being. I'm a sinner i confess:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:
I do hope we get Stella dealing with Ella though, either as Rambo Stella or as Understanding, Motherly Stella
The chick is crazy -I doubt she wants Mommy, she only loves Daddy:lol: Actually it would be interesting if Ella decides to go after Stella to smack her. After all Reed thought it was his mum too:drool::bolian: and finally Mac would notice the bad shape Ella is

Lori--->
But what aggravates me is TPTB never allow the scenes to include the personal Mac Stella things , when the Greek guy pushed Stella Mac was kind of "Ho hum" and with Ella he kicks the door in?
You are so da** right about this :( if like they have decided to cut off every single scene with Mac and Stella this season regarding their emotions towards each other:brickwall: The best proof is Veritas. We were hoping so hard the Reunion scene and suddenly nothing, niente, nada. Also when she almost died (twice this season) we can't watch Mac's reaction because TPTB aka Evil People have the big pleasure of skipping any single moment of closeness. When Stella ran off towards the elevator he seems to be much more reflexive than ever when he said he wanted to cath the Greek guy as well

Also i agree with you Melina and Gary's chemistry is too strong and absolutely realistic:drool::drool::drool: Actually someone made a comment in another board Don was going to be Stella's couple (and i admit the have chemistry as well) but there is nothing which could be compared to Mac and Stella's relationship:drool:. So at this point what is getting on my nerves is TPTB's decition to "cool down" their relationship and they have to write them OOC because nobody would believe the distance between them

Queenie--> i liked you reminded me Stella and Mac's words "Put yourself in my shoes" Stella pleaded him and Mac did the same. For me the way they portrayed this scene was fantastic and unique. Stella looked hurt, Mac looked so upset as well for not being able to help her...Great, GREAT scene:bolian:

yes, it's very painful. Yes, we are upset because they have put them apart this season. Yes, some of the " distance" scene were so OOC. Yes, it's a pity Mac had to remind her he is her boss. But considering the lack of interest writers and producers have had on Mac and Stella, we should thank now
They only have payed attention to another ship. They even dared to start a relationship between Don and Jess as a second option.
But now we have the chance to see other layers in their relationship. We have the chance to make people ask them together.
I was reading the forum EyeW suggested (actually i subscribed and posted in there) and many people want them together so we are not alone

we have to stay strong and positive. I have told how i started posting here because i couldn't stand to find this thread in Page 2! (It was more than a year ago before s4 started). Many dear people saved this thread and this ship from the disaster (dear people who are not posting now) we survived that disaster so we only need to wait some more
All people are talking about Mac and Stella now so it's great if we want people ask them together

:bolian:

many hugs my dear Family!

Debbie :D

I also love all your points...here come my opinion:
I agree with you. I so can't imagine Mac being with Ella (urgh) and I'm also sure Gary wouldn't accept that. [ it's not a coincidence that she's called Ella...makes mac always think of STella when he yells her name...] Mac is just a person who cares for everyone around him and he felt with Ella who had to go through a lot, 'cause he knows how it is to lose the most important person/s in your live. he's just a good man and he would've blamed himself if Ella had killed herself or something.
About this Gillain aka She-Nit I think it's simply the same story with our fake foreman; we were all really upset when wwe read those spoilers and now they both disappeared. Good sign, huh? IMO TPTB realized that they're putting too much drama in their show. Which is I think pretty good, because it shows us that the actually THINK of what they're doing...sometimes.
I personally LOVED the fight and I watched out for romantic sparks between MAC AND STELLA!! The best part was when Stella walked out of Mac's office, all piss*d and looked back. 'She looked back....nice'
I don't think this Greek Guy story will last until the finale..soemwhen EP have to come up with a new idea, and it's just not really csi-style to make such a long storyline. It'd be good, though, but I hope Melina will ome up wit ha nice ending for this season where we'll get some smacked. I'm pretty optimisic about that.
I also love the Stella/Angell pairing, it'd be priceless if they talked about their mac just as Flack/mac about theri women.....

I'm totally calmed down now, because I watched some season episodes yesterday. 1x14 (Blood, sweat and tears), 1x18 (the dove comission) and 1x19 (Crime and misdemandour. It was totally awesome they always worked together and share so many great scenes I especially loved the one where Stella was sitting in Mac office in 1x14 and they were talking about Romeo and Juliet.....

but Stella is going to get a "GOOD SPANKING" when Mac finds out what she is up too!+

Love all your points, Queenie. I think their fight is even more realistic because you can see both their POVs.

As Queenie said everyone have good points here

I agree. I don't think Mac likes having to be the 'boss' to Stella in this way. And she is just as pained by having to defy him. I honestly don't think she wants to go against him, but she feels she has to to get the Greek man.

She is below him (get your minds out of the gutter, you know what I mean;)).

