I'm kind of surprised, to be honest, but I'm glad they got him back in some capacity for this episode - it would be weird to have Grissom's mother in an episode without having Grissom involved as well. ;)

Since spoilers for the episode came out I kept thinking the same thing. I'm glad he is going to be there. What I just don't get is why CBS is not promoting that he'll be there. You would think they'd be promoting it from the moment he said yes....
 
WOW! I'm shocked! I was hoping he'd at least be heard on the phone, but this is even better. It'll be great to see him again.
 
I hope it's true. I really liked Grissom, it's not the same with Fishbourne...

It's true. There is a promo video in the Vegas spoiler thread that shows him talking to Sara via videoconference.

If it was a video from CTV it's probably been pulled for copyright infringment. :( All videos taken from CTV seem to have been pulled for copyright infringment.
