This is a really good thread because there is so many in the what are you listening to that i think oooh sounds interesting.

Ones i'm into at the moment:-

Sigur Ros - Icelandic group.... very much like Radiohead i think the latest album is more mainstream almost its very chilled out music quite eerie. It gets better the more you listen I've had one album on today and its easy to just leave in back ground to play.

Sixx:AM - Love this band it has one of the guys from Motley Crew in Nikki Sixx... and the album is a tag along to his biography however you don't need to read it i don't and each song is a different chapter in his life... its amazing album "The heroin diaries"
"Life Is Beautiful" is the best song by far.

The Enemy - British Group indie rock i think i wouldnt know what to describe it as just released album in UK and its a great album.

Other bands mainly UK so i don't know if other people from other countries know them as well:
All mainly rocky type of music but my fave bands.
    - Feeder (Brit Indie Rock at its best)
    - Muse (Just Amazing)
    - Embrace
    - Idlewild

Is it weird that I've heard of almost all of these bands?

    - Rio Bent
    - Melody Unwinding
    - You Say Party! We Say Die!
    - Uh Huh Her
    - An Horse
    - Cocorosie
    - Meg & Dia
    - Soko

They get quite a bit more popular towards the end, but those are just off the top of my head.

    I know:

Soko, You Say Party! We Say Die!, CocoRosie, Muse, Sigur Ros, Melée, The Hush Sound, Cute is What We Aim For, Beirut, Flogging Molly, Vampire Weekend, Tegan and Sara, Metric...

so that's a lot and therefore I have to agree with Showtime. Here are a couple I like a lot - I don't know if you know them already.

Beth Orton, Bonde do Role, Camera Obscura, Cat Power, CSS, The Cinematics, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Joanna Newsom, MGMT, The New Pornographers, Nouvelle Vague, The Ting Tings, Yo La Tengo.

^I know The Ting Tings...I haven't really checked out their songs myself but they did have a number here in the UK with they're song "That's Not My Name". They seem to be popular but like I said before I have really listened to any of their songs! :p

Ten bucks says that no one here has heard of Old Springs Pike (recently re-named The Spring Standards). They're an indie folk-rock-ish band from New York, and they're awesome. :)

Don't know if you guys and girls have heard of her but Jenni Alpert...I absolutely love her lyrics. But since we are on a CSI forum ;) I guess most of you have heard of her since her song 'Breaking Down' was used in the promo 'A Goodbye to Sara Sidle'.

I know 'em! They're pretty good.

    Alexisonfire
    City & Colour

^^ Those two are Canadian and I don't think they're too popular in other places. I could be wrong but... yeah.

    We The Kings
    All Time Low
    As I Lay Dying
    Automatic Loveletter
    Bedouin Soundclash
The Colour Fred (Fred who was formally in Taking Back Sunday)
    The Devil Wears Prada
    From First To Last
    Madina Lake
    Protest The Hero

Those are some bands who are on Warped Tour 2008 that I know and like but aren't that known.

I heard of and listened to pretty much ALL of these bands, they're pretty awesome! :)

Two that I think might not be well know:

My Darkest days - (An unsigned band from Canada, leader is Matt Walst the brother of Brad Walst from Three Days Grace. So if you like Three Days Grace you'll like these guys thought their styles is totally different. But My Darkest Days is totally an awesome band and you should definately check them out)

YouMeAtSix - (are a Punk Rock band from the UK, pretty unknown though)

    ETA: (thought of some more)

Athlete (another band from the UK)
James Morrison (His album was just so awesome)
    By The Tree
    Trevor Morgan
