I doubt it. I seem to remember reading somewhere that she was going to take over her fathers casino business (the portion she inherited) but i might be wrong, certainly would be more plausible than just killing her off, they cant kill off the characters of all actors who leave. Plus i think marg agreed to come back for season 12 (well some of it) so that the writers could properly script the character leaving and i dont think that would have been necessary if they were going to just kill catherine off. Purely my speculation, i certainly hope that catherine doesnt die.

Because TPTB don't want her to leave, so I'm 98% sure they're not gonna kill her off so that she can make an appearance every now and then if they ask.

Well she could have an identical twin she never mentioned who is also a CSI and joins, but that would be pretty silly :rolleyes:
 
I hope they don't kill her off so she could make a guest spot. I would love her back to at least say good-bye whenever they have the series finale.
 
NCIS has always been great in the way they keep characters around after their deaths. Season 3 had "Kill Ari 1" and "Kill Ari 2", with imaginary-Kate which worked really well, and Season 8 had "Swan Song", In which imaginary-Mike returned to walk Gibbs through the events that lead up to him being killed.
There is also talk about Mike coming back as Gibbs conscience during season 9
It'd be nice to see CSI do that, even if it meant Catherine dying.

As to why it would have to be Nick, she's been connected to him the most, he was the only current team member that worked as a CSI prior to the pilot, and the only current team member that was assigned to her team during Season 5.
