CSINY Season 9

From deadline:

On the heels of canceling fellow spinoff CSI: Miami, CBS has renewed the youngest in the franchise, CSI: NY. Additionally, the network also has pulled the plug on the midseason comedy Rob. The fate of the last remaining CBS bubble series, veteran comedy Rules Of Engagement, is still being determined.

Yaaay!

hmm, although i didn't watch an entirely(couldn't stand more than 5 min.) episode and the news are reliable, i'm a bit sad of the outcome, that the franchise will shrink and no longer be an example for sucessfull entertainment.

Two of the shows are still going and the other lasted 10 seasons. I'd say that's a lasting example of successful entertainment.

ETA: I guess hooking up Mac with Christine wasn't the death knell for NY after all. :shifty:

don't missunderstand me here, csi had a big influence over the last decade and i'm sure that in 20-30 years they will be still counted, as one of the most watched show world wide.like i said on the emotional level ,i'ma bit dissapointed cause the cancellation does imply, csi is now past on his peak.

Hurray, We receive the Season 9. :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

Weird thing is L&O lasted 20 years but the other two spin offs are still on. I think L&O: CI is still on. I know SVU is and I think it got renewed.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!! THANK GOD!!! I am so HAPPY!!! I am thrilled and excited! I kind of expected CBS will choose NY over Miami like it chose Cold Case over Without A Trace! The younger (less expensive) show wins!!!

I'm shocked. That makes no sense.

CSI NY was already dead last season and got a chance to do better this year. but it didn't. miami was always better AND got a big syndication deal. why did they cancel it?

I think caruso said no

I think it all comes down to money. CSI:NY costs less to make, and CSI: Miami has already made plenty of money (and continues to make plenty of money) internationally.

Either way, I'm just glad CSI:NY will be back for one more year! :D

^^Miami was likely more expensive to produce as well, weren't they already cutting the number of episodes actors appeared in due to financial constraints?

I'm happy for New York though, I never did get into Miami and it gives NY another chance to rewrite their (imo) rather shoddy finale. ;)

how many spin offs did they exactly had?however,it would been great to have surpass them.but from what i read(it runs in germany, but im not tangent to) in the past, the ratings expectation isn't that high.respectively the bar, in relation to csi not superior.

My wish for one episode:
The Navarro family (CSI Miami season 10 storyline, whis is still unfinished) appears in New York and Horatio hunts them with Mac together.