Yes, the distance is really annoying. Stupid EP. But I do think the fight could be the beginning of change, at least it shows some real emotions between the two.

Stella and Don's chemistry is that of very close friends. I can't see them romantically together, because Flack's interactions with Angell (his love interest) are very different to any of his interactions with Stella. He is flirty with Angell (though the cutie has no game, like Mac:lol:) whereas with Stella he's either teasing or joking with her, or offering friendly emotional support like in All Access. He cares about her, and she him, but just as friends. Don/Stella don't have the thing that Mac and Stella have going.
Of course, that is just my opinion.

I also love all your points...here come my opinion:

Perhaps Fake Fireman and She Nit got eaten by Debbie's pet shark, or the lions. Poor animals, I bet the Fireman and Nit don't taste nice...
I love the idea of Stella/Angell as friends, and really hope the writers will also do a similar thing with Mac and Don. Stella needs a real female 'buddy' and Angell is perfect for the role. She's pretty and smart and sassy and sweet, just like Stella, and she doesn't work at the lab, which is nice. And I so want Mac and Flack discussing their women and Stella and Angell their men, that would be perfect. And if Flack and Angell have a pool on Mac and Stella getting together, I bet Mac and Stella have one on them too.

I love the idea of Stella/Angell as friends, and really hope the writers will also do a similar thing with Mac and Don

Mac and Don must already be good friends. Remember her shared "Her" relationship with Don and Danny's nose was all out of joint! Also Don already knows Mac and Stella care for each other.Remember when Don was talking to Stella about RHL and asked if she was pretty and Stella got miffed? And Don got all defensive? They can play all the games they want but at the end of the day Mac and Stella will be together. It seems like they get closer more into the middle to the end of the season so we have time.
Ohhhh, my mind just went in the gutter when you said that.:devil::devil:
Kind of fun here in the gutter huh Macslady?

*claps hands* Yay! Everyone is done with venting and is thinking clearly again! *looks at optimism meter* Gasp! We are at an all time high!:lol:

I'm glad we're all good. Ella will hopefully fade off, with no weird side affects. She's a sweet and pretty girl who lost her family. She... needs a guy.... her own age!!! Almost always helps.

I desperately need sleep. *hugs sMacked family* Love ya'll!:adore::adore:

Good night!!!:)

Exactly. He is a caring and lovely man. Of course he has had a bad judment lately (first with Ethan, then when he said "she is tough" about Stella when she was extremely vulnerable but you can blame writers for that stupidity)
IMO TPTB realized that they're putting too much drama in their show. Which is I think pretty good, because it shows us that the actually THINK of what they're doing...sometimes.
They realized they would be putting too much crap in the show. So far this season has been a whole melodrama lately ;) :D (Sorry i don't want to be so mean but i can't help myself)
I LOVED that scene as well. But both looked so sad and hurt. I really liked it. It spoke volumes how they feel for being in different sides. Also when Mac ran towards the elevator he seemed to be really worry for her when he said he wanted to catch the guy

I agree. I don't think Mac likes having to be the 'boss' to Stella in this way. And she is just as pained by having to defy him. I honestly don't think she wants to go against him, but she feels she has to to get the Greek man
She felt hurt and he felt so bad for not being able to allow her to do what it was right. Those stares through the glass wall told me anything. Actually it was a fight ocmpletely different to their previous ones. In this one they didn't try to prove who was right just because they are too stubborn to admit it. Now they are noticing "the space between us" issue ;)

Lori-->
It seems like they get closer more into the middle to the end of the season so we have time.
i hope it will become true what you are saying. Season 5 was just too horrible so far without Smacked closeness. And even when i usually enjoy all stories i need my Smacked fix at the end of the day :D

Vave--> as sweet as Ella seems to be, she is mentally disturbed. In a word she is a psycho :D

Debbie :D

Hey everyone! Not sure whether I love or hate what I've read from you guys about the latest episode. I like the sound of the Stell/Angell friendship but I hate the sound of Ella and she-nit and fights.
Hopefully, Mac and Stell will make up and be really tight again, Ella and she-nit will fade away, and smacked will get back on track!

I must confess though guys, this is completely not related to smacked, but I need some friends and we're the smacked family right? I have to have an operation on my spine :( The doctor said that they're gonna cut part of it away. I might have misunderstood but I'm really freaking out :(:(:(

This fight between Mac and Stella was quite different from the previous fights. And we hope that would lead to a most sweet make up scene. :adore:

I have to have an operation on my spine :( The doctor said that they're gonna cut part of it away. I might have misunderstood but I'm really freaking out :(:(:(
I'm sorry to hear the bad news about your spine. With the modern medical technics and machinery, I'm sure you would be fine. :) All you have to do is to keep a happy and open mind. But if you're not sure about what the doctor told you, you should ask for a further explanation to make sure you have made the right decision. Hope you get well very soon. :)
