CSINY Season 9

I have nothing against petitions, but I think the main thing is getting it out that new episodes return 3/30/12. If people don't tune in to the remaining episodes the petitions mean nothing. Look at what happened to Jericho. They brought it back because of the massive campaign by fans, but when it came back the ratings weren't there so it didn't even get a full addtional season.

There is also a feedback form for CBS here: http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.php. It doesn't hurt to let them know what you think of NY and why you want a S9, but again, getting the word of it's return on 3/30 out to people who might not know when/if it's coming back is the most helpful, IMO.

I have been posting on the CSI:NY FB page that it is coming back. But so many posters have been asking, I have made a new post.. Maybe I should be doing it more often, every hour.

EDIT: GS should be mentioning that more too.

Posting it on the FB page is a good idea. I actually haven't been to the page for a long time because no one was moderating it and it was filled with spam for porn sites and other nasty stuff. I'll have to check it out and see if it's gotten any better.

ETA: Just went there and the spam was minimal. I posted a reminder for people, but I agree that as many of us as possible need to post on the page to remind people when it is coming back. Thanks for the reminder about the page, Mac&Adam Fan.

There are more posters asking about the show but there are a few spam here and there.

I don't mean to be picky but I would have thought GS, AJ and the rest of the cast should be tweeting it on twitter and posting it on FB to save the show.

EDIT: Posted right after you had posted your edit: PerfectAnomaly, no problem for reminding you about the page.

You are right PerfectAnomaly, sending the feedback to CBS is important, thanks for posting the link here. Looking at the Facebook page for operation9 I see that they too are advacating doing that as well, they also have postal addresses for CBS and CSINY there - not sure if I we can post them here or not.

Getting the the March 30th return date out the as often as possible it a very good idea as well. I know that Talk can't pick favourites (and I am not suggesting that they do) but the Talk twitter has a lot of followers could they not help with that in some small way.

It is very important that the show gets great viewing figures in the US but it is worth mentioning that while I am not from the USA this is what I understand about your ratings system; the ratings are not based on what everyone is watching but on those who have the Neilson box are watching (which is a small cross section of the population). So you, me (if I was in the US) and the man down the street could be watching it but if we dont have a neilson box our viewing it wont count. So, if you are a neilson family I know you can't say that you are but please watch CSI NY when it returns on March 30th.

Those of you without a neison box please watch it as well! Not just for yourselves but watch it for us too - those not in USA and Canada and have months to wait for it to air where we are ;)

Off topic here but, I have also thought it was time the US ratings system was looked at. There are so many way to watch TV these days the current system seems a little dated.

We need to post more often on the FB NY page. I just posted that it will be back on March 30th but you gotta be careful with posting too much. I got blocked temporarily for posting too much on that page.

I would think it'd be okay if the actors and actresses post on their page that the show will be back on March 30th. I saw GS tweet that, I think Sela too. I know AJ hasn't and I don't know about the others though.

The show just got some help from TVGuide's Ask Matt column:
Question: I'm glad to see Undercover Boss moved to Friday's 8/7c time slot. But why didn't they treat A Gifted Man the same as Prime Suspect and bury it somewhere Saturday night or put it on hiatus? Where is my CSI: NY? Certainly its season isn't over already, is it? — Myrna

Matt Roush: Lots of questions over the last week about this latest midseason shuffle, which CBS maybe might have done a better job preparing fans for. If you're happy to see Boss on Friday, something had to give — and CBS opted to let CSI: NY take a break, sharing the 9/8c time period with A Gifted Man, which will play out its first season through the end of March. Once Man finishes its run, CSI: NY will return March 30 to finish out its eighth year to the end of the season. What that says about the renewal chances for either show remains to be seen.

It would've been helpful to explain that NY only got 18 episodes this season and that's why the hiatus, but you can't have everything. He mentioned the return date and that's great!

Yeah, that's great.

If anyone has 'liked' Sela's FB page, maybe you can post a new comment that the show will be back March 30th. I don't want to 'like' her page just to do that. I just think that's rude.

OH!! I can't believe I failed to mention this sooner: Op9's set up viewing parties... hold on, I've got the link here somewhere....
Here, I just put in the quote:
We have started to hold weekly Viewing parties (VP's) on twitter during #CSINY normal Friday EST time slot.

We are also hold the VP's on Fridays at 8/9pm UK/Europe time for those who may find that timezone party better for them.

Given the number of weeks of the break and the number of episodes to pick from to draw up a list of 6 eipsodes was hard so we thought the easiest thing to do would be to watch the last 6 season finales (thats season 2 - 7) that way we would see everyone but Aiden.

To take part in a VP is easy; just pop your DVD or watch on line for the relevant eipsode and tweet as you watch, respond to others taking part as you wish. If you use the #csiny #operation9 hashtags you will know who at the VP with you.

As the UK has just started to get season 8 on saturday nights we are hold UK parties when on Saturday nights on Five.

We will remind everyone of what eipsode etc before well the party begins.

But remember its not about the episode you watch but you are talking about the show. Whether watching with friends or on your own just tweet about the eipsode to show we have not forgotten #csiny & await its return on 30th March
There are also people talking about writing Snail Mail to CBS and "CSINY". Addresses:
This is the postal address for CBS

Nina Tassler
President
CBS Entertainment
7800 Beverly Blvd
Los Angeles,
CA 90039-2112
USA

And this are the postal address for CSI NY

"CSI: NY"
CBS Productions
4024 Radford AvenueBldg 7,
2nd Floor
Studio City,
CA 91604
USA
I think the snail mail is a fantastic plan. I will be handwriting two very poignant and pleading letters in the next few days and will be sending them soon.

Just saw on the CSI: NY FB page that they finally stated when the show would be back. But then we do have another month to go.

I just don't get all the apparent Miami love among the execs. Of course its ratings are marginally higher than New York! Most of the annointed demographic is out partying on Fridays and back home on Sunday nights. Plus NY is competing with one of NBC's only decent shows, Grimm, as well as Fox's Fringe. It's hard to believe anyone would prefer the apparently-teflon David Caruso's wooden acting over Gary Sinise's talented portrayal of Mac unless, of course, they're watching Miami for the comedic value. And Sela Ward has added a new dimension to the show. Jo is such a mother figure instead of a potential love interest for Mac; I never saw that one coming! Perhaps other viewers watch Miami for the same (and only) reason I do: the beautiful outdoor shots that translate so well to a large-screen television. .

This may not be the place to post this, but when will CSI-NY return to Friday Nights? You can say I may be getting old, but I love Friday Night TV. I went out to eat this evening at the Longhorn Steak House and came back home in time for Blue Bloods. I am missing my Ole Buddy, Mac Taylor!

Peace

Miami is escapism for me. I like ny and lv but sometimes they're a bit too true to life. When you get true life bad stuff on the news every day, escapism is good. It does have a good character moments which keeps it real. Horatio? if he did it any differently I doubt he would be so iconic. He's forever gone down in tv history.
